Three Hour Release

Saturday, January 3, 2025

Well that was a rather successful first day.  Water release kicked in late in the day and a great deal departed.  Yeesh.  I also learned overnight that when in major release mode you need to go every three hours.  Which is fine with me, I'm happy to see it depart.

While the work hours weren't great and I didn't feel too swell, after having some dinner I perked up.  I was pleased to eat the planned quantity, which left me satisfied.  I wasn't super full, I wasn't hungry.  And I did not have any additional urge to eat anything.  I had lots of time to get it digested before sleep.  And I had enough pep to do a few chores around the house, picking up, dishes, that sort of thing.  Nothing hard, but things that are easy to let go when you're struggling.  I am optimistic.  Slept adequately, though I would have liked a couple more hours - couldn't quite get back to sleep after six hours.

About the only negative was a still way too high BP reading, but even that was slightly improved.  I'm expecting it to come down with improved diet and the dropping of weight, but it's something to monitor.

Let's keep it going.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels, chive and onion cream cheese, coffee, 1/2 grapefruit

Experimented with doing them in the air fryer. Other than I think they needed to be flipped, turned out fine.  Oh, and I'd flatten them more or maybe even make them bagel shaped.  This was actually less flour than usual (1/2 C), they puffed up pretty good.

Grapefruit was past its prime, but okay.  Something different and one less thing in the fridge.

Lunch:   3 eggs scrambled, leftover ham in butter, mashed potatoes

Used up a runt mash from the last batch, one less thing in the freezer ... which is about to be crammed full of soup.  Very tasty, maybe even better than with hash browns.

Dinner:  12 oz Miller Lite, home hamburger vegetable soup, homemade bread w butter

We'll see how it does out of the freezer, but there is a chance that this my best batch of soup ever.  Simmered a bit longer and thickened with some Bob's Red Mill instant potato flakes.  Just perfect texture.  Found a recipe for a mini loaf of bread using only 120g of flour, so I made that.  Pretty good.

And the capper, windmill cookies and whole milk.

Exercise:  Nope.  Moderately active, but nothing dedicated yet.
