A Decided Lack Of Work Enthusiasm

Sunday At Somewhere
Sunday, August 16, 2020
A pleasant, relaxing morning so far. Slept decently -- it's been fun to see the low snore scores, I just wish I could sleep a bit longer and get more rested. Getting some things done too. Pleased. Unsurprisingly the scale was down due to yesterday's activity. Just another reminder that if I kept the eating in check at all three miles a day of walking would cause the weight to fall off.
Breakfast: Breakfast tacos, coffee
Decided to try mixing up the ingredients (after cooking the eggs ldo). Worked out pretty well, though this is clearly more filling than three tortillas needed. With the jumbo eggs I should downsize to 1. Usual mix of egg, mexicheese, sour cream, salsa and guac.
Lunch: Red lentils - prepared with onion, garlic, spices, ghee and chicken stock
I like these as an easy lunch, I had good energy out on the golf course after eating.
Dinner: Taco salsd with al pastor pork, strawberries with vanilla Rebel ice cream
Not such a huge salad tonight, but it was super fast and did the job. Hit the spot.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart, average extra walking. Pedometer said a bit more than 5.5 miles.

Okay Let's Reverse It
Saturday, August 15, 2020
Another small jump, but still, too much rising this week. Changes will be required.
Breakfast: Breakfast tacos w 2 eggs, mexicheese, sour cream, salsa, avocado
Very tasty. Lighting could have been upgraded, I didn't turn on all the lights.
Lunch: Culver's mushroom and swiss burger, 12 oz Miller Lite
Is it lunch when it's almost 5:00?
Dinner: 2x Arby's greek "gyros", Rebel salted caramel ice cream
More ice cream than usual, needed the freezer space.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. With the weekly trip to the grocery store, the pedometer credited me with 7.25 miles.

Punishment Not Too Harsh
Friday, August 14, 2020
Well, looks like last night's blowup was a minor setback. It was a fine example how the hunger can get me even now -- I just kept eating. And unlike a normal person I never got uncomfortably full. If I had had more food, I probably would have kept going. It's awful.
Lunch: Ham, extra sharp cheddar, polish dill spears, croissaint with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt
Standard.
Dinner: Tacos with mexicheese, guac, sour cream, jalapeno verde salsa and fire sauce, 24 oz All Day IPA, salted caramel Rebel ice cream
Love tacos. And now I have tortillas.
Exercise: Nope. Pretty fatigued again today, need to shift the day and add a little extra sleep time too.

I Knew You Were Trouble Seriously
Thursday, August 13, 2020
Too much food yesterday and way too many carbs. I knew I'd pay the price today and yup, there it was. Same old story, I need to find a way to exercise during the week consistently and I need to tighten up the food choices. Not rocket science.
Today will be a bit different since I won't have time to have lunch at home. Instead it will be something from the drive thru in all likelihood. Not stellar.
Lunch: 2 McDoubles minus ketchup
No photo. They were edible.
Dinner: Domino's hand tossed pizza with pepperoni, ham and mushrooms
Been a while since a blowup like this. Might have beer too.
Exercise: Nope. Super fatigued tonight.

Bitingly Sarcastic Title Needed
Wednesday, August 12, 2020
Not full of pep today, though about 99% of my lack of enthusiasm is work-related. Physically other than a bit of a limp from sitting too long things are okay.
Lunch: Ham, extra sharp cheddar, polish dill spear, croissaint with butter, Fage vanilla TruBlend yogurt
Standard.
Dinner: 3 eggs over medium in butter, hash browns, 2 strips bacon, salsa, hot sauce, onion, 24 oz Miller Lite
All good. Might have popcorn later too.
Exercise: Nope.

And Then There Are Rebounds
Tuesday, August 11, 2020
The downside to exercise-induced drops on the weekend are rebounds after off days, especially when too much starch is consumed and the body was going to rehydrate anyway. Oh well. Still hoping to stay in a narrow range during the week.
Slept reasonably well but again tired when I got up. Thankfully it again faded pretty quickly. If I had the ability to make myself sleep earlier I would exercise it, the best I can do is hit the sack early and hope.
Lunch: Deitz and Watson black forest ham, extra sharp cheddar cheese, polish dill, croissaint with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt
Standard. Store was sold out of the usual ham so I hit the deli and got this kind. Quite good.
Snack: 5 strips Meijer thick cut bacon
Pre-golf food, helps keep the post round hunger down.
Dinner: Ham, cheese and salami grinder, 12 oz Miller Lite, Rebel salted caramel ice cream
All good.
Exercise: 9 holes with cart. Not that much walking, pedometer said just over 2.25 miles.

Love Drops Part Infinity
Monday, August 10, 2020
Summer weekends are the best. How can you not love what fresh air and exercise do for you? And not just on the scale, though that's the focus today.
For whatever reason I did not get to sleep last night until much later than usual. And consequently I was quite tired this morning. I was able to snooze some, but that never helps much. At least I'm OK now that I'm going, it was a short-lived tiredness. Hoping to be able to sleep earlier tonight.
Lunch: Ham, 2 slices extra share cheddar, polish dill spear, croissaint with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt
Standard.
Dinner: 2 eggs over medium in butter, hash browns in butter with cheese and onion, jalapeno verde salsa, guac, mexicheese, 4 strips Meijer thick cut bacon, 24 oz All Day IPA
Luxurious.
Exercise: Nope. Rest day.

Thassalotta Corn
Sunday, August 9, 2020
It struck me yesterday just how much corn I consumed - tortillas at two meals and popcorn at the other. Corn on corn. Fortunately as usual exercise covers the dietary deficiency and this morning felt pretty good.
More of the same on tap for today.
Breakfast: Breakfast tacos - 2 eggs, mexicheese, salsa, sour cream. Coffee
The sour cream was a nice, if visually dubious, addition to the tacos. And I may have inadvertently stumbled upon the best way to serve using the taco holders, they fit the giant bowls quite nicely. Maybe I should put the sour cream into a squeeze bottle to improve the look.
Lunch: Spicy lentils
Similar to last week but changed the seasoning - minus ginger, add chipotle power and ancho chili. Pretty tasty.
Dinner: Qdoba brisket bowl (lite rice, lite pintos, fajita veg, pico, roja, cheese, sour cream, guac), 12 oz Miller Lite, strawberries with Rebel vanilla ice cream
Well earned.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. Modest extra walking. Pedometer gave me just shy of 5 miles. Callus on the bottom of my foot plus 90 and super humid limited me some.

Title Shortage
Saturday, August 8, 2020
Whew, glad the weekend is here. Lots to do of course, but I hope to recharge a bit.
Not a whole lot of commentary to offer today. Nice to have a small dip on the scale this morning, being below where I was precorona is gratifying. Feeling decent, not quite great (ask again in 50 lbs), but decent. I still need to develop a consistent walking routine and maybe get some other exercise -- a little light resistance training would be great -- but walking is job 1.
Breakfast: Breakfast tacos (2 eggs scrambled in a bit of butter, mexicheese, jalapeno salsa verde), coffee
Quick and easy.
Lunch: 3 al pastor tacos, mexican style, 12 oz Miller Lite
Second time from this place, they're different. I'll keep exploring.
Dinner: Culver's mushroom and swiss double burger, cheese popcorn
May need to find another Saturday night meal until summer is over, it's too busy. Took 20 minutes to get my burger tonight and if I'd ordered more food it would have been longer still.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. Not as much walking since I had to drive the cart today. And I'm mad at myself, I stuck my pedometer in my golf bag with the car keys so I didn't get a mileage.

OK Stability

Darned Tenths
If only I had been able to let go of a little more this morning, could have passed another little milestone. Instead, it has to wait at least until tomorrow, or more likely until this weekend since I have plans this evening that involve eating out and having drinks.
Still, I'm pleased that going 2MADish is making a difference without any suffering. I still could stand to make adjustments to drop the carb count while keeping protein and fat up, but at least the lazy man's version is holding things steady until the weekends where walking 10-15 miles is doing the job.
Lunch: Ham, 2 slices swiss cheese, pickle spear, croissaint with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt
Another day, another standard lunch. Satisfying.
Dinner: Polish plate - kielbasas, kraut with bacon, cabbage roll, pierogis, sour cream, salad, 24 oz Two Hearted Ale
New food experience, enjoyed it. Didn't eat much of the salad, I'm not a huge fan of weird lettuce. No dressing. Otherwise, did some damage.
Exercise: Nope.

Put It In A Box
Not a tremendous amount of pep so far today. Not overtired, not dragging, just not enthusiastic. I'm going to have to push myself to get through with anything resembling a productive day.
Exercise plus a bit less for dinner appear to have kept things in check without a sizable gain. Definitely ate too much starch though since I had a bunch of potatoes at lunch.
Lunch: Ham, 2 slices swiss cheese, pickle spear, croissant with butter, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt
Standard lunch, still good. One of these days I'll get around to making some bread or rolls myself.
Dinner: Homemade tacos with mexican cheese blend, guac, fire sauce and Meijer jalapeno cilantro salsa, 24 oz All Day IPA, Rebel cherry chip ice cream
Have I mentioned that I love tacos? These were very good. Took about 40 minutes to make a big batch of tortillas, otherwise EZ PZ. And the salsa has some heat, which is awesome. Will be buying again - too bad I'm not eating tortilla chips.
Exercise: Nope. Was on my list of things I wanted to do tonight, but it's not happening.

On Scheduled
A pretty good morning today. Even though there wasn't a big drop on the scale or a hugely visible difference from any other day, I felt leaner this morning. Maybe it was just a decent night's sleep, not sure. Only woke up once before my alarm that I recall and went right back to sleep. Moving around pretty well, not too many aches or pains. In sum, a pretty good day so far.
Lunch: Leftover ribeye steak, 2 eggs over medium in butter, leftover mashed potatoes.
LOL, you can't tell where the eggs end and the potatoes begin. Added the eggs since I figured I had at most 4 oz of steak -- it was a 10 oz ribeye and there was a pretty good strip of fat attached. Had a slightly larger piece last night. Anyway, this was good and a bit excessive.
Snack: 5 strips leftover CF bacon
The fifth strip was in my mouth when I remembered to take a photo. A bit over reheated but fine.
Dinner: Ham, salami and extra cheese grinder, dill pickle spear, 12 oz Two Hearted Ale, bowl of Rebel cherry chip ice cream
Thanks to the snack I was not as hungry tonight, so I got the smaller sandwich. A little dish of the keto ice cream was an excellent capper on a decent day.
Exercise: 9 holes with cart, moderate extra walking. Pedometer said 2.5 miles.

Feeling Those Aftereffects
Saturday, August 1, 2020
Ahhh With Many Hs Saturday
Flip the calendar, one more month closer to ending this 2020 nonsense. July was pretty solid as I was able to lose nearly all of the COVID 19 bloat. This week featured a successful transition to something more resembling 2MAD, though I did have a bobble and stretched those eating windows a couple times. All in all, a success.
Breakfast: Breakfast tacos -- 2 scrambled eggs, mexican cheese blend, onion, tomato, fire sauce. 2 strips CF applewood bacon, coffee
Really tasty. Really enjoyed this breakfast.
Lunch: Qdoba brisket bowl -- sm scoops rice and pintos, brisket, fajita veg, salsa, cheese, sour cream and guac.
Been a long time. Was going to try a new mexican place but you had to call in to place a takeout order so I went to Qdoba around the corner instead. One of the better bowls I've had.
Dinner: Culvers mushrooms swiss burger, 12 oz Miller Lite
Lunch and dinner were a little close together (4pm, 7pm), that's just the way it goes. Was going to have strawberries and ice cream but I think I'll skip it.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart, lots of extra walking looking for other people's lost golf balls. I acutally grabbed the pedometer this morning, it said 5.5 miles, plus tack on another 2 more for a trip to the tent sale and a long hike around the grocery store. If I don't cramp up I'll sleep well tonight!
