Didn't feel great this morning but I'm fine.  Feel probably 90% this evening.  About as good as I have been.  No idea what it's going to take to get to 100% but hopefully soon.  Anyway, about time to stop with the excuses and the binging.

Breakfast:  Coffee

At least that's standard.

Lunch:  TB 3x chx flatbread, 2x beef burrito

Like those flatbreads.

Snack:  2x McD cheeseburger, strawberry shake

Worst burgers ever.  Just vile.

Dinner:  Chef salad w ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, cheetos, strawberry lemonade, ice cream cookie sandwiches

Eating All The Things And More

Almost there.  I actually felt pretty decent yesterday afternoon for a while, even accomplished a few things.  Been taking it very easy today in hopes of the final knockout.  It will be very nice to get back to feeling normal, even with the deficiencies to normal inherent in being really fat.

Yes, I will be up about ten pounds this week but I'm taking it in stride.  Feel better, back on plan, weight falls right back off.  Back to it tomorrow.

Breakfast:  Leftover deluxe pizza, coffee

Also cracked open a bottle of the latest reformulation of Coke Zero Sugar.  I can tell that it tastes different (despite the fact that the bottle of the prior formula I bought last week was the first Coke Zero I've ever had) but can't decide yet if it's better.  Seems less crisp but also a bit less aftertasty.  Dunno.  Have most of the 2L left obv.

Lunch:  TB sack, Great Lakes chips

Dinner:  Fried chicken sandwich, fries w a little ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, Americone dream ice cream

Exercise:  18 holes w cart, about 10k steps and four bottles of water

Whatever I have may be easing up just a bit this evening.   That said, I'm still spending my third straight evening parked in the recliner watching bike racing on TV and eating pizza.  Not healthy.  I do think it helped that I got almost 9 hours of time in bed last night.

Pleased that the scale hasn't punished me for the first two nights of this.  I'm sure that streak will end tomorrow as today was worse.  That's OK.  Healthy soon and back at it.

Made it in somewhat earlier than yesterday but I was still late.

Lunch:  Jimmy Johns east coast italian (add mustard and pickle minus oil and vinegar), pickle

Frosted lemonade tasted great.  I thought about getting a full CFA meal but decided to continue to stay clear of the fried stuff and just had the treat while waiting for my very mediocre pizza to be ready.

Not much pep today.  Got essentially no sleep until 3:00 am when I finally used some nasal spray.  Slept in and went to work quite late.  Just not firing on all cylinders, that's for certain.

Woke up this morning with a scratchy throat, lots of gunk on the vocal cords.  Even coffee didn't do much to clear it, though I think lunch is finally doing the trick pretty much.  Ugh.  Darned post nasal allergy drip.  Edit:  Nah, continued to kinda feel blah.

Anyway, I failed by not loading electrolytes last night, though I would be fine since I didn't sweat much.  Oops.  At least I only woke up once but it was a rather vicious cramp.

Lunch:  LC home tacos, Meijer spicy veg juice

Dinner:  1.5x BLT, Boulder Canyon avo oil cheddar sour cream chips, a peach

I wasn't terribly optimistic for good news this morning.  Felt puffy.  Sluggish, didn't sleep great though it was OK.  Pretty steady light snoring.  Just nothing much portending success.  And yet I eventually hopped on the scale it was all good.  Man I hope that thing isn't broken.

Really, it's a reminder of how important regular exercise is.  I'd love to make a push here before my vacation at the end of September, try and and get in daily walking.  The eating has been relatively under control but the exercise other than golf has been, well, non-existent.

We'll see.

Too lazy to pull up yesterday's post so far but I need to change it, didn't end up having the logged hard seltzer, instead I found half a dozen strawberries (two chocolate dipped) and a slice of chocolate dipped pineapple in the fridge and ate those instead.  A fine nightcap.

Breakfast:  Coffee, 2 strips Meijer bacon


Premade the bacon for dinner, had two strips left over so I ate them.  Pity.

Lunch:  3 eggs scrambled with a splash of milk, ham and american cheese, 2 sausage patties, 2 slices cinnamon raisin toast w generous butter, Mei jer spicy veg juice


Very tasty.

Dinner:  BBQ sandwich, some fries w a little ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, 12 oz Odd Side moscow mule hard seltzer



Meh.   It was fine, just not good for me.  Planned dinner was postponed to tomorrow.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, said I managed 11k steps.  Plus a trip around the grocery store, it was an active day.  Pleased to note that I had some pep this afternoon especially on the second nine - it helped that the humidity was down and the temperature quite reasonable.

Weekend is off to a pretty fine start.  Got a decent night of sleep, apparently the Powerade Zero I had before going to bed was sufficient to replace some electrolytes.  Not much snoring.  Felt okay when I got up.  Late golf today meant that I had a few minutes to hit the farmer's market to buy some tomatoes and peaches.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, 3 strips bacon, raisin toast with homemade strawberry jelly, coffee

Standard pre-golf breakfast out, even if it was at ~ 9:30.

Lunch:  None.  I did have two Gatorade Zeros during golf.

Dinner:  Smoked meatloaf, mac and cheese, dinner roll with added butter.  Will have a Moscow Mule flavor Odd Side hard seltzer later 

They were out of mashed potatoes.  But everything else was fine, if not the greatest mac and cheese I've had.  Inhaled, it was 6:15 by the time I got home.  I may need to eat something during golf on hot days.

Very summery this weekend and planning to golf three days in a row so I'll be sweating.  To which I say good, maybe that'll help get things moving in the right direction again.  Up again today though this one sure wasn't a surprise.  At least I haven't been notably hungry other than when I finally ate yesterday.

Very standard, just used Valentina Extra Hot instead of homemade hot sauce.

Just the right size dinner.  And capping it off with a Powerade Zero in the futile hope that I might replace some of the five pounds of electrolytes I just lost.  Resisted the chips, resisted the cookie.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, just under 10k steps.  So humid out there, it was brutal.

Recomposing

Up again.  That's several days in a row and two and a half pounds this week.  Irritating.  And yet I don't know where those pounds are, since I don't feel notably bloated or anything.  If anything I seem to be reshaping my body a bit, losing some of the midsection bloat, being a bit more defined.  Only a little, but a little more normal is good.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.  Not hungry.

Lunch:  Deluxe sub ("Ham, pepperoni, American and mozzarella cheese, onion, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Made on monstrous 10" toasted buns")


By 2:00 I was hungry and nowhere close to home so I got what was convenient, the only close, quick option was a sub shop.  This was a really, really, really good sandwich.  Not a very inspiring photo, but it was eaten in the car and that kinda limits things.

Dinner:  2 eggs, scrambled with a splash of whole milk, diced ham and 2 slices of deluxe american cheese, 2 slices PF raisin toast with generous butter, Meijer spicy veg juice, 24 oz Miller Lite


And as a result of the late lunch not super hungry come dinner time.  Ate too much and am quite stuffed.  Very tasty.  Definitely way too many carbs and too much wheat today.

Exercise:  Nope.  Lazy.  Sleep schedule is way off and I didn't have too much pep at any time.

More of the same old same old.  Watching the scale will make you crazy, especially when you're up after a day where you hardly ate anything at all.  Not many carbs.  Oh well.  Probably too much salt considering I didn't sweat much.

I did decide that it would be fun to try a belt so I ordered one this morning.  If I don't like it well it was a cheap thrill.  I'm a little dubious that it will work (due to lack of waist) but we'll see.  Things haven't been looking terrible when I mess around at home with tucking in while wearing the usual suspenders.  It's just not suitable for being out in public.

Hit the farm today to restock the ground beef supply and I got a nice comment from the woman working, she only sees me every few months but it was enough that she noticed I've dropped some pounds.

Excellent tonight.  Quite stuffed.  The eggs are the smaller supermarket large, have a dozen of those to work through before I get to the new batch of farm eggs.  That PF raisin toast is excellent.

Well, I survived Monday, that's good.  It required going back to work after dinner and I didn't wind down until after midnight, but I survived.  More work today, if I didn't have golf league I'd be going back again.

Scale blipped up, no notable reason but certainly not enough to worry about.  Could just be that I wasn't very active yesterday.  It has also occurred to me that I may possibly need to eat more.  At least more of the right stuff.  We'll see.

Bodies Are The Weirdest

I swear I will never understand the human body.  Yesterday wasn't an epic day on the diet front.  I ate way too many carbs.  I was not cheated on portions.  I had a couple drinks (note to self, add an Odd Side moscow mule hard seltzer).  I got in decent exercise, hitting 15k steps after a tour of the grocery store, but it wasn't strenuous.  Just walking.  Not much sweating since it wasn't notably hot or humid.

And yet the scale dropped again.  I didn't lose notable amounts of liquid, via solid waste or by persperation.  But it happened anyway.  Unless my scale is broken.  

But I don't think it's the scale.  My clothes are getting looser.  The pants two sizes down from the max that I pulled on this morning are loose, too loose to wear without a belt or suspenders.

The visual doesn't quite match the scale, at least in my mind.  I expect my abdomen to be less swollen.  That's still very oversized.  Again, less than it was, but it's still yuge.  Which makes sense, I'm very very very fat.  But the perspective just seems off.  Hopefully with time those things will converge and someday I can be a normal sized human.

Oh well, I am very thrilled to see the drop and feel leaner. 

Breakfast:  Coffee

Slept in just a little, lazed about a bit.  Earlier than usual golf today so will be having brunch followed by dinner.  Two meals a day really is getting to feel quite right and it makes for relatively effortless fasting periods.

Lunch:  3 CF eggs scrambled w butter, jalapenos and a little Cabot extra sharp cheddar, 2 sausage patties, 2 slices Pepperidge Farm cinnamon raisin swirl bread w generous butter, Meijer spicy vegetable juice


Last of my eggs from the farm, had three left in the dozen so I had the extra.  Had some homemade hot sauce on the eggs.  Supply of that is starting to get low, will have to make another batch in a week or two.

Dinner:  Marinated sirloin, Idahoan 4 cheese potatoes with added butter, green beans, 16 oz Mich Ultra, 2x Halo Top pineapple bars


Not a big fan of the pineapple bars, I'll stick to the lime.  After I eat the rest of the box obv.

Also had a peach mango Body Armor Lyte during golf.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  I have to go check the pedometer but it should be the usual 10-11k steps.

Another postcard perfect day, just shy of 80 degrees, no humidity, light breeze, mostly sunny.  Glorious.  And so good that it's happening over the weekend so I can get some Vitamin D.

A nice drop on the scale after not eating much yesterday.  Probably won't get another one tomorrow, having consumed way too many carbs today.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, 3 strips bacon, raisin toast w homemade strawberry jam, coffee



Standard pre-golf breakfast out, fewer hash browns than usual but still all good.  For some reason they gave me a side of ketchup, which I did not eat.

Lunch:  12 oz Miller Lite after golf

Dinner:  Smoked meatloaf, mashed potatoes with a little mushroom gravy, dinner roll with a lot of butter


Audible.  I was going to go to Qdoba but their menu board said they didn't have brisket so I walked.  Went to a local BBQ place, this is the second time I've been there.  It's pretty decent, though microwaves feature too strongly into the preparation.  I didn't eat the side of BBQ sauce and ate very little of the gravy (it was fine, I just flipped the container upside down onto a plate and the gravy ended up on the bottom and pooling away).  Put the end of a stick of butter on the roll, was at least a tablespoon.  No regrets.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  11.5k steps so far and I'm still going to the grocery store yet tonight.

Didn't Eat Much Today

It really wasn't anything notable but I in fact did not eat much today.  I had lunch at 2:30, had a 15 minute window for that.  And I had dinner about 9:00.  That was it.  It won't make for an exciting post, that's for certain.

Slept OK, snore score was nice and low.  I wasn't quite peppy this morning but didn't feel bad.  Not particularly lethargic.  I hope to some day get to peppy but that might be asking for a bit much.  I'd like to be able to consistently just get up and get moving, that's a reasonable goal.

Breakfast:  Coffee

It was another three cup day.   Still weird how I went so many years without drinking the stuff.

Lunch:   LC home tacos


Rushed.  Just a sliver of the Cabot extra sharp cheddar on each, homemade hot sauce and sour cream.  And plenty of jalapenos.

Dinner:  Smashburger and a couple dill pickle slices, 16 oz Mich Ultra


No chips or fries, just a plain cheeseburger.  Didn't even bother putting mustard on it.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  Was running late and forgot my pedometer, should be around the usual 10k steps.  Weather was perfect so I didn't need to drink a gallon of water for once.

Okay, that is weird.  I let go of a bunch more water after figuring that I was done.  And I had a fairly carby dinner last night with a beer and two pieces of raisin toast.  Sure did not expect that result.  But I'll take it.  I wasn't even very active at all!

Not a great deal of pep this morning - not as good as Tuesday but better than yesterday.  If I could figure it out to have mornings suck less that would be great.

Same as yesterday, except I was out of shredded cheese so I used some Cabot extra sharp cheddar I've had on hand for a while.  And I remembered to check the bread, I did buy the cinnamon raisin.  Dinner comes together a lot faster when I don't make hash browns you know?

Exercise:  Nope.  Tired this morning and going back to the office tonight.

Except me, possibly.  Tired this morning, didn't get to bed early enough and I did not have enough pep to get up when I woke up.  Snoozed chair/couch style until the last possible minute, in this case 7:30.  So that was a little disappointing.  But I was not disappointed by the scale, which acknowledged the continued dumping of surplus water and dropped down below the start of month figure.  Binge erased.  I was also not disappointed by the lack of leg cramps which was a concern after yesterday's golf in the heat and humidity.  I put a bunch of salt and Good Salt on the popcorn and that was apparently sufficient.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.  May have to start slipping in some cocoa butter again.

Lunch:  Home tacos, LC style


Getting used to the LC tortillas, they're actually not bad.  Still a super easy lunch.

Dinner:  2 eggs scrambled with a little cheese and jalapenos, 2 sausage patties, 2 slices Thomas swirl raisin bread with generous butter, Meijer spicy vegetable juice, 12 oz All Day IPA


If I were less lazy I could go see if I bought cinnamon raisin bread or just raisin.  Don't remember.  Shouldn't eat the stuff and I probably won't buy another loaf, will just stick to having it on golf Saturdays out.  But for now it's a good vehicle for butter.

Exercise:  Nope.  As mentioned quite fatigued this morning, though I did feel better after my shower.

Now this is weird.  I didn't have a super productive day at work yesterday, but after I left it kicked in.  I got a LOT more done around the house than usual, it was pretty much steady until 10:45.  Didn't get to sleep until just after midnight.  Woke up at 5:30 and ... didn't feel terrible!  It was actually about as good as I ever feel in the morning.  I even kicked myself out the door for a walk.  Also have disposed of a ton of water.  This is all very strange but I like it.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Lunch "tacos" - 2x steak and cheese w sour cream and homemade hot sauce, 1x ham and cheese

Again using the low carb tortillas.  The steak ones were very tasty, I may have to buy steak more often when it's on sale.  The ham one was fine, just boring in comparison.  Cleaned up the package though.

Dinner:  Chef salad with ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, popcorn w butter


Haven't quite figured out a better dinner, at least the salad was LC.  Only ate one of the containers of dressing.  Decided to add the popcorn (popped in a little coconut oil) and a couple Tbs of butter to bump up the good fat content.

Exercise:  Morning walk, 3500 steps, 30 minutes, about 1.5 miles.  The calculators say that it's more like 1.67 miles but I'll go with the lower number.   Also 9 holes with cart, 5700 steps.  It was HOT out there.  I drank two bottles of water and that was barely adequate.

Here We Go Again

Oh crap it's Monday again.   Even though I went to bed at a reasonable hour I was still quite fatigued this morning.  At least my strategy of eating all the salt and drinking a Powerade Zero was (afaik) successful in warding off any night cramps.  Was quite concerned that it would be a rough night given how much water I had to drink to stay hydrated.

Let's see if I can be better this week and get rid of the pounds I gained during the break.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.  Gave some fleeting thought to food mid-morning but wasn't actually hungry.

Lunch:  Ham and cheese on LC tortillas


This time it's La Bandeteria carb counter tortillas.  They all seem to be about the same, basically just wheat starch and not much else.  I have a couple packages to use up so I may as well.  I don't love them, but I bought 'em.

Dinner:   Marinated sirloin, mashed potatoes TCD style, Meijer spicy veg juice, 12 oz All Day IPA


I didn't weigh the steak or anything but it's definitely no more than 6 oz.  I had ingredients on hand for the marinade since I had been planning to do flank steak over the weekend but that never materialized.  All was completely delicious (and not just due to the metric ton of butter in the potatoes).

Spent way too much time this afternoon on the TCD website and waffling as to whether to be more "pure" low carb or more TCD which is definitely NOT low carb.  I am having a hard time deciding -- it's more of a challenge to eat clean (for either plan) during the summer, too much eating out.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day.  I was wiped after the weekend.  Too much humidity.

Another successful festival week has come and gone.  I don't do many of the events but it definitely has an impact on what I do that week!

Super tired last night and I slept in until 9:30 this morning.  Lazed about and it was 11:00 before I was out of the shower and dressed.  Not expecting great accomplishments today, that's for sure.

I guess you can call something eaten at 11:30 "breakfast".

Lunch:  Home tacos


Quick and easy.  Just cheese, sour cream and fire sauce today.

Dinner:  BBQ sandwich, fries w ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, great lakes chips, oatmeal raisin cookies

A bit much.  But I cleaned up what I bought.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, 3 strips bacon, rye toast, coffee

Usual pre-golf breakfast out, they were out of raisin bread.

Lunch:  12 oz Miller Lite, 2x CFA spicy sandwich, fries, frosted lemonade

Dinner:  Dominos pizza (various), a chicken bite, bread balls, blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream, another 12 oz Miller Lite

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, was over 11k steps.  Didn't walk down for fireworks, too bad, just watched from near home.

A short break from eating well.

Breakfast:  Coffee, apple fritter

Someone brought donuts.

Lunch:  Jimmy Johns Vito, S&V chips, diet lemonade

Not a good effort by Jimmy's minions.

Dinner:  Fried chicken sandwich, chips and cowboy caviar, a few fries w ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, 2x Halo top lime bars


Tasty.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, 11.5k steps

Sigh.  At least we're getting closer to a weekend.

Add two lime Halo Top bars to yesterday and some more weight to the scale this morning.  It hasn't been a good week.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Dinner:  Domino's hand tossed pepperoni mushroom pizza, 12 oz Miller Lite

Crack.  Tomorrow and Saturday will also likely be pretty bad, it's a major local festival time and things are generally crazy.

Also:  Hot fudge sundae, nice oatmeal cookies, nice cheddar popcorn

Exercise:  Nope.

Man, the motivation has been lacking lately.  It's just sad.  I barely managed to avoid getting takeout for dinner -- if Culvers had been running a deal I was looking for then I would have gotten burgers.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard

Lunch:  Sandwiches - ham and roast beef, american cheese, mustard on a fiber wrap.   Also a couple extra slices of american cheese (Kraft Deluxe) to finish off the package.


Edible, but not great.

Dinner:  2 eggs sunny, hash browns, 2 sausage patties, Meijer spicy veg juice, 12 oz All Day IPA


Not bad at all.

Exercise:  Nope.

I'm setting easy goals today.  Going to be 100% biscuit-free.  I think I can do that.

Super late getting to sleep last night (1 AM), didn't feel like I slept well and definitely woke up a few times but still the snoring wasn't too bad and I didn't feel horrible when I got up.  Still, not ideal.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Roast beef and american cheese on Ole tomato basil low carb wraps

The wraps aren't great - I mean, what do you expect from almost pure fiber? - but they work.  They're also out of date so I had better eat them up.  Convenient that I forgot to thaw a taco meat.

Dinner:  Mushroom swiss burger, fries w ketchup, 16 oz Labatt Blue

Usual place was closed tonight.

Also:  BK 2x bacon chbg, value fries, lime Halo Top bar

Exercise:  9 holes with cart, not much walking

Yeah, doubled down on tacos.  Way too much corn.

Was pretty tired this morning, glad I didn't have anything too early.

Decided to eat up my open package of corn tortillas before I try the next variety of LC torts.   I have several more days worth.

Dinner:  4x tacos mexican style, 12 oz Miller Lite, biscuits with american cheese, lime Halo Top bar




Satiety kicked in very very late, had already made biscuits to clean up the box of bisquick.

Exercise:  Nope.  Off day.
