Deflating Inflating

Sunday, January 18, 2026

Another spike on the scale today.  Again, yesterday wasn't great eating wise, but I did not think it was as terrible as the day that gave me the prior spike.  A little frustrating.  But only so much.  I have to be realistic, that as long as my diet is questionable and I'm not active there is a daily risk of inflation.

Nothing else of note.  Did not have a great night of sleep.  BP in range.  Won't be a day of chores and rest, more like chores and work and rest, but the work project I have in mind should pay dividends.

Going to the store shortly for eggs and milk, I think I have enough returnables.  If not, I realized that I have a dollar's worth of rewards I can redeem.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with cream cheese, coffee

One thing that would force a carb cut would be running out of flour.  I probably have 1 1/3 lb of this 2 lb bag left, plus a little spelt, but it'll go fast if I keep using it every day.  Out of whipped cream cheese, but I had an open block of regular in the fridge.

Lunch:  CF brisket cheddar link w mustard, Jesse and Ben's tallow fries, Meijer hot kosher dill pickle

Cleaned up the links and fries, getting low on the pickles.

Dinner:  Tequila-lime chicken, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, black beans, spanish rice, chips and salsa, 12 oz Miller Lite, peanut butter pie, a scoop of Tillamook mint chip and 80% dark chocolate

Sunday dinners.  Birthday party.  Ate too much but I'm not uncomfortable.

And the capper, a glass of whole milk.

Exercise:  Nope.

Dollars Spent / Consecutive Days:  $ 0 / 17.

Actual total spend was negative $1.46.  I had $8.30 in returnables plus $1.00 in store rewards.  I "spent" $7.84 on a gallon of milk, 18 eggs and some crushed red pepper.  Considered getting hash browns, but they are expensive and I have a five pound bag of potatoes to cook up today.  I'll just eat mash.  Applied the $1.46 to the purchase of a birthday card, with gift spent about $30.00.
