Pushing For Routines

Wednesday, September 27, 2023

Another day of less than stellar everything, though as a I write this at noon it is still far better than yesterday.

Got to sleep on time, woke up about 4:15, didn't get up until 7:30.  Wasn't as sound asleep as yesterday in the recliner, but close enough.   I do not know why I need so much sleep right now, but getting going is proving to be very, very difficult.  The scale, predicably, was unkind and I deserved every bit of it.

On the plus side, I did have a moderately productive morning, and during the non-productive time I actually had some good thoughts. Mostly about routines and the power of routine.  Did a first draft of an updated daily routine sheet I can post on the fridge.  I can work on the weekend chore version tonight, maybe.  If I can keep it manageable, great, I think it's got a chance.

Going to cut this short and run to Walmart at lunch for a new alarm clock.  Going to try and kick the phone out of the bedroom for good tonight.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal, coffee

Time to shorthand, too much work to type soaked oatmeal with butter and maple syrup when I am eating the same thing every day - the only difference is whether it's re-heated, which todays was.

Lunch:  3 CF eggs scrambled w a few peppers and onions, hash browns, sour cream

Basic breakfast bowl.  I have quite a few hash browns on hand, once I've eaten through those I may try to do without in order to cut the carbs.

Dinner:  Masa chips and guac, 12 oz Miller Lite, home tacos

Pleasantly surprised by how the Masa chips took the edge off my hunger.  Same toppings as usual on the home tacos, except I forgot hot sauce.  I have two more rounds worth of tortillas in the package and just made taco meat tonight so I see more in my future.

Exercise:  Nope.  Going to try again with enthusiasm to go to bed even earlier so that I can hopefully push myself out the door in the morning.
