Days Of Sustained Success Zero

Wednesday, October 18, 2023

Well, at least today is off to a better start after yesterday's complete fail.  Got up, out the door at 6:00.  Walked and had a solid morning at work.  Going okay.  I did not even pay too steep a price for yesterday's utter debacle.

Musing today on what it would take to have a successful day at this point.  Really, what I'm looking for is simple.  First, get in that exercise.  Preferably walking.  At least 20 minutes.  Second, no binges.  Nothing wrong with a hearty lunch and a healthy dinner, even a snack if needed, but stop the binging.  Third, and this is more for the future than immediately, have at least one of the two meals be super low carb.  Over the longer term that should be both, but let's start with one.  I still have stuff to eat up - tortillas, potatoes, hash browns, bread - that I probably will.  But if I start with one meal, say, next week, that would be good.  And if I can get a string of successful days going it wouldn't be the end of the world to have a birthday party as long as my other meal was clean.

Lunch:  Home breakfast tacos (egg, chorizo, cheese, peppers and onions, sour cream, hot sauce, corn tortillas), a few avo oil chips

Cleaned up a package of tortillas, one of peppers and onions and the bag of chips.  Very tasty.  I'll need to get more chorizo from the farm.  Take away the tortillas and this would be quite acceptable.

Dinner:  Home oven burgers, mashed potatoes TCD style, 12 oz All Day IPA, mixed nuts, Breyers natural vanilla ice cream

CF baconator burgers again, good stuff even if it is more expensive at $11/lb.

Exercise:  Walk, 1.75 miles, 42 minutes.  Standard loop, standard very slow pace.  No pep, some stiffness and aches/pains to start, though I didn't feel too bad by the end.

Consecutive successful day count:  A fairly shaky 1  (super low carb meal requirement not kicked in yet)

I will probably need to add another criterion -- did I stay within my eating window.  I did not tonight, it's after 8:00 and I just finished.  I didn't start fixing dinner until after 6:30, there was no way I was going to have it ready to eat before 7:00.  I'll have to think about this, is it too strict.
