Repeat Limping

Again limping to the finish line of another month.  It's not been a great one.  Not enough getting done, going backwards on the eating and weight, not enough exercise.   I need to do much better in July.

Anyway, I have a very interesting idea for the upcoming month, will be interested to see if I can pull it off.  Today, however, is still June.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with veggie cream cheese, coffee, donuts


Cleaned up the cream cheese, which will hopefully remove the temptation to make lazy bagels on Sunday mornings.

Lunch:  Maiz tortilla chips and salsa, mexican coke

No protein.  Yeesh.

Dinner:  Steak, salad no dressing, chips, 12 oz Miller Lite, ice cream


Also 2x big mac, coke

Planning is more fun than execution every time.  Ugh.  The execution is often drudgery.  Oh well.  I mention this because at the end of the day I came up with a very interesting plan.  We will see if I can carry it out.  Not going into details just yet.

Big thunderstorm rolled through this morning just after 6:00.  Knocked down a bunch of branches and took out the power for a couple hours.  Looks like it wasn't long enough to make anything in the fridge go bad, so thank goodness for that.  It did make for an interesting morning getting going in the dark.

Otherwise, just another day.  June rolls on like a freight train.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  Again had a few dark chocolate blueberries mid-morning.

Again.  Now I have to decide what to have tomorrow.

Didn't get the reboot, but that's okay.  I got to bed at a reasonable hour (after dozing in the recliner ... it's hard to get up once you start doing that) and woke up at a good time.  But I promptly went back to sleep and didn't get up until 7:30.  I'm going to call the extra sleep, which felt like good quality, a win.  Even if I didn't accompish my original goal.

Looking forward to a cooler, drier day.  It's been hot lately and my A/C has been out.  I've actually been surprised how well I've tolerated it, but yesterday wasn't enjoyable due to the near 100% humidity.  

Still hoping that the upcoming week will be good for some improvements. 

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w veggie cream cheese, coffee


Again made a half batch, enjoyable.

Lunch:  Culvers bacon deluxe, onion rings

Tasty but slow.

Dinner:  BLT, corn on the cob, chips, 16 oz Mich Ultra, way too many Pringles, moose tracks ice cream

Let's Reset Once Again

Early start today, alarm went off at 5:30.  Hoping that I can use that as a launching pad to shift my schedule -- I've really been staying up late recently, midnight has not been uncommon -- which has made getting up early a thing which is not happening.

Also a thing which has not been happening is disciplined eating.  Today will be no different, as will tomorrow.  But maybe this week I can reset that too.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, 3 strips bacon, raisin toast w homemade jam, coffee


Standard.

Lunch:  ~ 12 oz Miller Lite, sandwich sliders x3 w a few veggies, frosted sugar cookie, can fruit punch and lemonade

Grad party food.

Dinner:  Barbacoa, mashed potatoes, guac, 12 oz Founders MI P1lsner, avo oil chips


This was supposed to be Thursday dinner so I felt compelled to eat it.  It was fine.

Tonight's Creami experiment:


Maple bacon ice cream.  With chocolate sauce and peanuts.   Not quite perfect.

I bought a new toy, a Ninja Creami.  It's about to get all frozen dessert up in here.

Not good for my dietary ambitions, but I bet it'll be an enjoyable ride.

Lunch:  Leftover home ovencheeseburger, a few Maiz chips with salsa


Cleanup.  Somehow forgot to take a photo, so here is one from yesterday.

Dinner:  Cheese hot dogs w mustard and dill relish, a few good crisps, 12 oz All Day IPA, creami'd pineapple 



Finished off the dogs.  Bought a little container of good crisps at the health food store.  Out of curiosity I looked at their regular chips - good thing I did.  Sunflower oil.  Dammit.  Guess I'll stick to the occasional pringle style.

The creami'd pineapple was delightful.  Just a can of chunks in juice, frozen and spun.  Very enjoyable.  Just ordered some protein power, plan to try some lighter protein ice creams.

It's Not Just Calories In

Monday again.  Sigh.  Very much not ready for it.  Especially when I woke up at 6:00 with toe-curling cramps in both feet.  Yeow, that was unpleasant.  I don't think these were likely electrolyte-influenced, I think there is a physical element to it.  I had been sleeping in the recliner for quite a few hours so the body position may well have been a factor.  Dunno.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the confirmation that the human body is a black box.  I probably ate 7,000 calories yesterday.   Drank gallons of liquid.  Was fully prepped for a big gain this morning.  Did I get one?  Nope.  Fractionally down.  LOL'd, will LOL again.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  I had a couple yogurt blueberries mid-morning.


Yup.

Lunch:  Leftover brisket w Stubbs BBQ sauce, grilled cheese


Cleanup.  Was okay.

Dinner:  3x cheese dogs w mustard and dill relish, a couple bites of potato salad, 12 oz All Day IPA, SF butterscotch pudding


Localish dogs from the bbq place, local buns with clean ingredients.  I tried making a bit of potato salad with avo oil mayo (Chosen) and didn't really care for it.  Oh well.  And you know what, the dogs would have been fine without the buns.  But since I found them I figured I'd give them a try.

Had a great plan to avoid heating up the kitchen by grilling the dogs and burgers for tomorrow and Wednesday lunch, but the grill was not operational.  Doh.  

Add:  Maiz chips and Frontera double smoked salsa

Happy Sunday.  The weekends as so short.  So much to do.  But thankful none the less.

I'm very much stuck in a range weight-wise.  Really, really poor diet discipline right now.  When I could post a nice drop on the weekends due to exercise I eat more.  I crack at random times.  It's just pathetic.  Really need to do better but it won't be today.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w veggie cream cheese, coffee


Made a half batch.  Very tasty.  Later had 4 strips of thick cut bacon


Lunch:  Culver's bacon deluxe


Tasty but very slow service.  Nearly made me late.

Dinner:  Home cheeseburger with mustard, lettuce and tomato, chips, homemade potato salad, strawberry shortcake w vanilla ice cream

Made a trip to the BBQ place, was hungry so I added snack sticks and ate those immediately.  Nice clean ingredient list (beef, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, spices) and they were tasty, may have to buy again.  Ate less of the brisket as a result but had too much bbq sauce.

Nothing of note, things are pretty much routine.  For whatever reason I felt leaner this morning even though the scale was only marginally different.  I was pleased, of course, to see it lower even if not much.   It may be that I have to ditch more carbs sooner rather than later, but we will see.

Oh I Hate Being Right

Well, I was right.  I wasn't the same weight for the fourth day in a row.  I was up a fraction after eating eight million late carbs.  No, not the end of the world, not close.  Only slightly annoying.  

The most annoying thing is that during a couple meals lately I've felt a bit of satiety during.  Not enough to stop eating, but a feeling of hey, I'm going to be satisfied when I'm done with this bowl of soup or burger.  Last night, nah, pure psychological (and almost psychotic) need to eat.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Lunch:  Home ovencheeseburger w/ mustard


Pretty tasty.  A little extra cheese.  Could have used some grilled onions or sauce.

Dinner:  Chili cheese hot dogs, 2 slices sharp cheddar, mustard and dill relish.  12 oz All Day IPA.


From the BBQ place.  House made dogs, pretty clean for the most part.  Tasted good, and I'll have the rest of them tomorrow.   A bit too much cheese today.  Pleasantly satisfied after dinner -- I was worried going in that it was not going to be enough.

I was not ready for it to be Monday.  Did not get to sleep until very late, well after midnight.  It was hard to get up this morning.  

A bit relieved not to have a big gain yesterday after eating a lot of food, much of it bad for me.  The extra exercise was just enough.

Lunch:  Soup, grilled brisket and cheese sandwich

A blast from the recent past.  I forgot to grab my phone so no photo.  Used up the last of the brisket.

Dinner:  2x mexican, 2x american tacos, 12 oz All Day IPA, Brown Cow plain yogurt w wild blueberries


Decided to go full retro, since I did not feel like waiting to cook my planned steak.  Did not realize the yogurt I bought at the health food store was not greek.  I definitely prefer the greek.

Too Soon For The Ad Blitz

Thank goodness for another weekend day.  I won't come close to getting everything done, but it sure helps to have a few hours to do things.

Pleased to have slept decently again.  Went to bed at a reasonable hour, woke up at 3:00 and felt pretty good after maybe five hours of sleep.  Eventually dozed back off in the recliner and "slept in" until about 7:00.  Not a whole lot of deep sleep in the chair, I simply wasn't that sleepy.  Which may be in meaningful part due to somewhat better eating.  I had dinner early too.

As a bonus, a nice drop on the scale, despite the big breakfast and the pile of brisket.  

Breakfast:  Grilled brisket and cheese sandwich with a little botana sauce, coffee

Had bread to use up, also cleaned up a package of cheese.  I saved a fat slice of brisket but it was way too much so I only used half of it, guess another sandwich may be in my future...

Lunch:  2 eggs scrambled, CF chorizo, mashed potatoes

Made a batch of mash since I had potatoes to use up.

Dinner:  American goulash, garlic toast, salad no dressing, strawberries, 12 oz Coors Light, sheet cake w vanilla ice cream

Birthday party.

Also:  Wendys 2x singles.  Doh.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, lots of extra walking.  Best day for that in a while.

Good day so far.  Could have used more sleep than I got, but that's okay.  It was enough.  Quality was fine.  Early start today for golf, which also went well.

Hit up a convenient BBQ place on the way back for a pound of brisket.  It's decent, if not my favorite place.  I may need to keep some spicy and not sugary sauce on hand for when I get the chance to pick some up.  Anyway, I did some damage.  At least I did not eat all of it!

Sometime after dinner last night the body decided it was okay to release the water.  So it did.  And is still doing.  Oy.

Felt like I slept fine but I was quite tired when I woke up this morning.  Dozed as long as I could and got more actual sleep than normal.  Have felt okay, but I will want to monitor.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Lunch:  Leftover home ovencheeseburger


Tasty.  I know to go full LC I should ditch the bread, but I think I'll wait on that until the water slows down and/or I'm out of bread.  Still have at least half a loaf in the freezer.  This is good local bread, not mass garbage.

Dinner:   4 eggs sunny, hash browns in olive oil, 5 strips bacon, hatch chiles.  12 oz All Day IPA


Same as yesterday except with chiles instead of guac.  It was ... too much food?

Seriously, there needs to be a new Olympic sport, weight gain.  I swear I'd be world class.  

About all I can hope for is that the consequences of recent stupidity are largely made up of water.  And that it departs as rapidly as it arrived.  Hoping.

Otherwise, glad the week is moving right along.

Also, I may need to find another meat source.  I have long prefered to get my meat from CF, but when I stopped in today, they had almost no inventory.  No bacon of any kind.  No chorizo.  No sausage patties, though I did get some links.  Spent less than sixty bucks, when I was expecting double that.
