I Pay $5 Per Dozen For Eggs

Sunday, January 3, 2016

That's right.  Okay, it's actually $4.89 or even as low as $3.75 if I actually go to the farm, but I do it.  And I don't mind.  I can use high quality local ingredients and it's still less expensive than eating out like I do.  Now if I can just bring myself to pay the premium for chicken.

Anyway, it's looking like a lazy Sunday before things slam back into high gear tomorrow.  Life is good.

Breakfast:  2 eggs fried in a bit of butter, 4 slices Hormel jalapeno bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee.  640 calories.

Going for a different presentation.  Back to the big bowl next time I think.
Calorie count is a shade different because I overpoured the hash browns.  Should have measured them.  Oops.  I did measure the butter.  I need to get some new batteries for my kitchen scale so I can start being more precise, too.

Lunch:  Turkey and Cheese sandwich (Onion roll, butter, mustard, deli turkey, 1 slice sharp cheddar), a bowl of chicken noodle soup with vegetables.  675 calories.

Continuing with the theme of same or similar food,
different visualization
Yum.  The addition of chicken, even if it was just leftover chicken breast, certainly didn't hurt.  I also simmered it a bit longer, I could probably go longer yet.  I have at least 2 hearty bowls left too.

Dinner:  Beef roast, gravy, Betty Crocker 4 cheese mashed potatoes, carrots, 2 snowflake rolls with a little butter, 12 oz Miller Lite.  1,200 calories

Thatsa lotta calories
The calorie count should be in the ball park anyway.  I obviously didn't weigh or measure anything.  Oh, and I'll probably have leftovers tomorrow.

Exercise:  Nope.  Some might call it a day of rest, I call it being a lazy bum.  Need to start a streak.

Total Calories:  2,515.  Over but not by much.  If I had exercised, it would have been an okay day.
