Breaking Down All Over

Day Five

TGIS.  Seems like I say that weekly, but it's true.  I so appreciate the break from routine, even if it is just to do a different routine.  I can definitely use the mental refresh.  Especially this week, where on top of the usual piles of stress I have been considering some steps that could result in a major job change.  It would take the rest of this year to potentially get there, but it is a possibility.

Scale-wise, another nice drop.  Progressively smaller, but that is absolutely expected.  We'll rapidly get to the point where a pound or two a week is great.  I also had my best blood pressure reading in a while this morning.

Another poor night of sleep.  I went to bed at a reasonable hour but had difficulty falling asleep again, which is just not usual.  I was definitely tired enough, just couldn't shut down the brain.  And I experienced the unhappy return of cramps, in this case a most unpleasant foot cramp.  I would imagine that losing all this water has flushed out a bunch of electrolytes -- I switched to using Good Salt which has potassium and magnesium, but I may need to supplement.  Situation to be monitored.

Lots to do today, I had better get busy since I lolligagged around for a long, long time after I gave up on sleep.

Breakfast:  Meijer plain whole milk greek yogurt (7), Meijer organic wild blueberries (6), coffee

A little high on the carbs this morning, but I won't have many at lunch.  I did the blueberries by weight, I definitely could have had fewer and it would have still been fine.  Might halve it next time.

Lunch:  3 eggs (2) scrambled with american cheese (3), hatch chiles (2), sour cream (1), CF cherrywood smoked bacon (0)

Pleasantly surprised how much I liked the cherrywood bacon.  It's more expensive than apple or hickory or black pepper garlic, but it was delightful.  Guess I'll have to buy some in the future even if they aren't wiped out of all other kinds.  Too many stray carbs on the egg addins, going to have to watch it at dinner.

Dinner:  Ribeye steak (0), sauteed mushrooms and onions (6), 12 oz Miller Lite (3)

All good.  Ribeye was one I bought from the store before the holidays, dry brined and vacuum sealed.  Did it sous vide, finished on the stove in a little tallow.  Intentionally cooked it to medium, ribeye fat is much better when it's more cooked, otherwise I like more rare.  Had to scale back the serving size on the mushrooms and onions - yes, I calculated and weighed.  Not a problem, though I could have easily eaten the other two servings!

Exercise:  Nope.  Should have gone this morning but didn't.  Will need to make up for it with a very active day, which seems ... likely.

Day totals:  $ 92.11 spent,  30g carbs, success

Went to the farm, decided to stock up in advance of the weather predicted to be coming next week.  I hate the drive out there when the roads aren't good.  They were out of sausage patties (doh) but had plenty of bacon for the first time in a while.  The freezer is quite full.  I would have been fine with about half as much stuff, but like I said, plus I had a little extra cash.
