A Slow Start ... Again

Saturday, January 28, 2023

Sigh.  So much to do, so little interest.  Stayed up way too late last night, don't think I fell asleep until after midnight.  Woke up at 5:15 and was awake but not rested so I went back to sleep eventually and got up super, super late.  And I haven't exactly been a ball of fire either, having accomplished nothing and it's already 1:30 when I'm starting this.  So bad.

TGIS though.  Now, about that motivation.

Scheduled a vacation, an annual long spring golf weekend.  Two months away.  I have a target weight in mind, which should be attainable without too much difficulty if I can not have too many stumbles and more importantly if I can get regular with the walking.  That's the important piece, being in better shape is actually more important than the weight loss.  I did feel better physically this week, which was encouraging -- even a couple short spurts of zip.  A very welcome sign.

Breakfast:  Toast, coffee

Last of last week's loaf, I'll bake one for this week tomorrow then I need to evaluate whether I can cut it out (and if I do whether it will make a difference, you would like to think that fewer carbs are better and I'll still get plenty).  Certainly could have skipped it, but it was a way to clean it up and make a dent in cleaning up the butter too.

Lunch:  3 egg omelet with cream cheese, bacon and guacamole, hash browns, extra bacon

I experienced pouring fail with the hash browns, I intended to make about half that many.  The bag had split and was hard to handle.  Result:  A lot of food.

Snack:  Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich

You know, it's not great that a location opened right nearby.  And that they're batting 1.000 as far as serving up a very good or better sandwich.

Dinner:  Super deluxe home "pizza" slash casserole

Wanted a loaded pizza but wasn't sure if my cracker crust would handle it, so I just did a cheese pizza and then did everything else in a cast iron pan.  Dumped it on top.  Turned out very good but whoa way too much food.  And I've got a bunch left for tomorrow too.  Pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, red bell pepper, onion, black olives.  I forgot the mushrooms and waved off the jalapeno I had bought.

Also:  12 oz grape hard seltzer.  Found I had one more when I cleaned out the fridge.

Exercise:  Nope.  Cold and snowy out there, not much will in here.  Need to go do something but I'll probably just end up at the office.
