What In The Actual

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

Holy cow.  Just came home for lunch and it is BLIZZARDING.  Snowing ferociously.  Coming down so fast it's hard to keep the windshield clear.  A few inches already and it's still snowing.  This was not exactly expected - I had heard an inch or so, not sticking to roads, that sort of thing.  Instead it's a winter wonderland out there and not the good kind.

Anyway, it is otherwise just another day.  Sleep schedule remains out of wack.  But I got enough that I feel decent - much better than yesterday.  Letting some water go, which is nice.  Hoping that as I work on eating down stocks of stuff (and not re-buying, idiot) that I can continue to shrink portions a bit and lose a lot of the junk and carbs and stuff.  It's a process but the numbers I'm seeing are definitely motivating.

Breakfast:  Pancakes w butter and maple syrup, sausage patty, coffee

Repeat.  I have a few more packages of pancakes in the freezer to eat up.

Lunch:  Soup, grilled cheese

Standard stuff.  Haven't gotten to this past weekend's batch of soup yet, still working on the prior.

Dinner:  Mixed nuts, 12 oz All Day IPA, Bellatoria ultimate deluxe frozen pizza, Tillamook mint chip

Another item cleaned up.  Can't say that I'm real surprised that the frozen pizza produced little satiety, despite being a lot of food and a lot of calories.  I wanted to keep eating and eating.  Unlike lunch, where soup and sandwich produced good satiety.  All the more reason to not just eat at home, eat unprocessed stuff.

Exercise:  Nope.  I had designs on going to bed early but did not.  Failure.

Eight Steps

Monday, October 30, 2023

Yeesh.  Ate way, way too much yesterday.  Was not active at all, really.  And I paid the price on the scale.  Was even worse than I predicted and I thought I was being fairly pessimistic.   About time to fix this.  The rest of the body isn't super happy either, tired, cranky back, on/off sinus unhappiness.  Gotta get fixed.

Did have a funny moment.  I checked my phone just before dinner to see how many non-golf steps I took on Saturday.  Of course it starts with the current day, and it told me that I had taken exactly 8 steps.  Eight!  After thinking about it, I concluded it was accurate -- when I got up I grabbed my phone and deposited it in the living room and it spent the whole day sitting there.  I moved around doing laundry and stuff, it wasn't like I spent all day in the recliner.  Anyway, was good for a LOL.

Breakfast:  Pancakes w butter and maple syrup, 1 sausage patty, coffee

One thing I didn't eat yesterday was the pancakes I had thawed.  So I had breakfast.

Lunch:  Soup, grilled cheese, a handful of tortilla chips

Cleaned up the tortilla chips, one more junk food item gone.  Just don't buy it, idiot.  Otherwise, delightful.

Dinner:  2x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA, a few chips/onion dip, Tillamook mint chip

Cleaned up the chips and dip, so that's another thing down.

Exercise:  Nope.  Sleep schedule remains fairly off.

Blimp Up

Sunday, October 29, 2023

You can't outexercise awful eating.  At least not with the level of exercise and the level of eating that I've featured this month.  Since it's a struggle getting more exercise at my current energy level, it would be a good idea to stop eating so much and so badly.  You know?

Anyway, recovering okay.  Golf went fine.  Got a little tired on the second nine, but that's not much of a surprise.  No pain, though, and that's great news.

Tons of stuff to do today and off to a slow start.  Hopefully coffee and a little food will get things kick started.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w meijer veggie cream cheese, coffee

Not specifically on the menu plan, but sounded good and quite easy if not fast.  I have too much food queued up here.

Lunch:  Home pizza w pep ground beef, chips and guac, later chips and onion dip

Had some extra ground beef cooked up for the batch of soup in process so I threw a little on the pizza.  Wow.  Really took it to another level.  Might have to do that more often!

Dinner:  Beef roast and gravy, real mashed potatoes, carrots, garlic toast, 12 oz Miller Lite, vanilla ice cream

Sunday dinners.

Also: 2x Big Mac, Sprite

Exercise:  Nope.  Fail.  Not a huge surprise, since I didn't get home from golf until 7:00 last evening.  Still need a lot of recovery time (in large part due to extreme fatness)

Potential Red Letter

Saturday, October 28, 2023

TGIS.  Really needed it.  It's going to be a struggle to keep my mind off work, since I have already had several thoughts this morning about large projects I have looming with tight deadlines.  Next week is going to capital S suck.  But that's a problem for another day.

Today has potential, as I am going to give the golf a shot after three plus months off.  I have no idea how it is going to go, but only one way to find out.  It's not supposed to be the most beautiful day, but good enough and there is nothing in the long term forecast to suggest that any nicer ones are coming.  The season is about over anyway.

As a bonus I don't have to be mad at myself for not thinking for a second about a walk this morning.  I didn't get up on time anyway.  Needed a little extra sleep.  I'll get plenty on the course, hope I remember to grab my pedometer since I don't keep my phone in my pocket.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w Meijer veggie cream cheese, coffee

A tasty half batch.  Not consumed super early, but then again I didn't get up early either.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Standard.  Consumed a little early.  Off to golf.

Dinner:  Ham, salami and cheese sub, garlic cheese bread w pizza sauce, 16 oz Mich Ultra, jala cheddar popcorn, a little Tillamook mint chip ice cream

Tasty.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  Not that much extra walking, still got in lots of steps.

Dealing With The Stuff

Friday, October 27, 2023

TGIF, glad it's here and it's half over.

Another morning of being tired.  Thought I slept okay, woke up around 5:30 but was not at all ready to get up and get going.  Frustrating.  I never expect to be perky but it would be nice if I had enough pep to kick myself out of the recliner not TOO long after I sit down.

I went through my upcoming meal plans and decided to make them more realistic - adding today's grilled cheese, for example.  I think I'm going to try and just work on (a) zeroing out eating out or at least close, and (b) gradually eating less, especially at dinner.  Home cooked, less food, down the road less starch.  Seems like a plan.

Anyway, lots going on but nothing much interesting.

Breakfast:  Donuts, coffee

Birthday treat for someone at the office today.  I have to say, one of the freshest, tastiest donuts I have had in a while.

Lunch:  Soup, grilled cheese

Old standbys.  Extra good today and the grilled cheese was good for satiety.

Dinner:  2x Wendys double, 12 oz Miller Lite, plain donut holes

Spent way, way too long at the grocery store.

Exercise:  Nope.  Annoying.

No Early Appts

Thursday, October 26, 2023

It's been a struggle the last couple days.  The week got off to a promising start but since then, yeesh.  Combination of being tired, irritating sinues and just being off.  The sinuses have been so annoying I had to break out the Afrin.

Sleepwise I went to bed at a good hour, woke up about 2:15, went back to sleep an hour later and was still very tired when I woke up at 7:00.  Very slow getting out the door.  Glad I didn't have any early appointments.

Lunch:  Catered pork BBQ, sausage, mac and cheese, bite of cornbread.  Later 2x TB chix enchilada burritos

Food was meh, including the Bell.  Just okay.

Dinner:  Hot chipotle peanuts, 12 oz All Day IPA, home tacos

All standard stuff.

Also:  Garlic parmesan lazy bagels w butter

Just added some extra garlic powder and some parmesan then topped with a little butter since I'm out of cream cheese.  Not bad.

Exercise:  Nope.  I had some work related walking of a few blocks x4 but it didn't really add up to that many steps.  Seems like I have to hit at least 5k for it to count.

Brought On Hours

Wednesday, October 25, 2023

It was such a good plan.  I was going to go to bed early.  Get back on schedule.  Really.  And I tried.  Really.  I got ready for bed about 8:00.  Got into bed.  But then I did not sleep.  At 10:30 I gave up and moved to the chair and just waited.  Until well after midnight.  When it finally came.

Needless to say that completely blew things up.  Tired this morning, slept as late as I dared but it was not enough.  Late to work, sluggish at work, just all around not good.

Not happy about it.

Much more saguine about the consequences on the scale, those were well-earned and thoroughly deserved.  Back to the drawing board there.

Lunch:  Soup, croissant w butter

Speaking of things I'm not happy about, noted the first tiny bits of mold on my croissant before I put it in the oven.  Picked off and eyeballed carefully but yeesh.

Dinner:  Dominos pep ham, parm bread bites, 12 oz Miller Lite

Stop it you idiot.

Exercise:  Nope.  Major fail.

Smorgasbord of Failure

Tuesday, October 24, 2023

More of the same.  Got to sleep too late.  Tired this morning.  Did not get enough sleep.  Cracked late morning and ate way too much crap.  Rinse and repeat.

Frustrating.  Need to suck it up and break out of this cycle.

Lunch:  Smorgasbord - CFA spicy and frosted lemonade, McD 2x McDouble and Sprite, later deluxe and meat lovers pizza slices

Yeesh.

Dinner:  Subway meatball, chips, 12 oz Miller Lite

Way too much.

Exercise:  Nope.  As mentioned, slept as late as I could.

Ballooned

Monday, October 23, 2023

Predictable consequences for yesterday's poor food choices and no exercise.  So it goes.

Wasn't particularly ready for it to be Monday.

Lunch:  Soup, croissant w butter

This batch of soup is merely okay.  Croissants were an impulse buy, to push me to eat soup.

Dinner:  3x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite, hot chipotle peanuts

I was doing pretty well with satiety from lunch until just before dinner time, then I got very hungry.  Went with an extra taco then added some peanuts.

Exercise:  Nope.  Up way too late last night, need to get back on schedule.

Hours On Hours

Sunday, October 22, 2023

Very much a weird weekend.  Despite getting up super early yesterday, I did not crash last night.  Other than a moment late afternon there really wasn't any chance of my dozing off.  If anything I was more awake as I watched a football game ensconced in my recliner.

Needless to say that a 20+ hour day has me messed up today.  I did wake up shortly after 5:30 and felt normal enough to get up a little after 6.  I haven't accomplished anything or been highly motivated, but I don't feel awful.  The fatigue is only generalized and not that strong just now.

Weight predictably up.  Eating remains unfixed.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with cream cheese, coffee

Tasty, as usual.  Bad for me, as usual.

Lunch:  Chicken enchiladas, jalapeno cheddar popcorn, Nice! iced oatmeal mini cookies

Bought some smoked chicken at the BBQ place, decided to do this with it.  It was okay.

Later, Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich.  A very chickeny day.

Dinner:  American goulash, salad, garlic bread, vanilla cake w pb cup ice cream

Birthday dinner.

Also:  Big Mac, Sprite

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day after a good amount of hiking yesterday.

Forever Not Understandable

Saturday, October 21, 2023

TGIS.  As usual.

I will never, no matter how hard I try, understand the human body.  I did not get to sleep as early as I had hoped last night (shouldn't have eaten those chocolate chips dumbass), it was after 10:00 when I did.  Woke up shortly after 3:00 and was ... not that tired?  Functional?  Huh?  Sure I didn't do anything until I kicked myself out the door shortly before 5:30, but I did not go back to sleep.  After two days where I was really really tired in the morning.  I don't get it.

Anyway, I was glad I ignored the weather app (rain starting in 30 minutes my ass) and got out there.  It was a good morning for a walk, though there was definitely more traffic than usual on a weekend at 0 dark 30.   Not a fan of that part.  Hopefully it's quieter tomorrow.  Otherwise I may have to push myself out earlier, I like the peace.  New shoes were fine, no foot pain, just a bit of toe chafing down the stretch, not a big deal.  They definitely feel different, like the heel is more built up.

As an added bonus the scale was down this morning.  Brisket good?  No ice cream?  I dunno what the difference was, but okay.  Planning to try some more new stuff this week, looking for some consistency and we'll see if that produces results.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w Tillamook very veggie cream cheese, coffee

Not super early, but definitely earlier than my preferred window.  I'm OK with it.  And I definitely understand the impact these will have.  Too much starch.  On the plus side, it helped me once again avoid buying donuts at the grocery store.

Lunch:  Brisket, cheesy potatoes, cornbread

Other BBQ place.  Not their finest effort on the brisket, but it was still fine.  Potatoes were excellent.  It wasn't really worth the drive, but whatever.

Dinner:  Home pepperoni pizza, 12 oz Miller Lite

Excellent.  I had a tiny bit of doubt, since I forgot to put the dough in the fridge when scheduled and it sat out an extra 8 hours or so but it was terrific.  A batch of dough, jar of sauce, block of mozz and pack of pepperoni is good for three weeks worth of these.  Yum.

Exercise:  Walk, just over 3 miles (pedometer said 3.2 today), about 7k steps, 1 hour 10 minutes.  Usual very slow pace, never had any pep, was pretty tight throughout, fairly tired down the stretch.  But I powered through and got it done.  Add in a couple trips to the grocery store etc and I'm well over 10k steps by mid-afternoon ... and tired.

Travelling Brisket

Friday, October 20, 2023

Whew.  Glad it is Friday.  Tired this morning.  Despite sleeping decently, at least it felt like it.  Going to try and crash early tonight.

Managed to be busy enough that I did not have breakfast even though I was out and about.  Lunch was a little early and a little much.  But very tasty.  I wish we had a good BBQ place in my home town, or at least one that was convenient.  The two I frequent are 40-50 minutes away, so I don't get there often.

The shoes I ordered a while back finally arrived, hoping to put them to use this weekend.

Lunch:  Brisket plate (brisket, hot bbq sauce, bread, smoked mushrooms, bread and butter pickles), brown butter rice krispie treats

Very tasty, I love brisket.  The mushrooms alternate between exquisite and yeah okay, these were the latter.  But still enjoyable.  As were the rice krispie treats.

Snack:  Wendy's Frosty.

Stopped to use the restroom.

Dinner:  Hot chipotle peanuts, 12 oz All Day IPA, home tacos

At least I'm out of ice cream.

Add:  Cleaned up a bag of mini semi sweet choc chips.  Stupid sugar craving.

Exercise:  Nope.  Fail.  Please don't be raining hard in the morning.

Streak Nonstarter

Thursday, October 19, 2023

Very tired today.  It was a struggle getting going this morning and I don't have much pep which has not helped the productivity at work.  Disappointing to have an unproductive morning after three pretty good days in a row.

Needless to say, today is going to be marked as a failure.

Breakfast:  2x Egg Mc Muffin, coffee

Found I was hungry by 9:30, ate to see if it would help the tiredness.  Not much.  But at least I was no longer hungry.

Lunch:  Home breakfast tacos (eggs, peppers and onions, mexicheese, jalapenos, corn tortillas).  Mixed nuts

Forgot to add hot sauce, could have used it.  Also cleaned up the mixed nuts.

Dinner:  Leftover baconator burger patties, TCD style mashed potatoes, Siete Maiz tortilla chips and salsa, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers natural vanilla ice cream

Tried the Maiz chips.  Excellent, but fairly pricey.  Not as much as Masa, but still, at $6 a bag not a regular feature to be.

Exercise:  Nope.

Successful days in a row:  0.  Fail.

Days Of Sustained Success Zero

Wednesday, October 18, 2023

Well, at least today is off to a better start after yesterday's complete fail.  Got up, out the door at 6:00.  Walked and had a solid morning at work.  Going okay.  I did not even pay too steep a price for yesterday's utter debacle.

Musing today on what it would take to have a successful day at this point.  Really, what I'm looking for is simple.  First, get in that exercise.  Preferably walking.  At least 20 minutes.  Second, no binges.  Nothing wrong with a hearty lunch and a healthy dinner, even a snack if needed, but stop the binging.  Third, and this is more for the future than immediately, have at least one of the two meals be super low carb.  Over the longer term that should be both, but let's start with one.  I still have stuff to eat up - tortillas, potatoes, hash browns, bread - that I probably will.  But if I start with one meal, say, next week, that would be good.  And if I can get a string of successful days going it wouldn't be the end of the world to have a birthday party as long as my other meal was clean.

Lunch:  Home breakfast tacos (egg, chorizo, cheese, peppers and onions, sour cream, hot sauce, corn tortillas), a few avo oil chips

Cleaned up a package of tortillas, one of peppers and onions and the bag of chips.  Very tasty.  I'll need to get more chorizo from the farm.  Take away the tortillas and this would be quite acceptable.

Dinner:  Home oven burgers, mashed potatoes TCD style, 12 oz All Day IPA, mixed nuts, Breyers natural vanilla ice cream

CF baconator burgers again, good stuff even if it is more expensive at $11/lb.

Exercise:  Walk, 1.75 miles, 42 minutes.  Standard loop, standard very slow pace.  No pep, some stiffness and aches/pains to start, though I didn't feel too bad by the end.

Consecutive successful day count:  A fairly shaky 1  (super low carb meal requirement not kicked in yet)

I will probably need to add another criterion -- did I stay within my eating window.  I did not tonight, it's after 8:00 and I just finished.  I didn't start fixing dinner until after 6:30, there was no way I was going to have it ready to eat before 7:00.  I'll have to think about this, is it too strict.

Fried Day Fail

Tuesday, October 17, 2023

Sometimes the fail happens early, you acknowledge it and you move on.  Today is just going to be a fail day and hopefully I can get back on track tomorrow.

Breakfast:  2x Egg McMuffin, spicy CFA biscuit, hash brown rounds

Early medical appointment, was hungry later.  I'm definitely more likely to eat if I'm out and about.

Lunch:  Italian beef sandwich, fries, half a chocolate chunk cookie

Audible.

Dinner:  Dominos hand tossed pep ham, bacon jala cheesy bread, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers natural vanilla ice cream

Free dinner.

Exercise:  Nope.  Was up early enough, did not kick myself out the door.

Organized Fail

Monday, October 16, 2023

Well, here we go with Monday again.  Off to an okay start, I think it helped that I went back to work after dinner last night and got some things organized.  The house is also better organized after a decent weekend for that.

As expected my schedule was way off, it was after midnight by the time I was asleep.  Woke up a couple times starting around 4:30 but was never in any danger of actually getting up.  We will see if maybe I can go to bed early tonight.

Lunch:  Home breakfast tacos with CF chorizo, 3 strips leftover bacon, some avo oil chips

Had coffee for breakfast as per usual.  Bought a half pound package of chorizo when I went to the farm and cooked it up yesterday so it was ready to deploy.  Really good, made the breakfast tacos next level delicious.  Will do again tomorrow.  Without bacon though since that's gone.

Snack:  1/2 of a chocolate peanut butter cookie.  Apparently it was some work holiday.

Dinner:  2x mexican, 2x american tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite, Breyers natural vanilla ice cream

Solid.  Not spectacular, but solid.

Exercise:  Nope.

Solvage

Sunday, October 15, 2023

You say you're having problems waiting until the eating window opens on your intermittent fast?  Well boy howdy is it your lucky day because I have a 100% guaranteed lock foolproof humdinger of a solution for you.  Want to know what it is?  Employ this one weird trick:  SLEEP IN.

Yeesh.  Woke up after 6:00, was not at all ready to get up, went back to sleep.  Finally dragged myself out of the recliner, to which I moved at some point, at 10:00 am.  TEN O'CLOCK.  Good lord.  By the time I had my cup of coffee and did the usual morning business, it was nearly 11:00.  WINDOW OPEN.

Is problem, for a couple reasons, one it is going to severely constrict the time I have to spend at work today.  I thought I had maximized that by doing all my laundry and stuff yesterday, but nope.  Body had other ideas.  For a second, it's going to mess up my schedule.  I don't get to sleep in tomorrow.  Oh well, such is life.  We'll see how much I can tire myself out.

Anyway, musing on diet stuff today, I really haven't been trying.  I mean, I look through my posts and they're loaded with wheat, corn and potatoes.  I'm probably not going zero carb or even super low, but come on, man.  Let's give a little effort here.

Brunch:  Breakfast tacos, leftover bacon, coffee

I have a lot of tortillas to use up.

Snack:  Chips and onion dip.  Cleaned up.  Later, pancakes w/ butter and maple syrup

Used up the buttermilk.

Dinner:  American goulash, salad, garlic toast, 12 oz Miller Lite, vanilla ice cream w choc sauce

Forgot to take a photo.

Also:  Big Mac, sprite, Avo oil chips.  Way too much eating today.

Exercise:  Nope.  Did I mention that I did not get up until after 10:00?

Sameness But With More Saturday

Saturday, October 14, 2023

You know it.  TGIS.  Truly the finest day of the week.  It's been different with no golf and we're headed into the offseason, so the routine is different.  I'm definitely more relaxed on Saturday mornings.  Working on not thinking about work outside of work whenever possible, and I think that's helping.

Anyway, it's another not very nice day out there.  I really need to stop counting on the weather apps and just go outside.  Rain on the radar, supposed to be very windy.  I went out to go to the store a little later and it's barely sprinkling and only a little breezy.  I was perfectly comfortable in a sweatshirt and rain jacket.  Sure, the jacket wouldn't hold up to real rain, but I would have been fine.  Need to stop being lazy.  It would help if I had some pep.  Any pep.

Small win this morning.  I violated a basic rule and went to the grocery store while hungry.  Didn't buy too much unplanned stuff, but the notable thing is I survived the bakery aisle.  Usually, when I go Friday nights there are ~ no donuts.  This morning, since I went early, there was a full case.  Managed to not get any, but I sure thought about it.  Instead I'll eat breakfast at 11:00.  (Edit:  Only held out until 10:15.  Doh.)

Breakfast:  Buttermilk pancakes w butter and maple syrup, Meijer low sodium bacon, coffee

I pulled pancakes out yesterday to have tomorrow forgetting that I have to make a batch to use up the rest of my buttermilk.  Turned out to be a good thing since I now have "breakfast" and they were something I could use to talk myself out of buying donuts.  Also, this is the last of the grocery store bacon.  I found 3 packages of bacon at the farm last week (bought 2) so I'll have some clean stuff next.

Lunch:  Home tacos, chips and onion dip later

Thawed this for last night's dinner and then didn't eat it, so it becomes today's lunch.  Dip was a new kind, Daisy.  Nice clean ingredients.  Flavor a bit subdued, but that's to be expected with no MSG.

Dinner:  Home pizza, 12 oz Miller Lite, mixed nuts, a little Breyers natural vanilla ice cream

So easy.  Also fast, other than the wait for the oven to get good and hot.  Which makes it not fast.  Turned out delicious once again.

Exercise:  Nope.  Walked around the grocery store and was active around the house, but no dedicated chunk.  Too bad, I was up at 4:30 and didn't feel too bad.  Just slow.

Deadly IPAs Maybe

Friday, October 13, 2023

Friday the 13th.  GREAT.  Now what?

Actually, the morning was okay.  Got a fair amount of work accomplished, even if I didn't go out and walk in the cold rain.  I probably had enough time to do it but once again failed at pushing myself out the door.  I have been sniffling this morning quite a bit, I do wonder if it might be the IPAs from last night or something allergic like that.

Pleased that the scale wasn't mad at me after yesterday's eating.  Not great bob, though it was certainly tasty.  I thoroughly enjoyed the burger, frites and beers.  Pizza wasn't bad either.

Anyway, today and tomorrow are supposed to be miserable so I should buckle down and work work work.  Who knows if I can make myself do it.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.  I could probably just skip the breakfast entry unless I fail and eat outside my window.

Lunch:  3 eggs scrambled w peppers and onions, hash browns, shredded mexicheese, sour cream

Maybe I should just call it stuffed hash browns.  Tasty.  As per usual I was not ready to be done eating when I was done eating, but in this case the lack of anything snackable is allowing satiety to kick in and slowly wear away the urge to eat.  That stuff is so broken.

Dinner:  Subway meatball, 12 oz Miller Lite, mixed nuts, Tillamook mint chip

Too much eating.

Exercise:  Nope.

Lazy Lazy Bum

Thursday, October 12, 2023

Being this much of a slug kinda sucks.  I was awake at 5:30.  I got up.  I had a cup of coffee.  And I just could.  Not.  Push.  Myself.  Out.  The.  Door.

There is no excuse.  The aches and pains were in check.  I was awake enough.  Not peppy, but enough.  I had time, though I did need to get to work early (which I did).  It was not raining, 42 and no wind is fine.  Can't chalk it up to anything but idontwanna.  Lazy.  Lazy.  LAZY.

And no discipline with the lunch either.  Sheesh.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Deluxe/pepperoni slices

Were fine.  I do wish they'd learned the cardinal rule of not stacking hot slices because the toppings stick, but I would have had to ask for a bigger box and I did not.

Dinner:  Pub burger, frites w curry ketchup, 2x 12 oz (?) belgian IPA, Tillamook mint chip

Dinner meeting.  Was really good.  Beer was pretty strong, two was plenty.

Exercise:  Nope.  LAZY.

Ached and Pained

Wednesday, October 11, 2023

Still not great.  I was thinking recently, maybe last week, about how decent I was feeling physically.  Other than some grumbling by feet and knees during hikes I really hadn't had any issues.  Fast forward and I'm feeling rather beat up.  I did something to a shoulder that has that all bound up, also affects the neck a little.  Feet have been barking lately, hoping it's not a flareup of plantar fascitis.  They're relatively good so far today, so let's hope.  Generally feel run down too.

I was rather amused to be fractionally down on the scale this morning after just an abysmal day yesterday.  It had everything to do with system cleanout but whatever.  Let's get this moving in the right direction.

On the stress front I did get a major project step completed at work yesterday, so that's good.  Still have truly insane amounts of work to be done, but if I can get that one fully wrapped up life will be good.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Leftover enchilada eggs, hash browns

What I planned on eating yesterday, plus I bulked it up with some hash browns as I was relatively hungry.  And, for once, I don't have any junk food or anything snackable of note handy.  I briefly considered stopping at the health food store but for once I overcame an impulse.  Yay.  Still, this was a LOT of food.

Dinner:  Mixed nuts, 12 oz All Day IPA, home tacos, Tillamook mint chip

I get more satisfaction relative to inputs out of home tacos than anything else, I think.  Only 4 oz of beef.  A little cheese, some Pace picante sauce, sour cream.  I forgot hot sauce.  Jalapenos.  Excellent.  The nuts were a new variety - Meijer mixed (with peanuts), sold in a bag instead of a can, in produce.  They were fresher and the ingredient list seemed a little cleaner.  Maybe.  I think it was just nuts with a last ingredient of peanut oil.

If I had walked, this would have been an OK day, if a little heavy on the food.

Exercise:  Nope.  Woke up just after 5:30, got up, looked at the radar and saw a blob of green and noped.  Which is pathetic, it wasn't a hard rain, could have toughed it out with no trouble.  Just lazy and pathetic.
