Futility Full Stop

Monday, June 1, 2026

Well that's not how you want to start your week.  Went to sleep around 10:30.  Woke up at 4:45.  Too awake, this is not good.  After a half hour or so I was ready to go back to sleep ... or so I thought.  Instead, what followed was two hours of NOT sleeping.  It was not restful.  At all.  It was just complete futility.

So on that cheerful note, let's have a day.  Hey at least the scale was down.

Going to attempt some dietary changes.  Looks like I need to try some low carbing, while acknowledging that life exists.  If I can follow the 80/20 rule, that means no more than 4 off plan meals - three will be Tuesday dinner, Saturday breakfast and Sunday dinner.  But it remains to be seen how it goes.  One way or another I need to lose some significant weight and it's not going to be exercise driven, at least not right now.  One thing that needs 100% compliance is no regular soda, that's been a problem.

Breakfast:  Sausage wrap, coffee

Did not cook up any bacon, so I had one Meijer sausage patty, 2 slices of pepper jack and a packet of fire sauce in an Ole zero net carb wrap.  As usual it did the job.

Lunch:  Bunless double cheeseburger w swiss, avo oil mayo, olives

Again, just with no bread or butter.  I was informed that today was national olive day so I decided to make my burger an olive burger.  Also, I need better lighting for my photos, it was better than it looks.

Dinner:  Leftover steak, 2 eggs over medium both cooked in butter, guacamole, 12 oz Yuengling

Not a lot of food.  That's a dinnertime goal.

Exercise:  Nope.  On a positive note, while I was exhausted for much of the day, I am feeling better this evening and will even get a couple household chores done.  Hoping to crash early.
