Monday: Back Again

 Monday, September 17, 2012

After a picture-perfect late summer weekend it hardly seems fair that it's Monday already.  Of course it's one of those days where I acknowledge that I could have used to work this weekend and I did not.  I played.  Hit the golf course and watched football.

And, oh yeah, I ate too much.  The scale was definitely up a few pounds this morning when I weighed in.  Nothing drastic but I really need to not go quite so crazy on the weekends.  Weekdays other than Tuesday nights (and that's about over) aren't too bad and I'm in the saddle today, but c'mon son.

Not sure what I'm going to do for exercise tonight.  If the rain holds off I might cut the grass, if it doesn't I may just "work out" around the house since I didn't make it all the way through the cleaning routine yesterday.  There just aren't enough hours in the day.

Breakfast:  1 oz genoa salami, 1 big slice Kraft sharp cheddar cheese, coffee

Lunch:  3 eggs scrambled and cooked in butter with some onion and green pepper, Jimmy Dean sausage crumbles, 1 big slice Kraft sharp cheddar, coffee

Not tired of eggs, not tired of egg pictures
Dinner:  3 Johnsonville beef brats, grilled.  1 medium organic russet potato peeled, boiled and "mashed" with about 1/2T butter.

ZOMG TWO PICS in one day!

So I'm lazy and just fork-mashed the potatoes after taking this pic...
Snack:  1 bag Meijer Naturals double butter popcorn

Exercise:  None.  I chased around the house doing stuff for an hour plus after dinner but that doesn't really count.  It certainly wasn't anything dedicated.

A couple of random thoughts while I'm thinking of them:

Still no clue on what I'm going to do for exercise now that the days are getting shorter.  I guess I can always walk when the weather is decent (which is most of the time), not sure how excited I am to do that in the dark though.  Maybe I should try doing it at lunch.  Not likely though.

I should also go back to packing a snack for the golf course.  Jerky or peanuts would probably be better than a brat with bun or peanut butter crackers.  Cheaper too.

Speaking of cheaper, I really need to focus on reducing spending on food.  That means more eating at home and just plain eating less.  There has been some progress but not enough.
