Potatoes Over Corn

Friday, June 27, 2025

Glad it is Friday.  Even though it's been a comparatively light week at work and I haven't done anything too ambitious at home I'm still ready for a weekend.

Went to bed at a very reasonable time but did not get to sleep right away.  Lazed about this morning and was quite late.  It's unfortunate that I enjoy that lazing a bit too much.  Need to do less of it.

Scale was fine, back down after yesterday's blip up.  It's funny, I essentially ate the same thing both days, other than I had a pile of fries (seed oil yuck) yesterday versus Maiz chips on Wednesday.  Sure there were some minor differences, but not much.  But I didn't hold on to the water yesterday.  Part of that may be the fact that the fries were really not salted at all versus salty chips, dunno.  But for now the lol not serious takeaway is that potatoes are better than corn.

On a super unrelated note, I've been scrolling back through the archives lately.  Sure miss a couple of my favorites - the old taco salad, the omelet with a side of sausage patties, the prior version of the local pizza place.  There is always good food to eat - see, for example, yesterday's burger - but you definitely don't always get exactly what you want.  I'd love a local version of Qdoba/Chipotle that doesn't use seed oil, a couple quality breakfast places (too many use Sysco shortcuts and seed oils) and then I'd be in pretty good shape for eating out regularly.

Breakfast:  Cabot sharp cheddar, coffee

Again.  Fast and convenient, also seems to be doing a good job of having something in the stomach before coffee and holding things without issue until lunch time.

Lunch:  Wendy's Double

Spent most of my lunch hour going to the farm for milk and strawberries.

Dinner:  3 eggs over hardish, 4 NR bacon sausage links, Great Lakes salt and vinegar chips, 12 oz Miller Lite

Bummer, the store was out of the bacon sausage, will probably be a few weeks before they restock too.  I did score some maple, hopefully it's good.

Thinking about having a second beer.

Exercise:  Nope.
