De-Planned, Un-Planned, No Planned

Saturday, September 30, 2023

Really glad that it is Saturday.  It is also the last day of the month, one that was full of FAIL.  It's only ~ 9:00 am when I'm starting this but I am already in a mood.

What's really getting me is wondering how I am ever supposed to plan on anything.  I spent a fair amount of time yesterday thinking about getting out for a walk this morning.  I was even looking forward to it - early Saturday mornings are quite peaceful and I don't like company.  But then stupid shit happened.

After dinner last night I noted that my heart rate was elevated.  Notably faster than normal.  When I did my evening meds and took BP it was at 87, which is the highest number I've recorded in the two months plus that I've been doing it.  Had a bit of a headache and just felt off.   I went to bed not long after the usual time, got to sleep about 10:00 ... and woke up at 11:30.  Pulse still high.  Felt higher, actually than it was - it measured at 77 when I took it.  After a couple hours of sitting in the recliner and doomscrolling I felt sufficiently better to go back to bed, but it was after 2:00 before I went back to sleep.  Do you think there was any chance I was going to get up and walk?  Of course not.  Though I did wake up about 5:30.  Ended up getting up after 7:00.  Pulse this morning was higher than usual but still much lower than last night and at the bottom end of the standard range, so at least there is that.  Can't say I feel great or even good but hopefully I can kick myself out the door in a while.

Aargh.

Breakfast:  Breakfast tacos, coffee

Used up the last of my tortillas, 2 eggs, peppers and onions, cheese, hot sauce.  Simple and delicious.  Finished off my jar of picante sauce and sour cream last night, so it's been a good stretch of cleanup.

Also of note, excellent satiety.

Lunch:  Taco salad, al pastor.  Jack's Paleo Kitchen double chocolate cookies

Might be the last time for the salad for a while, too carby.  Tastes good though.  The cookies were an impluse buy from the clearance/short dated bakery rack.  Tasty, but carby and I'd never pay full retail.  60% off made them enticing.

Dinner:  Home pepperoni pizza, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers chocolate ice cream

Bought a different brand of pepperoni this week.  Thick cut.  Good as usual.  Cleaned up last week's ice cream.

Exercise:  Nope.  As indicated above, FAIL.

Some Call It Maiz

Friday, September 29, 2023

The end of the week and almost of the month.  Glad to be here, glad to be 10 weeks post surgery, now if I can just kick it into gear in every possible way.

I stopped at the health food store at lunch to pick up some Siete chips as incentive to eat the jar of soup that was waiting and I noticed they have started carrying the Siete avo oil tortilla chips.  I didn't buy a bag - spotted them too late - but I will definitely try them.  I really like the Masa chips and have a number of bags left but at >$10/bag they are probably not something I'm going to have on hand too often.  Avo oil isn't tallow but it's also not canola.

Failure again at sleep and exercise.  I was in bed on time, but could not get to sleep so I got up and watched the end of the first half of the football game.  Put me an hour plus behind.  I did wake up before the alarm about 5:15 but did not kick myself out the door.  Just straight up FAIL.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal, coffee

Made it through the morning, thankfully.  During that process I did decide that I really should go back to 2MAD, especially during the week.  And also cut the carbs and do something to avoid the meltdowns.  We'll see how any of that goes.  Although I'm not sure that the oatmeal has anything to do with me gaining given all the other crap I eat I'm also not sure it does anything for my blood pressure.

Lunch:  Soup, Siete jala lime tortilla chips

This batch of soup is merely okay.  Chips were excellent though.

Dinner:  Home tacos, Snyders cheddar cheese pretzel sandos, apple cider glazed donut holes, 12 oz Miller Lite

I very much broke rule #1 of grocery shopping.  Doh.

Exercise:  Nope.  Another day of failure in a week full of it.

More Great Post TItles Forgotten Today

Thursday, September 28, 2023

Sigh.

I was closer this morning.  I went to bed a half hour earlier last night, a trend I hope to continue.  I woke up at 5:00 or so in advance of the alarm.  Got up once in the middle of the night, but went right back to sleep.  Not bad.  Except I woke up with a low ox headache and felt lousy enough that I could not push myself out the door.  Frustrating.  A little concerned with this mornings pulse and blood pressure, too.  All in all, not great.  I did get out the door to work on time which was good as I had early business.

Eating was a major fail.  I'm just trying to limp through to the weekend at this point.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal, coffee

That part was fine.  The 2x Egg McMuffins at 9:30, not so much.

Lunch:  2x deluxe, 1x meat lovers slices, later 2x TB chix enchilada burritos

Ugh.

Dinner:  Ham, salami and cheese grinder, garlic cheese bread w pizza sauce, 12 oz Miller Lite, a few Masa chips.

Mega ugh.

Exercise:  Nope.  Fat.

Pushing For Routines

Wednesday, September 27, 2023

Another day of less than stellar everything, though as a I write this at noon it is still far better than yesterday.

Got to sleep on time, woke up about 4:15, didn't get up until 7:30.  Wasn't as sound asleep as yesterday in the recliner, but close enough.   I do not know why I need so much sleep right now, but getting going is proving to be very, very difficult.  The scale, predicably, was unkind and I deserved every bit of it.

On the plus side, I did have a moderately productive morning, and during the non-productive time I actually had some good thoughts. Mostly about routines and the power of routine.  Did a first draft of an updated daily routine sheet I can post on the fridge.  I can work on the weekend chore version tonight, maybe.  If I can keep it manageable, great, I think it's got a chance.

Going to cut this short and run to Walmart at lunch for a new alarm clock.  Going to try and kick the phone out of the bedroom for good tonight.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal, coffee

Time to shorthand, too much work to type soaked oatmeal with butter and maple syrup when I am eating the same thing every day - the only difference is whether it's re-heated, which todays was.

Lunch:  3 CF eggs scrambled w a few peppers and onions, hash browns, sour cream

Basic breakfast bowl.  I have quite a few hash browns on hand, once I've eaten through those I may try to do without in order to cut the carbs.

Dinner:  Masa chips and guac, 12 oz Miller Lite, home tacos

Pleasantly surprised by how the Masa chips took the edge off my hunger.  Same toppings as usual on the home tacos, except I forgot hot sauce.  I have two more rounds worth of tortillas in the package and just made taco meat tonight so I see more in my future.

Exercise:  Nope.  Going to try again with enthusiasm to go to bed even earlier so that I can hopefully push myself out the door in the morning.

Abject Failure Of Everything

Tuesday, September 26, 2023

Yikes.  Just an all around massive FAIL of a day.

I went to bed on time.  Early even.  Went to sleep on time.  Early, even.  Out before 9:30.  Woke up at 5:00, still tired.  Moved to the recliner and was OUT cold right away.  Not the usual half snoozing, I was out, in REM sleep, dreaming.  Very grudgingly woke up and got up by 7:30.

I had hopes that the sleep would allow for a productive day at least.  NOPE.  Total fail.  Very little was accomplished and energy and motivation flatlined throughout the day.  Abysmal.

AWFUL eating.  I just quit.

No exercise, either.  It was supposed to rain today but nothing yet and it's after dinner when I'm finally typing this up.  FAIL.

Not accomplishing a single thing this evening from the to do list.  UGH.

Tomrrow needs to be a whole lot better.

Breakfast:  Leftover oatmeal w butter and maple syrup, coffee

Yeah.

Lunch:  McD 2x QPC, 2x McChicken

FAIL.

Snack:  Snyders nacho pretzel twists.

FAIL.

Dinner:  TB 2x chip chx ranch burrito, chx ench burrito, chips/chz, root beer

EPIC FAIL.

Exercise:  Nope.  FAIL.

Had A Great Title With The Word Trifecta

Monday, September 25, 2023

As usual I thought up a great title for today's post early this morning ... and have completely forgotten it by the time lunch rolls around and I get a chance to start it.  Oh well.  I do remember that it contained the word "trifecta", in reference to multiple levels of FAIL yesterday.

I did not get to bed quite on time, though it was not bad.  But I did not go directly to sleep.   I dawdled before putting down the phone.  Need to stop that.  And I ate too much, too late.  Also need to stop that.  Maybe that's the trifecta of FAIL.  Needless to say I was not perky when I woke up this morning, first about 3:15, then about 6:00.  I slept until the alarm went off at 7:00 and even then was dozy.  Major fail.  I need to force myself to stay on schedule.  There is a window the next couple weeks as Sunday dinners will be a little different, but we'll see.

I guess I should be happy that I was only up a little after yesterday's fail, but my giddiness is tempered by the knowledge that a lot of stuff was processed to keep it that way.  Sigh.

Breakfast:  Soaked oatmeal w butter and maple syrup, coffee

A fresh batch, once again turned out fine.  It still remains to be seen if my body will tolerate this many carbs, but I'm going to give it a fair chance.

Oh, and speaking of carbs, I ate the rest of the Gardetto's mix late morning.  Bleah.

Lunch:  Leftover enchilada eggs, 3 slices swiss cheese, home bread w butter

Yep.  Cleaned up the package of swiss while waiting on the reheat.

Dinner:  3x american 2x mexican tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers chocolate ice cream

Ordered an extra mexican, got an extra american /shrug.  Deffo have the hunger today.  Yeesh.

Exercise:  Nope.  Plans went awry.  And it's supposed to rain the next two days.

The OK Feels

Sunday, September 24, 2023

Glad to have another weekend day, even if the plan is to walk to work after breakfast for a few hours of "fun".  I was actually kind of surprised at how much down time I had yesterday afternoon - I was fairly wiped out so I didn't have too much initiative, but still.  Got kinda restless.

Speaking of restless, or not, I got another reasonable night of sleep.  I was delayed a few minutes getting to sleep, but it wasn't that much after 9:30.  Woke up at 4:15 but not as urgently as usual so I didn't get up until 5:15.  Made the plan to walk to work instead of doing a loop first thing, I'm still OK with that plan - less intense but still gets it in.  I'm a little beat up this morning after yesterday but definitely not as bad as last Sunday.

Bigger jump on the scale than I was expecting tbqh.  Not worrisome, just a momentary bother.  Given that I thought I was a bit less bloated I was not thinking that would be likely.  Oh well.  Gotta get the diet fixed.  OK.  Just not today.

Breakfast:  Pancakes w butter and maple syrup, CF sausage links, coffee

Not the best job on reheating the pancakes, still delicious though.

Lunch:  Enchilada eggs, home bread w butter

A pretty good way to clean a few things up -- the package of sausage "links" from the farm (no casings, just formed), the jar of enchilada sauce, this week's package of mexicheese, etc.  And very tasty.  With leftovers for tomorrow -- made a half batch, since I didn't have enough stuff for a full.  But it worked out great.  Had another heel of yesterday's bread and saved out a couple slices for tomorrow and maybe Tuesday too.

Also:  A ton of Gardettos snack mix.  Doh.  And it wasn't even notably good.

Dinner:  Steak, salad, Lays chips, vanilla ice cream w choc syrup

Sunday dinners.  Also: 2x TB chicken enchilada burrito

Exercise:  Walks, 15+15 minutes (actually did them in 14 and 12 - getting faster) to/from work.  Only got in 5k steps today, but it counts.

Starch Filled Saturday

Saturday, September 23, 2023

And we are off.  Off to a good start.  Got to bed nice and early last night, was asleep by 9:30.  Woke up about 2:15, it took almost an hour, I think, to get back to sleep, but then slept until 5:45 so I figure I got eight hours.  It felt like reasonably good sleep.  No crazy dreams, nothing unusual.  Felt okay when I got up and was able to push myself out the door fairly quickly.

Lots to do today, we will see how the motivation holds up.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with very veggie cream cheese, coffee

Standard.  One that needs to be retired or at least greatly reduced.  If I treated weekend eating like weekday eating I'm sure I'd be better off.  Maybe once I eat up the yogurts I bought yesterday I'll switch to doing oatmeal on weekends too.

Lunch:  Taco salad, al pastor

Solid as usual.  Another thing I should move away from, however.

Dinner:  Home cheese pizza, 12 oz Miller Lite.  Also had bread crusts and butter, a bowl of vanilla greek yogurt earlier and will have a bowl of chocolate Breyers ice cream shortly

I didn't like the look of my sack of pepperonis so I tossed them and just had a cheese pizza.  Turned out delightful again.  Really happy three weeks in a row.  Otherwise, a little grazing.  Sliced up the loaves of bread I baked earlier today and ate the odd crusts.

Ate a little too much today, especially too much starch.

Exercise:  Walk, 1 hour 10 minutes.  Pedometer app says just over 8,000 steps and 3.4 miles.  There is something off about that distance, but whatever.  I added another 8 or 10 blocks to my route from last Saturday.  I was somewhat fatigued 45 minutes in but didn't have any difficulty finishing.  Pace overall felt slow, more aches and pains than I had on Thursday and just didn't feel as free.  Anyway, glad to get it in, it was a beautiful morning.

Gut Check

Friday, September 22, 2023

TGIF.  Not much zip today so far, it was a decidedly unproductive morning.  Most of that relates to dread of a work obligation this afternoon, but still, not much energy is not helping.

Felt like I got a decent night of sleep.  Stayed on schedule, I was quite ready to go to bed.  In by 9:00, asleep not long after 9:30.  Woke up around 5:30, it was nice not to have a wake up in the middle.  Which was a surprise, given that I had ample liquids late yesterday.  I guess the scale reflected that fact.  But okay.  Did not get up, in fact I lazed about until after 7:00.

As I tweak my diet I think I'm going to need to monitor my abdomen.  It is quite bloated at the moment, a lot of this year's weight gains are concentrated right there.  Not always the case at this weight but it is right now.  Probably need to axe the milk, cut the carbs - especially the grains - and exercise consistently to do something about it.

Breakfast:  Leftover oatmeal with butter and maple syrup, Great Value vanilla greek yogurt, coffee

Just before I went to bed I looked at the carton of yogurt I bought yesterday and realized that I did not get plain.  I got vanilla.  With lots of added sugar.  DOH.  Idiot.  That's what I get for buying at Wal Mart for the first time and not paying enough attention to what I was doing.

Lunch:  Leftover enchilada eggs, leftover lazy bagels with very veggie cream cheese

Once again good.  Really, really good.  I love the enchilada eggs.  May have to give up the lazy bagels, but on this occasion they hit the spot.  Reheated well too.

Dinner:  Home tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers chocolate ice cream

Bought some Meijer organic jar jalas, otherwise same as yesterday.  Bought the ice cream last week, broke it out since it was downright summerlike out there today.  Also, confirmed that I like these tortillas better than Guerrero or La Banditeria.

Exercise:  Nope.  As mentioned, I slept in.  I got in a very short walk of a couple blocks and a big flight of stairs, and I walked around Meijer, but nah, not counting it.

All Distances Approximate

Thursday, September 21, 2023

Off to an early start.  I woke up a little before 3:30 and didn't get back to sleep.  Pushed myself out the door about 5:30 and got in a satisfactory walk.  Going to make some soaked oatmeal and hopefully get to work on time for once.  I move so slow.  I will say that I was disappointed that nobody was frying bacon this morning, there are two restaurants along the route that could have been.

I believe the flow of liquid has finally abated.  Not nearly as many trips late yesterday to get rid of it.  Which is okay, I guess, though I have plenty more that could still go.  We'll see if I can slice the carbs a bit.  Eventually.

Breakfast:  Soaked oatmeal with butter and maple syrup, coffee

Fresh batch.  Was going to try lemon juice as my acid but I liked the ACV version enough to do that again.

Lunch:  Leftover enchilada eggs, lazy bagels w very veggie cream cheese

So nice, I ate it twice.  And, uh, will again tomorrow.

Dinner:  Home tacos, gin and Q light tonic, SF vanilla pudding

Pretty similar to yesterday.  Different kind of tortillas, though, I found a package from a local company, I think it's the one the mexican place down the street uses.  Anyway, they're good.

Exercise:  Walk, 39 minutes.  Pedometer app said 2.4 miles, but I think I've clocked it at 1.8 previously using an actual pedometer.  That would also be more consistent with my pace, which was much better than it was on Saturday.  Anyway, it was a little over 5,000 steps, so that's a good thing.  I worked up a bit of a sweat and took on a couple hills, including the one that was too much at first during this recovery.

Good Fives

Wednesday, September 20, 2023

Today got off to a good start*.  I walked outside to go to work and found a five dollar bill lying on the grass.  It had obviously been there for a while, since it was wet from the autosprinklers.  But still, five is five.  And I also got rid of five pounds of water.  So that's good too.

I did not, however, kick myself out the door.  I woke up at 3:00 (stupid water) and was pretty awake.  It took almost an hour to fall back asleep, then I was more or less out until the alarm went off at 7:00.  Definitely not as rested, the quality of the sleep wasn't as good, especially in the second phase.  If the first wakeup hadn't been quite so early I would have stayed up, but trying to do the day on five hours or so did not seem too advisable.  Otherwise, it's been an okay morning.

* other than not walking.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal w/ butter and maple syrup, coffee

Same.  It was interesting to me that I got rid of all that water despite having oats for breakfast and some wheat flour for dinner.  It may be that I can tolerate a little more starch than I thought.  Not as much as I usually eat, of course, but more than zero.

Lunch:  Leftover enchilada eggs, lazy bagels w vey veggie cream cheese

Easy.  The bagels take too long, but I wanted something to go with the smallest of the leftover eggs.

Dinner:  Home tacos, gin and Q light tonic, SF chocolate pudding

Tacos were great, predinner G&T meh.  Out of beer, so it was what I had.

Exercise:  Nope.  Still haven't figured it out. Somewhere in there is an hour a day.

Sorta Partial Credit

Tuesday, September 19, 2023

One small bit of progress.  I managed to go to bed early last night.  Woke up a little after 5:00 after something approaching eight hours of sleep (minus a couple trips to get rid of water) and actually felt somewhat rested and decent.  I'm never perky in the morning, but I did not feel the usual fatigue of the perpetually sleep-deprived.  Gives me hope that I'll be able to continue.  Sleep needs to be a priority.  I almost felt good enough to kick myself out the door to walk.  Just not quite.  Something to build on.

Evening note, holy crap did I move a lot of water today.  You'd think I was starting low carb.  Crazy.  At the same time, from looking at my leg, I have plenty that I could still stand to lose.

Breakfast:  Leftover soaked oatmeal, coffee

Repeat was fine.

Lunch:  Soup, 3 slices of swiss cheese

First jar from the most recent batch, was okay.  Fighting off the urge to break open the Masa chips.

Dinner:  Enchilada eggs, lazy bagels w Tillamook very veggie cream cheese, 12 oz All Day IPA

Tasty.  Eggs with hot sausage, fajita veg, jalapenos, Meijer Frederik's enchilada sauce and mexicheese.  Fred's appears to have no soybean oil - sure, it's 3x more expensive than Old El Paso, but I can afford four bucks.  If I spot it on sale I'll buy it again.  And I have egg leftovers for lunch the rest of the week.

Would have been better if I'd had this prepared already since it's pushing 7:45 and I just finished eating.

Exercise:  Nope.  Kinda bummed about that.  I probably could have forced myself this morning but I didn't.  Going to try and keep the early to bed rolling tonight in hopes that I'll again feel pretty decent at 0 dark 30.

Delay Of Game With Penalty

Monday, September 18, 2023

Okay then.  Did not quite get the start I hoped for, instead I got the start I expected.  I was awake shortly after 5:00 but not rested as I predictably did not get to sleep on time last night.  And so I did not get up and get moving until 7:30.  No time for a morning walk.

I had set out all the stuff for breakfast, so I did manage to follow my plan there.  I was a few minutes late as a result but not enough to matter.  So I guess it was an OK morning.

Also predictable, the scale was way up after yesterday's shenanigans.  Just gross eating.  Which is going on hiatus today - I won't be perfect but it's time to squash those binges.

Breakfast:  Soaked oatmeal with butter and maple syrup, coffee

Going to see if oatmeal works as a breakfast and if it has any impact on my blood pressure.  Prepared it the WAP way, with an overnight soak -- I used apple cider vinegar for the acid, with a few rye flakes.  Turned out quite good, though I drizzled a bit more maple syrup than intended.  Oops.

Lunch:  3 eggs scrambled w peppers and onions, hash browns in avo oil, sour cream

A pretty standard breakfast for lunch bowl.  Very tasty.

Dinner:  2x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA, SF butterscotch pudding

Tasty and a couple of the tacos were pretty FAT.  Decided to mix it up and have a little pudding, hoping that it'll help knock me out early tonight.

Exercise:  Nope.  FAIL.  I even had an idea for after work, but was too hungry and rather tired.  I really lack discipline right now.

The Body's Revenge

Sunday, September 17, 2023

My body wanted desperately to go to bed about 8:30 last night.  By 9:30 it was very unhappy.  But I let my mind, in the form of the largely pointless desire to watch football on TV, overrule it.  I didn't end up going to bed until almost 11:00.  And I paid for it.  Woke up at 4:30 again, yikes.  Felt awful   Went back to sleep, woke up at 6:00.  NOPE.  Moved to the recliner and finally made myself get up when it was almost 9:00.  Awful.  Horrible.  No good.

I do not know if I would have been able to walk this morning regardless, I was pretty fatigued yesterday evening.  But getting up on less than six hours sleep and walking the day after my longest walk since the surgery?  No chance.  We'll see if I can work in a little exercise at some point today -- now that it's 10:00 and I'm cleaned up and had a cup of coffee I feel a little better.

Was pleasantly surprised to see a small drop on the scale this morning, despite the pizza, the dessert, the massive taco salad and the lazy bagels.  I did cycle through a lot of water.  Anyway, good thing.

Breakfast:  Leftover deluxe pizza, meijer cinnamon rolls, coffee

Friday night's leftovers.  Reheated nicely.  I could add a couple laps around the grocery store to yesterday's exercise total, but the downside was I bought a couple items of junk.  At least once I clean these up I'm out.  Hopefully I can stay that way.

Lunch:  Chipotle barbacoa bowl

Tasty as usual.  Timing was wonky, I would have preferred to eat later, but sometimes geography dictates timing.  I could solve that, of course, by eating at home.  Which would also avoid a bunch of seed oil.

Dinner:  Brat MR, chips, salad, corn on the cob w butter, vanilla ice cream w choc sauce

Sunday dinner.

Also:  2x Big Mac, Mchix

Exercise:  Nope.  Once again did some shopping (thankfully I didn't buy any junk) and got in some walking that way, but it doesn't really count.  If I can not overeat tonight and get good sleep, I have hopes of starting the week off right.

Ah Short Steps

Saturday, September 16, 2023

Whew.  TGIS.  I ate too much last night, went to bed too late.  Was worried about not sleeping well but it turned out that slept well enough.  Woke up about 4:30 and didn't end up going back to sleep.  Pushed myself out the door at 6:00, I'm home, cleaned up and ready to get cranked up.

Good start.  We'll see how the rest of it goes.

Paid a very small price on the scale for yesterday's abysmal eating.  I have next week mapped out and did pretty well at the grocery store so I'm optimistic that I'll be doing better.  Not so much today, of course, but it's coming.

Breakfast:   Lazy bagels w very veggie cream cheese, coffee

Why is yogurt so expensive when milk is so cheap?  I guess some of it was I had to buy Fage since there hasn't been any Meijer brand (half the price) on the shelf the last three or four weeks.  I'm lucky if there is any Fage or other brand.

Lunch:  Taco salad, al pastor

Notably better than last week and it took me a while to figure out why ... I'm about 99% sure they gave me chorizo instead last week.  I am absolutely stuffed.

Dinner:  Home pepperoni pizza, 12 oz All Day IPA, Haagen Dazs butter cookie cones

Really tasty pizza.  I did not do so well at the store today.  Large coupon on the cones so I bought a box.  They are tasty but I'd never ever pay the stock price, or even think about it.  I'd rather just have plain old ice cream.

Exercise:  Walk, 1 hour 2 minutes, pedometer app says 2.4 miles.  A few small hills, went OK but I definitely felt it on the last one.  My original planned route was even longer but I lopped off a segment and I'm glad I did.  This was the right amount - I can definitely tell I was out there and I'm a little fatigued but not to the limit.  We will see how tomorrow goes.

I figured out why my distance was so short last week (today wasn't quite as bad but still short) -- my stride length is notably shorter than usual, so step count equals less distance.  Some of that is recovery, but it's also attributable to it being 0 dark 30 and me not wearing glasses.  Being vey careful of my footing.  Oh, and the aches and pains associated with being super fat and out of shape.  Those were mildly annoying but not debilitating.

I Think I've Used Garbage In Before

Friday, September 15, 2023

Whew.  Rough finish to a long week.

Very glad it's the weekend.

Breakfast:  Panera 2x asiago bagel with cream cheese, coffee

Tasty.

Lunch:  McD 2x Big Mac, 2x McChix

Sigh.

Dinner:  Deluxe pizza, 12 oz All Day IPA, Tillamook mint chip ice cream

Mega sigh.  Ate way too much.

Exercise:  Not really, did do a full 30 minutes at the grocery store.

Dumptrucked

Thursday, September 14, 2023

Sigh.  Glad tomorrow is Friday.

I need to ramp up the intensity.  But later, after I go make soup.

Breakfast:  TB sausage crunchwrap, coffee

Fail.

Lunch:  Soup, lazy bagels with very veggie cream cheese

Made another half batch, used up the last of my yogurt.  Tasty but they take too long for lunch.

Dinner:  Ham, salami and cheese sub, garlic cheese bread w pizza sauce, avo oil jalapeno chips, 12 oz All Day IPA, Tillamook mint chip

Wildly excessive.  FAIL.

Exercise:  Nope.  Need to really get going but probably not until this weekend.  Also changing up breakfast plans.

Small Bumps

Wednesday, September 13, 2023

Not a major gain, just a small bump from yesterday's dietary indescretions.  And utter failure at exercise.

More of the same today, I am afraid.  I have a business dinner out, so I'll eat more and be up later than I would like.  I was very tired this morning, did not feel like I slept well and had a headache.  I got into bed earlier last night but utterly failed at unplugging and going to sleep.  That is very much a work in progress.

Breakfast:  2 slices double cheddar, coffee

And I ate the rest of the Dot's pretzels a bit later.  Not that many left after yesterday.

Lunch:  Home tacos, lazy bagels with very veggie cream cheese

Needed to eat up the thawed taco meat (since I used freshly made last night) so it was tacos instead of soup.  I'll eat the soup tomorrow.  Correctly figured I'd still have the hunger so I made a half batch of lazy bagels.

Dinner:  Smothered chopped steak, mashed potatoes, garlic toast, veg beef soup, 2x16 oz Labatt

Very tasty.  I especialy liked the cup of soup, loaded with chunks of beef.

Also:  2x BK cheeseburger

Exercise:  Nope.  Idiot.

Can't Outrun Fast Food

Tuesday, September 12, 2023

Sigh.  At least it was fairly productive at work.  And I got rid of a LOT of water.  I was less wiped out this morning, got a little more sleep.  I still need to go to bed a lot earlier, but it was a step in the right direction.

Now, about that eating...  and that blood pressure...

Breakfast:  2x egg mcmuffin, hash brown, coffee

Yeah, had a blood draw so I got food after that.  Idiot.

Lunch:  TB 2x chix enchilada burrito, chipotle chix burrito, Dot's pretzels

Too many pretzels.  Zero would have been ideal.

Dinner:  Home tacos w cheese, pace picante sauce, sour cream, 12 oz All Day IPA, Tillamook mint chip ice cream

Tasty.  Made taco meat, now need to make soup.

Exercise:  Nope.  Idiot.  Turned out to be a pretty nice day too.

Taco Time

Monday, September 11, 2023

Yeah, I'm going to need some serious power of tacos this week.  It wasn't a good weekend.  And this morning wasn't a great start.

Lots to do, not much zip.

Breakfast:  2 slices double cheddar, coffee

Skipped the sausage, just did an ounce and a half of cheese.  Which was fine, it satisfied any hunger I had and tided me over nicely to lunch.

Lunch:  4 eggs scrambled w peppers and onions, hash browns, sour cream

Threw in an extra egg and I'm glad I did.  Also added a little sour cream.  The end result was delightful.

Dinner:  2x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA, Tillamook mint chip ice cream

Tasty.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rainy day.  There was a window before 6:00 am but predicably I was not awake enough to force myself out the door.  Need to adjust that sleep window pronto.
