Ate a lot yesterday and "poorly", so no big weekend drops.  C'est la vie.

Lunch:  Homemade rye spelt bread with butter,  ham, extra sharp cheddar, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt, polish dill spear


Pretty standard.  Quite full.

Dinner:  3 corn tortillas w corned beef, swiss and hot mustard, potato salad, 24 oz All Day IPA.  Also, 2 slices spelt rye with butter

It was edible.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day.

Just remembered that next weekend is Labor Day and a three day weekend.  What a fine happy thought that is.

Weird radical shift in my sleep schedule this weekend.  Woke up on short rest at 5:00 yesterday so I went to bed early (for me) -- in bed by 9:15, asleep by 10:15 -- and didn't set an alarm.  Woke up at 4:59.  Feeling decent enough so far and it would be swell if that wakeup time would stick.  I could get back to weekday walking.

Not a huge drop on the scale, no surprise given that yesterday wasn't a good eating day.  Today won't be either, so thank goodness for walking.

Breakfast:  Breakfast tacos, 2 strips Meijer thick cut bacon, coffee

So good.

Lunch:  Domino's ham and ground beef pizza, parm bread bites

I was gifted leftover pizza so I ate that instead of lentils.

Snack:  Homemade rye bread and butter

Testing out the loaf I baked this morning.  Pretty good, though maybe a bit more yeast and a smaller loaf pan next time.

Dinner:  Cheeseburger with mustard and sauteed onion, homemade potato salad, pineapple and strawberries.

I had another half burger, scoop of potato salad and round of fruit too, not pictured.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, not that much walking.  Pedometer credited me for 4.25 miles.

Worth The Price At Least This Time

I knew there was a price to be paid for last night's pizza and I willingly paid it.  Sure enough, the scale wasn't good this morning but again, my choice.  Thankfully it's the weekend and hopefully I can walk it right back off.

Breakfast:  Breakfast tacos, 3 strips Meijer thick cut bacon, coffee

Same as yesterday, so good.

Lunch and Dinner:  Smoked brisket, hot beef sausage, cheesy potatoes, cornbread square

On the way home so I stopped.  Same as last week, I ate about half, then drove home and not long after that ate more.  Very very full.  I did not buy any beef tenderloin this week, since my menu is already pretty full.

Also:  Odd Side fuzzy navel hard seltzer

I was skeptical but this is really good.  Bought a six pack after a good review in the newspaper.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, not that much walking.  With trip to the grocery store the pedometer says 6.5 miles.

Whew.  Limped to the finish line.  So tired.  Broke the streak of drops this week but not unexpected.  System is also a little backed up.

Lunch:  Breakfast tacos (egg, cheese, guac, salsa, sour cream), 4 strips Meijer thick cut bacon


When it comes to bacon I like it thicc.  This was predictably delicious.

Dinner:  Pizza with bacon, mushrooms and onion, 24 oz Miller Lite


Going to pay for this tomorrow morning on the scale but it was time.  Dough's been in the fridge for a while.  Really, really good.  Probably will have a gin and tonic too.

Exercise:  Nope.

Yep, once again pleased by a totally unexpected drop.  I wasn't super active last night though I did get a little exercise, I had lots of carbs and I didn't sleep great.  Not exactly a recipe for success.

Anyway, the week rolls on.  Tired as expected, I went the wrong way with regard to the plan to go to bed and get up earlier.  Sigh.  That's hard.

Lunch:  Ham, swiss cheese, croissaint w butter, polish dill spears, cherry Fage TruBlend yogurt


Standard, though I had very little ham so I added an extra slice of cheese.

Dinner:  Leftover kinda swiss steak and yellow rice, 24 oz All Day IPA.  Cheese popcorn and will probably have a gin and tonic too


Last of that and I'm glad.  It was quite good but I'm tired of it and ready to eat something else.


Exercise:  Nope.

A happy surprise on the scale this morning, not often do I drop after eating out on Tuesday but the power of tacos must have overcome.  Good times.  I had planned to eat leftovers but pushed that back to tonight since I was ready to eat after golf.

Lunch:  Ham, swiss cheese, croissaint with butter, polish dill spears, vanilla Fage TruBlend yogurt


Standard.

Dinner:  Leftover not quite swiss steak and yellow rice tacos, later on cheese popcorn, 12 oz All Day IPA



Worked surprisingly well as taco filling.  Would eat again.  Out of tortillas though, not sure if I'll make more tomorrow night or not.  Definitely have a meal left though.

Exercise:  Not really.  Did go to the driving range and worked up a bit of a sweat, but it doesn't really count.

Totally standard.  I forgot to take a pic, so here's yesterdays.  I had two smallish dill spears.

Dinner:  3 steak tacos, mexican style.  24 oz Miller Lite


Hit a taco truck, bummed they didn't have any al pastor but it was almost closing time.  Tacos were good and also cheap, would eat there again.

Exercise:  9 holes with cart, not much extra walking.  Pedometer said 2.25 miles.

The Monday Usual, As Usual

Just your typical Monday.  I would have very much liked another hour or two of sleep but it's never an option.  Stayed up too late last night, though it wasn't really all that late.  Just too late to get any extra sleep.

Followed the typical routine of the scale bottoming out thanks to excellent weekend exercise.  Happy that I still got a nice dip despite eating a massive dinner last night.  Another next low, though less than a pound below last week's low.  I have a birthday coming up in about six weeks, it would be nice if I could peel off another ten or fifteen pounds by then.

Lunch:  D&W black forest ham, swiss cheese, croissaint with butter, polish dill spear, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt.


Super standard.

Dinner:  Leftover beef tenderloin turned into something else, yellow rice, 24 oz All Day IPA


Tossed the leftover tenderloin in the crock pot with some tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and spices to see if anything good would happen.  Quite good, kinda like a zippy swiss steak.  Oh, and again I'll probably have a gin and tonic later.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day.

The Cycle Again

Puff up, then walk it off.  Thank goodness for summer weekends, keeping things in check.  Now, I just need to fix the weekdays.  I ate luxuriously, not dietarily efficient, yesterday and still had the usual drop.  So walk, dummy.

Noticed this morning that my bad leg was much less swollen than usual - it almost matched the other one in size.  Color will never be the same, presumably due to chronic veinous insufficiency and the multiple insults the leg has experienced in recent years, but it was kinda nice regardless.

Breakfast:  Breakfast tacos w/ 1 eggs, mexicheese, sour cream and salsa.  Coffee

They may not look like much but they sure are good.

Lunch:  Red lentils, glass of whole milk

Seems to be excellent golf fuel.

Dinner:  Smoked beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream, 24 oz Miller Lite

Couldn't come close to finishing this, way too much meat.  I'll probably have a gin and tonic later.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, decent extra walking.  Pedometer said 6.75 miles.

Glad it's the weekend, though it was super hard to get my mind off work last night and when I woke up this morning.  I'm going to need to put in some extra hours to get to a better place.

Breakfast:  Breakfast tacos with 1 egg, mexicheese, guac and salsa.  Coffee

Satisfying and it did work well to have less filling.  Wasn't hungry all day.

Lunch:  Smoked beef brisket, cheesy potatoes, cornbread square

Went to the BBQ place since I was in that area.  Ate half and brought the other half home and ate it an hour or so later.  Quite sated.

Dinner:  24 oz Miller Lite, gin and tonic

I mean I finished "lunch" at 5:00, so dinner was unnecessary.  Got groceries and currently relaxing with some beverages.  Photo seems unnecessary.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, little extra walking.  Rode solo today so not much chance.  With the trip to the store the pedometer said 6.75 miles.

The end of a crazy week.  Pretty much full accelerator until 5:10 then slam on the brakes.  And out.  One beer down, at least one more to go.   Might be more, depending on how they go down.  What a day, what a week.

Scale was up as expected due to wretched eating yesterday and no exercise.  Looking forward to some weekend walking.

Lunch:  Ham, swiss cheese, croissaints with butter, polish dill spear, cherry TruBlend yogurt

The standard, this time with an extra croissaint.

Dinner:  Tacos with mexicheese, sour cream, guac and salsa, 24 oz All Day IPA, prob going to have a gin and tonic too since I haven't had one in a while and alcohol sounds good

The grind continues.  Up too late last night so this morning was a struggle.  One of these days I'll be able to crash early and start the shift to a better schedule.  Maybe.

No big change on the scale this morning, which is good.  I'll grudgingly accept a tiny bump, since I did once again eat way too many carbs yesterday and didn't get that much exercise.  Just trying to hang around until the weekend.  Also -- at some point today I decided that I could actually retire the largest size work pants I have.  I'm wearing a pair and there is so much slack.  Time to see if I have enough pairs the next size down to make the switch full time.  I did wear a pair this weekend and they were fine.

Lunch:  Ham, swiss cheese, polish dill spears, croissaints with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt

Standard.   I noticed that my 8 count of half-sized croissaints actually had nine.  What will I ever do with an extra??

Dinner:  3 jumbo CF eggs over easy in ghee, 3+ strips thick cut bacon, hash browns, small avocado, 24 oz All Day IPA

Probably a bit much.  Pretty good though.

Just stumbling through the work week.  On the plus side I do feel like I'm sleeping better, snoring is consistently down (at least according to the app) and tacos worked a bit of magic last night so that's all good.  I even checked a few things off the to do list.

Lunch:  Ham, swiss cheese, polish dill spears, Fage vanilla TruBlend yogurt, croissaints and butter

Standard.  Finished off the jar of pickles so I had an extra.

Snack:  4 strips thick cut bacon

Dinner:  Ham, cheese and salami grinder, 12 oz Miller Lite

I definitely do better if I have the pre-golf snack.  I'm quite satisfied with the half sandwich.

Exercise:  9 holes with cart, not much extra walking.  Just short of 2.5 miles.

Man.  I am not enjoying today's work requirements.  Do not want.

Otherwise, it's a standard Monday.

Lunch:  Smoked ham, swiss cheese, polish dills, croissaints with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt


Kinda hungry.  Absentmindedly grabbed the midsized croissaints at the store instead of the full sized one.  Won't really matter afaik, they just come 8 to a package instead of 4.

Dinner:  Tacos with avocado, sour cream, mexicheese and salsa, 12 oz All Day IPA, 12 oz Miller Lite


Had to make fresh taco meat and fresh seasoning.  Turned out good and now I have those things ready to go.  Used up the rest of my tortillas, otherwise I'd have five minute dinners for the rest of the week.  (I mean other than the nights I eat out or have breakfast or something...)

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day.  I probably could have gotten out this morning, I woke up early enough.  But I chose to snooze.

A pleasant, relaxing morning so far.  Slept decently -- it's been fun to see the low snore scores, I just wish I could sleep a bit longer and get more rested.  Getting some things done too.  Pleased.  Unsurprisingly the scale was down due to yesterday's activity.  Just another reminder that if I kept the eating in check at all three miles a day of walking would cause the weight to fall off.

Breakfast:  Breakfast tacos, coffee

Decided to try mixing up the ingredients (after cooking the eggs ldo).  Worked out pretty well, though this is clearly more filling than three tortillas needed.  With the jumbo eggs I should downsize to 1.  Usual mix of egg, mexicheese, sour cream, salsa and guac.

Lunch:  Red lentils - prepared with onion, garlic, spices, ghee and chicken stock

I like these as an easy lunch, I had good energy out on the golf course after eating.

Dinner:  Taco salsd with al pastor pork, strawberries with vanilla Rebel ice cream

Not such a huge salad tonight, but it was super fast and did the job.  Hit the spot.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, average extra walking.  Pedometer said a bit more than 5.5 miles.

Very tasty.  Lighting could have been upgraded, I didn't turn on all the lights.

Dinner:  2x Arby's greek "gyros", Rebel salted caramel ice cream

More ice cream than usual, needed the freezer space.

Well, looks like last night's blowup was a minor setback.  It was a fine example how the hunger can get me even now -- I just kept eating.  And unlike a normal person I never got uncomfortably full.  If I had had more food, I probably would have kept going.  It's awful.

Too much food yesterday and way too many carbs.  I knew I'd pay the price today and yup, there it was.  Same old story, I need to find a way to exercise during the week consistently and I need to tighten up the food choices.  Not rocket science.

Today will be a bit different since I won't have time to have lunch at home.  Instead it will be something from the drive thru in all likelihood.  Not stellar.

Lunch:  2 McDoubles minus ketchup

Dinner:  Domino's hand tossed pizza with pepperoni, ham and mushrooms
