Bowl To Brisket

Friday, January 31, 2025

Last day of the month, last day of the week.  Ready for a weekend.

Sleep gets a B.  Standard 7 hours, midnight to 7:00. Slept straight through, woke up five minutes before my alarm.  Apparently this is ingrained now.  Why can't it be this simple to sleep consistently from 10:00 to 5:00?  Not an A grade as I was a little tired, slightly stuffed up and slightly headached, but nothing too significant.

Scale was kind, though not as much of a drop.  Which is not a complaint.  We'll see how it goes today if I have a keto bowl for dinner.

Breakfast:  4 CF sausage links, coffee

Good as always.

Lunch:  Quick enchilada eggs, with jalapenos and guac

Last of the carton of eggs, sausage and sauce.  Nice cleanup.

Dinner:  Grocery store brisket with Primal Kitchen BBQ sauce, 12 oz All Day IPA, popcorn w a little butter

Had to audible, since I didn't leave work until 7:30.  Store was sold out of hot brisket but had some in the case, it wasn't bad reheated, it's just not ever going to be the best.

Exercise:  Nope.  Work.

Feeling The Difference

Thursday, January 30, 2025

It's been a while, but it was sure a pleasant feeling.  When I got up this morning, I felt notably leaner.  Less bloat.  Still super fat, but not as rotund.  A bit less abdominal swelling.  The feeling was confirmed when I got dressed, things were looser.  Not dramatically so, but noticeably.  It's amazing what two or three days of water release will do for you.

Doubly nice as it was reflected on the scale.  Yay.  Ticked below a number I hadn't been able to breach in a while.  Happy to have made some food choices that finally kicked in the water release.

Sleep was meh.  We'll give it a C.  Not quite enough hours - asleep about midnight, up at 7:00.  One insignificant foot cramp, a little tired when I woke up but didn't need a lot of snoozing.  Feel okay, just not peppy.

Looking forward to another weekend, though again I'm sure there will be work involved.

Breakfast:  4 CF sausage links, coffee

I was pretty brain dead last night when I cooked the sausage (about 10:30) -- it wasn't until the time was up that I realized I had the oven at 350 instead of 400.  Oops.  Gave them some time and made sure to heat them thoroughly this morning.

Lunch:  Deluxe taco bowl

Same as yesterday, I think - taco meat, 1C spicy beans, cheddar, cotija, guac, sour cream, jalapenos.  Added some hot sauce after the photo.

Dinner:  Quick enchilada eggs (3 CF eggs, CF sausage, cheddar, enchilada sauce, jalapenos, 2 slices american cheese)

Cheesed it up a bit.  Very tasty.

Exercise:  Nope.  Work again.  I don't know what I'll do with myself tomorrow night if I don't go back.

Not Quite Carb Free

Wednesday, January 29, 2025

Apparently yesterday's diet was sufficiently low in carbs.  Water left and continues to leave this morning.  Which is good.  I'm slightly surprised, since I did have a cup of mashed potatoes and a beer, so it wasn't like I was grain free, and I also had a large quantity of beans.  Eggs and cheese and meatloaf aren't carb free either.  But okay!

Weird night of sleep.  Didn't wind down well apparently as I was not sleepy.  Finally nodded off somewhere in the 1:30 range, and I was awake before 4:00.  Not really sure why.  Some ineffective snoozing followed, I doubt I got much more than four hours of actual sleep.  And yet I don't feel horrible and really didn't when I first woke up either.  Still, we'll give is a grade of D+.  Could be worse.

Scale was definitely my friend, nice drop which was allll water.  If I don't gain anything in the next two days I'll hit my very modest January goal, which is good, since it will be in spite of my generalized diet failure.  It would be a nice boost to the process.

Breakfast:  3.5 strips CF hickory bacon, coffee

Last of the bacon, good as always.

Lunch:  Deluxe taco bowl (1/3 lb taco meat, 1C spicy beans, cheddar, cotija, guac, jalapenos, sour cream)

Very tasty. Dunno if I'll go through the full assembly every day, but meat and beans and stuff is pretty easy when it's been prepped in advance.

Dinner:  Quick enchilada eggs, 12 oz All Day IPA

Usually if I have enchilada eggs I do a baked casserole version.  This is the quickie - 3 CF eggs scrambled in a bit of olive oil with some cooked CF breakfast sausage, add cheese and top with La Preferida organic red enchilada sauce.  Very tasty.  The sauce is the cleanest kind I've found at the store, I think I have a Frederik's that isn't bad, but most are loaded with seed oil and other garbage.  I'll get two more meals, easy, out of the sausage and sauce.

If I get home at a reasonable hour I may have a glass of milk.

Exercise:  Nope.  Another night at the office.

Water Boy

Tuesday, January 28, 2025

Dumped a little of that retained water anyway.  There is a lot more that could stand to go.

Another day.  Worked extra hours last night, didn't really do anything other than come home, wind down and go to bed.  Sleep grade for last night is a B, really no meaningful complaints other than I didn't get enough.  Just under seven hours.  I wasn't super tired when I got up.  Minor sinus irritation and headache but not consequential and they went away without issue.  I'll take it.

Another night at the office coming up I am afraid.  But that's okay, it'll be worth it to get some of these things checked off.

Breakfast:  3.5 strips CF hickory bacon, coffee

Again.

Lunch:  3 eggs sunny, spicy beans instant pot style, sharp cheddar cheese

Can't see the eggs lol but they are there.  Used up the odd quantity of beans from Sunday's batch - first time I've used the IP to shortcut the process and the results are very tasty.  Also cleaned up the cheddar so I ended up with extra beany, extra cheesy lunch.

Dinner:  Leftover meatloaf, mashed potatoes, 12 oz All Day IPA

Tasty.

Exercise:  Nope.  Work.

Disproving CICO Daily

Monday, January 27, 2025

I am always bemused by insane weight gain or loss days.  Both prove, conclusively in my eyes, that at least in the short run the calories in-calories out theory of body weight is rubbish.  I ate a lot yesterday.  Certainly several thousand calories over my base caloric burn rate.  If CICO were true, I would have gained perhaps a pound or so.  But in no universe did I eat enough to go up five or six.  Instead I'm just retaining extra water.

I take no position on the validity of CICO over the long run.  I do not have anywhere near the level of interest, let alone time, to do a serious examination.

Anyway, another Monday.  A bit of a sluggish start, sleep grade C.  Quality was okay, just not nearly enough since I don't think I got to sleep until 12:30.  Minor headache and congestion upon waking, both quickly resolved.  So a very average night.  And, as can probably be guessed, weight was way up.  Which is neither a surprise nor a big deal.  Time to do better.

Breakfast:   4 strips CF hickory bacon, coffee

Yep.

Lunch:  2 CF eggs scrambled w CF chorizo, avocado, 3 slices Land O Lakes american, a little sour cream and some jalapenos

Tasty.  Egg bowls about to become a much bigger thing.

Dinner:  2x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA

Yep.

Exercise:  Nope.  Serious work demands the next three days.

It Just Does Not Matter That Much

Sunday, January 26, 2025

As always glad to have another weekend day.  I worked a fair amount yesterday but did not come close to getting everything done so more of the same coming up this afternoon.  Laundry and cooking this morning first.  Breaking out the Instapot for the first time in a while to try making spicy beans in less time.  I like 'em when cooked low and slow but I really don't have the time today.

It was a pleasant surprise to see a lower number on the scale.  Of course I have no idea why.  I was not that active.  I ate lots of carbs - extra flour in the morning, toast at lunch, spaghetti at dinner.  I am not complaining, of course, not at all.  I do wonder if I tolerate the sourdough pasta particularly well.  Not that it matters that much when you're this fat.  But it is an enjoyable meal.

Sleep grade was a solid B.  Uneventful, got close to 8 hours (didn't get up until 7:45), was sufficiently rested.  I'm half tempted to bump the grade up, but nah.  I'll save the As for the rare days I feel really good.  But feeling decent is very pleasant.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with chive onion cream cheese, coffee

Again.  Now out of cream cheese and almost out of yogurt.  Will I buy more?  Stay tuned!

Lunch:  Italian sausage soup, grilled cheese

Neighbor made the soup, good stuff.

Also:  Chips and onions dip,  too much but it's gone.

Dinner:  Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, cheesy green beans, roll w butter, 12 oz Miller Lite, ice cream

Sunday dinners.

They also trigger me.  Add a big mac, 10pc, sprite.

Exercise:  Nope.  Unless you count stress, in which case I'm running miles.

Going Less Than Hard

Saturday, January 25, 2025

TGIS.  Even though much of the weekend will be spent at work, it's still good to have it.  Much more relaxed.

A most very average start to the day, sleep grade C.  To bed a little early, slept from just after 11 to just after 5, the very standard six hours.  Unable to just roll over today, so I ended up snoozing in the recliner for a couple hours.  Probably got a little extra sleep but it's low quality.  Unusually significant headache when I first woke up but it went away in no time.  So all around just very, very average.  Scale was down fractionally to my surprise, despite the keto bowl and too many chips and not disposing of that stuff.

Going to attempt a farm run this morning.  The plan, such as it is, is to start going harder after this weekend.  I'll probably still have tacos on Monday, but otherwise I want to see if I can get in a stretch of true low carb.  I have been wondering this morning how long it would take to fix my broken metabolic health -- at what point would I (hopefully) regain the ability to have my body deal with the occasional deviation without freaking out and retaining water like crazy?  I dunno, may be weeks, may be much longer.  But I should find out.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels, chive and onion cream cheese, coffee

First effort with the italian flour, they were fine though I should have measured.  A little lax with that, ended up using too much flour.  Still good.

Lunch:  2 CF eggs scrambled with chorizo and cheddar, 2 strips CF hickory bacon, avocado, home bread w butter

Cleaning up some stuff.  Very tasty, a bit much, and right on the edge of too much cold stuff vs hot stuff.  I prefer the hotter side of lukewarm.  So tomorrow, maybe fewer cold ingredients.

Made it to the farm and stocked up on everything except ground beef and chorizo.  I'm not crazy about their ground beef packaging and they were out of chorizo, bummer.  Got a fresh half gallon of milk from the other farm (they only do beef by the quarter or half) and I'm ready to go.

Dinner:   Spaghetti, 12 oz All Day IPA

Tasty as always.

Exercise:  Nope.

Needs A Better Curve

Friday, January 24, 2025

So glad it is Friday.

Almost not sure how to grade last night's sleep, I think I'll give it a B.  Went to bed a little early but not too much, was asleep by 11:00.  Woke up at 5:00, managed to roll over and go back to sleep but only until 5:45.  Got up and wasn't as tired as I was yesterday, but still made efforts to get more sleep which were unsuccessful.  Oh well.  It was still a decent effort, just not quite enough and not enough pep.  Or any pep for that matter.  As usual I was fine once I got moving and there was less resistance today.

Also in the unsurprising department was a small bump on the scale - no, I can't eat home pizza on a regular basis either.  I continue to dink around but need to just commit to full low carb because I'm really stuck in this range.  I have two months before a golf trip and need to lose some weight.

Breakfast:  4 strips CF hickory bacon, coffee

Better than I thought it would be.  Slices much smaller (17 to the lb compared to 12 for the last pack of cherrywood), so I had four.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Again.  Subbed jalas for the guac today, otherwise the same.  I have 24 tortillas left.

Dinner:  Keto bowl, 12 oz All Day IPA, avo oil chips

Ate too much.

Exercise:  Nope.  Need to get back on the horse.

Neverenough

Thursday, January 23, 2025

I'm not sure there is ever a point where there is enough.  Enough sleep, enough time, enough whatever.

Sleep grade is a solid B for last night.  Eight hours again and really, the only complaint is that after I got up I sat down in the recliner as usual and I was still tired.  Even a little sleepy, though I was unable to fall back asleep.  I set an alarm and gave myself that option, but it didn't happen.  As usual once I got up and moving I was fine, but it's a struggle.

Scale was surprisingly kind, despite last night's homemade pizza.  I have ingredients left so I may make another one tonight.  We'll see.

Breakfast:  3 strips CF cherrywood bacon, coffee

Last of the batch.  I have a package of hickory to cook tonight and then I'm out ... need to restock.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Standard.  Again with guac.

Dinner:  Home cracker crust pizza w/ pep mush and jala, 12 oz All Day IPA, chocolate milk

So good I made it again and this time I remembered the photo.

This is absolutely one of those meals that I would happily continue to eat if it didn't make me fat.  We'll see what the scale says tomorrow, but expectations are low.  It's also one of those meals where I'm not ready to be done eating when I'm done eating, but if I can just hold out for a little while I'll find that I'm actually comfortably full.  Same with the tacos, honestly.  I'm enjoying eating so I want to keep eating!

Exercise:  Nope.  At least I think this morning was the last of the snow for a few days.  I think we got about two feet.  It's also not nearly as cold.

Eight Is Not Enough

Wednesday, January 22, 2025

Mission partly accomplished.  I got eight hours of sleep last night.  Eight plus -- I'm not counting the dozing in the recliner after dinner.  I should have taken out my contacts so that I could sleep with impunity, but the tryptophan definitely had me snoozing.  Went to bed just after eleven and slept until 7:15.

But.

Sleep grade is only a B and that might be generous, because I was still very, very tired this morning.  I was very slow getting moving.  Fine once I did, but getting the engine turned over was a major problem.  I do not know why because everything else was a positive, eight hours, no significant wakeups, no major sinus issues, none of that stuff.  Just tired.  Scale didn't move at all, not assigning anything to that.

Anyway, we're halfway through the week and today should be the last day of the truly Arctic stuff.  So it's not all bad.  Going to try for eight again tonight.

Breakfast:  3 strips CF cherrywood bacon, coffee

 Standard.

Lunch:  Home tacos (this time + guac)

Also standard.

Dinner:  Home cracker crust pizza w pepperoni, mushrooms and jalapenos, 12 oz All Day IPA

I cannot believe I failed to take a photo.  I had my phone.  I was sure I had taken one before I cut it, but nope.  Argh.  It was very tasty.  A little bigger than my standard cracker crust.  This was an audible prompted by living in a 'hood with a lot of pizza joints scenting the air.  I again was not ready to be done eating when it was gone, but my brain is catching up with my stomach as I type this, thank goodness I have nothing snackable handy.

Expect to have a glass of chocolate milk later.

Exercise:  Nope.  Hoping tomorrow is more conducive to being out and about, it's horrible again today.

Bad Tuesday

Tuesday, January 21, 2025

Ugh.  Bad morning.  Very tired, very slow, late, no pep, no motivation, backed up, just all around BAD.  I finally cleared the backed up part mid-morning but the rest of it, not so much.  Hoping that lunch will help.

Sleep grade, can't give it better than a D.  Six hours, though I woke up after four.  The only reason that it's not failing is that those hours were fine.  Had a full leg cramp going when I got up, been a while for one of those.  Exhausted, sleepy, just not good in any way.  I blame a lot of it of course on last night's blowout, but at least both those things are gone.  Not a huge jump on the scale, and I'm sure that once I cleared things out I'd actually be down.  But no more.

Breakfast:  3 strips CF cherrywood bacon, coffee

Only one cup this morning, just couldn't do more with how I felt.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Again.  Tasty.

Dinner:  Spicy beans with True Story turkey, 12 oz All Day IPA, chocolate milk

A tasty audible for a cold cold night.

Exercise:  Nope.  Still in the deep freeze, not driving anywhere though the Y is surprisingly open.

Heavier Hand

Monday, January 20, 2025

Between the semi-holiday and the bitter cold it was a quiet morning.  Which was a very good thing, because I was not anything remotely resembling productive.

Sleep grade for last night is a reluctant D.  I'd give it a straight F if I just based it on how I felt this morning - tired when I got up, extremely slow to get going, unmotivated with even two cups of coffee making no dent.  I'll give it a passing grade for being uneventful, no extra wakeups, etc.  I just needed more of it.  No change on the scale, which is better than expected.

Otherwise, it's just another workday.

On today's title, I was unintentionally heavy handed with the hot sauce on last night's chicken and it was delicious.  I opened a fresh bottle for lunch, going to be going heavier than I have been I think.

Breakfast:  3 strips CF cherrywood bacon, orange juice, coffee

This pound of bacon only yielded 12 strips, so three per meal it is.  Also finished off the OJ.  I have some citrus in the fridge to clean up but otherwise, done I think.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Delicious.  The plan for this week is to eat these 1x/day (lunch) and eat fewer carbs at dinner by removing the tortillas.  I'll probably drink the rest of the beers that I have on hand and eat various things, but I want to stop buying things which contribute to bad eating.

Dinner:  2x mexican, 2x american tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA, popcorn

Definitely had the hunger tonight.  Also had WAY too many dry roasted peanuts and semi sweet chocolate chips.

Exercise:  Nope.  Planned to go, but it is capital N nasty, not going anywhere, not even a couple miles to the Y.

Really Need One More

Sunday, January 19, 2025

It's unfortunate that this isn't a real holiday weekend.  I could definitely use another day, but since I don't get one I'll have to make the most of today.

Was hoping to get to sleep pretty quick after I got home last night, but it was not to be.  Sleep grade a C+, got the standard six hours before I woke up, slept undisturbed, but tired when I awoke.  Moderate sinus irritation, slow start to the day.  It gets the plus only because the sleep was peaceful, otherwise is was sadly very average.  I came somewhat close to dozing off in the recliner but did not get there.  One of these days I'll get extra rest.  Scale was up again, thanks to too many carbs and despite a very active day.

Latest dietary musing that's probably completely wrong:  I think that if I eat this many carbs I eat too much fat.  If I were going to stay high carb I would need to cut the fat (while getting enough protein) and perhaps I'd gradually lose some weight.  The other alternative is to cut the carbs in which case fat is needed for fuel.  I think there may be something to the idea that it's the combo of carbs and fat that is deadly.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with cream cheese, coffee

Yeah, again.

Lunch:  Chorizo breakfast tacos

Very tasty.

Dinner:  Tequila lime chicken, spanish rice, black beans, cheddar, chips and salsa, 12 oz Coors Lite, cake and ice cream, chocolate milk

Sunday dinner birthday parties man.  Ate almost no beans and rice, but too many seed oil chips, plus dessert.

Exercise:  Going to say no.  Pretty active, did some more of the stuff I did yesterday, but not nearly as long.

Weekend Works

Saturday, January 18, 2025

It's the weekend!  Let's work!

Said nobody ever.  But it's happening.  And that's okay.  It's supposed to be a brutally cold, snowy weekend and so I'll be indoors doing something.  It would be a good thing to get more caught up.

Anyway, I crashed a little earlier than usual, going to bed around 10:30 and getting to sleep about 11:00.  Of course being unable to sleep for too long I woke up at 5:00 and was too awake to go back to sleep.  So i'm giving it a solid B -- sleep was fine, I was just out, not much dreaming.  Six hours is about the minimum effective amount, assuming it's decent quality, and it was.  Sinuses were calmed by a vapostick shot just before bed and were fine when I woke, though they weren't happy once I set about being up.  Weight was up, another sign that I need to axe the keto bowls and cut the carbs.  It's always disappointing when you've resisted plenty of temptations and cleared out a bunch of waste and the scale is still unkind.  At least when you're this fat.

Also despite what I just said, I decided that I was nervous having no flour on hand for anything at all, so I decided to pick up some 00 Italian flour (instead of the french flour I've been ordering).  They don't carry any at Meijer or Walmart, just the domestic King Arthur version.  Checked a local grocery store I remembered carrying some and not only did they, they had multiple brands!  I bought Anna since I had checked the label out beforehand (too small to read in store), but I suspect Caputo still meets my criteria.  Now if I can just not use much of it!

Note to self:  Some cuts to make - start w/ tacos 2x->1x, don't buy more beer, axe LB, make allu choc syrup.  Eat soup or eggs bowls or oven burgers or something 1x.  Clean breakfasts.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w chive and onion cream cheese, coffee

Not quite out of flour but getting close.

Lunch:  Home breakfast tacos with CF chorizo, cheddar, sour cream. 2 strips CF bacon

Tasty.  Cleaned up the bacon.  So good that psychologically I wanted to keep eating.  Didn't eat more and now a few minutes later I am pleasantly sated.  But I still have that urge.  Which is why I'm fat.

Dinner:  Spaghetti, 12 oz All Day IPA

Always good.

Exercise: Yes, although not exactly as planned.  I went to work about 1:00 planning to leave and go to the Y about 3:00, instead I spent six hours doing active stuff, moving books and furniture, and zero time working.  Not a super high intensity workout, but it was long enough and active enough that yes it counts.  Probably going to do something similar tomorrow.

Keep On Going

Friday, January 17, 2025

TGIF.  It's been a long week.  It's going to be a meh weekend since I really need to work a bunch but it's still going to be a weekend.

Sleep grade is a D.  Very late getting to sleep, well after 12:30.  I knew I had to get up earlier today, which I did, but I was awake a number of times beforehand starting sometime in the 3:00 hour.  Ugh.  Very tired but I managed to make myself get moving.  As usual I'm okay, but it's clearly not optimal.  Hoping to sleep more tonight.  Weight crept down again, which is good to see.  I'm still going to have to cut the carbs to lose seriously.

Breakfast:  Bacon, pumpkin bread w butter, orange juice, (much later) coffee

I don't think I had time to get coffee until 10:00.  Not the usual!

Lunch:  Home tacos

Forgot to grab my phone so no photo.  Same as before except I used up some Cabot cojack cracker cuts instead of opening a new package, worked just fine.  Ate the last couple slices as a supplement.

Dinner:  Keto bowl, 12 oz All Day IPA later

A different artist finished up my bowl and I hit the guac jackpot.  I do need to stop eating these, I'm sure the seed oils are off the charts.

Exercise:  Nope.  As mentioned, planned day off.  Got in some steps, certainly, but nothing at the Y and no walk for the sake of walking.

The Thumbnails Look The Same

Thursday, January 16, 2025

When I eat the same breakfast, the thumbnail photos on blogger look the same.  It amuses me.

Anyway, we're getting there.  Sleep grade for last night a D+.  Went to bed late at midnight but it was 12:45 before I fell asleep and I woke up for the first time before 4:00.  Not very restful.  Medium sinus irritation, not sure how much of a role that played.  Very tired when I had to get up a little after 7:00.  Made it through the morning fine once I got going, but I definitely need a bit more than I'm getting.  Feel decent otherwise, small drop on the scale was nice.

Breakfast:  CF applewood bacon, pumpkin bread w butter, orange juice, coffee

One piece of bread left, have to decide whether to finish it tonight or save for tomorrow's breakfast.  Then I need to be done.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Again, and again good.

Dinner:  Home tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA

On repeat.

A late glass of chocolate milk to close the day out.

Exercise:  Yes.  0.5 mi /11 min on treadmill, 30x3 twists.  25 x 10 x 3 dumbbell rows, 25s x 8 / 25s x 5 seated dumbbell press, 85 x 10 x 3 pulldowns, 25 x 10 x 3 tricep pressdowns, just over 35 minutes.  Worked up a good sweat.  Presses were hard, will have to go lighter.

Happy about the 5 day streak but tomorrow is a planned day off.  It would be nice if I could walk outside but I almost wiped out again coming out of the Y.

Get The Plan Together

Wednesday, January 15, 2025

It was not a productive morning, not at all.  Disappointing.  I need to do better.

Sleep grade was a C+.  On schedule, no trouble falling asleep, slept through until after 6:30, got 7 hours.  But still tired when I woke up, clearly not 100% rested.  Only minor sinus issues.  I was wrapping up a very vivid dream when I woke up which may have been unhelpful.  Feel good otherwise, felt relatively strong this morning.  Insignificant tick down on the scale, but I'm stuck in this range until I fix the eating.

Plan for tonight is drafted, just need to go do it.

Breakfast:  CF applewood bacon, pumpkin bread w butter, orange juice, coffee

I will finish the pumpkin bread either tonight or tomorrow morning and the OJ by the weekend.  Going to try to go back to clean low carb breakfasts.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Again.  And delicious again.  These will be harder to give up, but I think I'll probably go another week first.

Dinner:  Home tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA

Again delicious.  Hard to beat, frankly, and also so quick and easy.  It will be interesting to see if I cut some of the extraneous stuff that's pure sugar if I can still do tacos.  If I can't have them twice a day, maybe I can once a day.  We'll see.  But I have to clean things up to find out.

Later:  Chocolate milk.  Got a fresh half gallon from the farm at lunch.

Exercise:  Yes.  Not very exciting - walk 0.5 mi/11.5 min, twists 30x3, calf raises 15x3, planks 15s x 2 (wasn't happy with my form), exercise bike.  Just over 30 minutes, not super intense but oddly sweated more.  It counts.
