I spent a couple of minutes messing around on the CDC's website yesterday with their BMI calculator. I was curious as to how much weight I would still have to lose in order to be officially "not obese". To reach their "healthy weight", the answer was ... A LOT. Seriously, a lot. I would have to be a weight I haven't seen since I was 35 years younger and 4-6 inches shorter. It's ninety pounds below my immediate (long term) goal and forty pounds below my in-my-wildest-dreams stretch goal.
I've read a lot of criticism of BMI over the years but have never given it any meaningful thought, but man, if I were at that "healthy weight" just one pound below obese I would be a stick.
Moot point, since it's never going to happen. But I am feeling good today after another drop despite eating a massive bacon cheeseburger etc for the second day in a row. No repeat today, work and family stuff will cause bad eating, then it's the weekend and yeah.
