Gut Check

Friday, September 22, 2023

TGIF.  Not much zip today so far, it was a decidedly unproductive morning.  Most of that relates to dread of a work obligation this afternoon, but still, not much energy is not helping.

Felt like I got a decent night of sleep.  Stayed on schedule, I was quite ready to go to bed.  In by 9:00, asleep not long after 9:30.  Woke up around 5:30, it was nice not to have a wake up in the middle.  Which was a surprise, given that I had ample liquids late yesterday.  I guess the scale reflected that fact.  But okay.  Did not get up, in fact I lazed about until after 7:00.

As I tweak my diet I think I'm going to need to monitor my abdomen.  It is quite bloated at the moment, a lot of this year's weight gains are concentrated right there.  Not always the case at this weight but it is right now.  Probably need to axe the milk, cut the carbs - especially the grains - and exercise consistently to do something about it.

Breakfast:  Leftover oatmeal with butter and maple syrup, Great Value vanilla greek yogurt, coffee

Just before I went to bed I looked at the carton of yogurt I bought yesterday and realized that I did not get plain.  I got vanilla.  With lots of added sugar.  DOH.  Idiot.  That's what I get for buying at Wal Mart for the first time and not paying enough attention to what I was doing.

Lunch:  Leftover enchilada eggs, leftover lazy bagels with very veggie cream cheese

Once again good.  Really, really good.  I love the enchilada eggs.  May have to give up the lazy bagels, but on this occasion they hit the spot.  Reheated well too.

Dinner:  Home tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers chocolate ice cream

Bought some Meijer organic jar jalas, otherwise same as yesterday.  Bought the ice cream last week, broke it out since it was downright summerlike out there today.  Also, confirmed that I like these tortillas better than Guerrero or La Banditeria.

Exercise:  Nope.  As mentioned, I slept in.  I got in a very short walk of a couple blocks and a big flight of stairs, and I walked around Meijer, but nah, not counting it.
