Well-Guarded Optimism

Wednesday, September 3, 2025

Almost halfway through another week.  And for once I have some (very modest) reasons to be optimistic.  I feel slightly less upper abdomen bloat.  A fraction more energy.  Less knee and leg pain.  And just maybe I'm starting to regain the slightest bit of metabolic efficiency when it comes to food.  Being down the last couple days despite impure eating has me hoping that last one is true.  I don't need to be consequence-free, it would just be super helpful if a handful of extra carbs on one day would not derail things.

So anyway that's a long way of saying that the scale was good this morning - best number since early March I think - and I'm in a good mood.  I even vacuumed last night and the spiffy clean floors had me going to bed with a smile.

Breakfast:  2 slices sharp cheddar, coffee

Back to the Ruminato fancy brand.  I need to check the label but if these are full ounce slices I may try cutting back to 1 slice per day next week - I think the Meijer cheese works out to about 1.5 oz per 2 slices.

Lunch:  3 eggs scrambled, avocado, sour cream, leftover tri tip, 2 Meijer sausage links

The eggs were meh, the meats were good.  I need to grill more steak.

 Dinner:  Brisket

Grocery store brisket.  Super fatty.  I bought some yogurt thinking I might want something more but so far NOPE.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day.  Might try something tomorrow to keep an every-other schedule going.
