Acceptability

TGIS.  I thought I would crash early last night having been up since 3:00 am, but surprisingly I did not.  I certainly could have, but I got wrapped up in something -- how sad is it that I don't even remember what -- and it was after 9:00 before I even looked up.  I'm sure it was something mundane, like looking up ingredients in store-bought enchilada sauce and Mexican breakfast recipes for tomorrow.

Woke up at 4:00, but was able to roll over and go back to sleep until almost 5:30.  I felt worse than I did when I first woke up but it wasn't bad.  Just a little sleepy.  And I was out of caffienated coffee.  Oops.

Anyway, slow start to the day, but very glad to have a weekend.  Lots and lots of things to do today.

Breakfast:  2 buttermilk pancakes with butter and maple syrup, "5" strips CF cherrywood bacon, orange juice, coffee


A tasty and easy (since the pancakes were the last of my previous batch from the freezer) weekend treat.

Lunch:  Smoked brisket, Primal Kitchen unsweetened classic BBQ sauce

 
Grocery store brisket.  Notably better than the last time I got it.  Tried the PK sauce, it's fine.  Kicked it up with some hot sauce and it was even better.  I got 3 fat slices (cut in half so it looks like six slices in the photo) of brisket for my eight bucks, could only eat two so I have leftovers.  I felt bad for the guy ahead of me in line who got the large order, which is twice the cost, I'm not sure he got twice the meat.

Will also have spicy jalapeno Good Crisps later, because like a dummy I bought some.

ETA:  At least I ate fewer than usual.

Dinner:  Sourdough fusili with meat sauce, 12 oz All Day IPA, chocolate milk

 
Last of the sauce, I got some bulk italian sausage at the farm this morning for the next batch.  Will probably add more tomato next time too.  I will say that I'm comfortably full and may be able to decrease quantities a bit (!)

Exercise:  Nope.  Active, but not scheduled.  Edit:  Strike that, emphatic YES.  A good couple hours of moving files and file cabinets.  Solid physical workout.
