You know what makes a difference? Walking. Exercise of some sort. That and not eating too much. It was gratifying to see the scale tick down a bit. Less than three weeks until an interim goal.
Felt pretty decent this morning, considering. I would have like to have time to sleep in, but oh well. Hopefully with some more losses I'll continue to feel better and better when I wake up.
Also: Too bad tomorrow has to be Monday already. The weeknds go too quick.
Breakfast: 2 hot shots, coffee
Pre-lunch: Bloody mary, 24 oz Miller Lite
Lunch: Wendy's single with cheese (no bun), jr bacon cheeseburger (no bun)
You gotta love those free single offers.
Dinner: Sirloin steak, a little salad with a splash of ranch dressing, 12 oz Miller Lite
Pretty easy to mostly eat steak. Successfully skipped the potato chips. Steak was pretty lean, should have figured out a way to get more fat.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart

Saturday, Setpember 15, 2018
Glad it's the weekend. Got off to a great start last night, let's keep the good times rolling. I was a bit bloated this morning after too much pizza and a couple beers.
Breakfast: 1 hot shot, coffee
Lunch: Wendy's single (no bun, less cheese), double stack (no bun), 16 oz Miller Lite
It was almost 3:00 by the time I got lunch. A little hungry but not too bad.
Dinner: 3 eggs over medium in butter, 5 strips thick cut bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter
GOAT. I'm debating having 12 oz of Founders Solid Gold

A fun evening.
Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: 3 egg omelet with bacon, cream cheese, avocado; 2 sausage patties
Hey! Satiety! And I made the decision not to finish it off after I was full. Good times.
Dinner: 12" pepperoni sausage pizza, 24 oz Shiner Bock
Excessive. Went to a show so I went with commercial pizza from a local place. They killed it. So, so good.
Exercise: Nope.

I'm so fascinated by the unpredictabiliy of the human body. Scale was up a touch today. Was it too many carbs yesterday? Was it the pizza the night before? Some retained water or ... other stuff? The mediocre night of short sleep? Impossible to say. And I need to remind myself not to sweat it, if I do enough good things over time it'll work out.
Breakfast: Coffee
Thought about food just after I walked out the door, decided it wasn't important. It wasn't.
Lunch: Qdoba brisket bowl v. 2.1
Same bowl as yesterday minus the rice (not even a small scoop), minus the beans and minus the queso. Decided that regular cheese had a better chance of not having garbage like vegetable oil in it since I hadn't looked anything up on Qdoba's site. It was just fine without the starch.
Dinner: 2 eggs over medium in butter, 5 strips thick bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter
May just start referring to this as the GOAT. Delicious as always, bacon was especially perfect.
Exercise: Nope. Sluggish again this morning. I woke up early enough I guess at 6:30 but didn't feel great. Or even good. Fine once I got going.

Adventures in Satiety
Wednesday, September 12, 2018
Another modest milestone today. I went to Qdoba for lunch because Qdoba sounded good. Other than pizza and breakfast it's probably the thing that sounds good most often right now, even above burgers and steak. Anyway, I got the usual (new usual) brisket bowl and ate at a leisurely pace. Before it was gone ... I was sated. Wow. Just like last night, I ate half or so and my stomach and brain actually agreed that I didn't really want to eat any more. People who haven't been fat4lyfe won't understand this, but it's an amazing thing to experience when you virtually never** have.
(** I generally don't experience hunger when eating fewer carbs & no sugar but that doesn't mean I ever really felt full or sated, see, e.g. meltdowns with pizza and chips/onion dip)
Breakfast: Coffee
I brought in some jerky but I wasn't feeling it this morning, so I listened to my body and put off eating.
Lunch: Qdoba brisket bowl
Small scoop rice, same of pinto beans, brisket, fajita veggies, queso diablo, cheese, pico, roja, sour cream, guac and jalapenos. I need to dial back the cheese/queso some but so good.
Dinner: 2 eggs over medium+ in a sliver of butter, 4 strips Wright thick cut applewood bacon, Alexia hashbrowns in Kerrygold butter.
Since I didn't have breakfast for lunch or for breakfast I could have breakfast for dinner instead of breakfast for lunch, besides I had dinner for lunch. Got that? Only a 9.5/10, since one of the yolks broke and overcooked slightly. So good tho. Probably should have skipped the hash browns, we'll see how the scale looks tomorrow.
Exercise: Nope. Poor sleep last night, was not feeling right this morning when I woke up. Not the weaknesss, but some tightness and general unpleasantness. It's not there tonight, at least.

Pretty routine day. After watching a show about pizza last night I was ready for one tonight.
Breakfast: Coffee
Early start, decided to punt on breakfast.
Lunch: Wendy's single, no bun. Double stack, no bun. 4 pc chicken nuggets
Not one of the better Wendy's meals I've had.
Dinner: Pepperoni sausage pizza, 40 oz Miller Lite
Sated after half again, ate the rest a bit later even though I didn't really, really need it.
Exercise: 9 holes with cart

Bacon Does Make It Better
Monday, September 10, 2018
Apparently not eating much and getting a round of golf is good for a bump downward on the scale.
Breakfast: Container of Fage 5% plain yogurt, coffee
Lunch: Omelet with extra sausage, onion and cheese
Dinner: Taco meat, spicy beans, mexican cheese, salsa, small avocado
Ate about half of it (all of the avocado). Just wasn't feeling it.
Also: 6 strips thick cut bacon
Decided to clean up the package before it went bad. Not pictured.
Exercise: Nope.

Extensively Buttered
Sunday, September 9, 2018
After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that using lots of butter makes the eggs and hash browns even better. Oh, they're delicious cooked in a bit of butter, but give them a couple tablespoons of kerrygold and they're magnificent.
Breakfast: 2 eggs over medium in butter, 6 strips Wright thick cut applewood bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee
The undisputed GOAT breakfast around here.
Lunch: None.
Dinner: American goulash (basically canned spaghetti and ground beef) with parmesan cheese, salad with about a tsp of ranch dressing, 12 oz Miller Lite
I did have another small scoop of the goulash, but was able to dodge the garlic toast, birthday cake and ice cream so it wasn't too awful.
I didn't really have enough to eat, especially considering no lunch, but I didn't get home until after 8:30 so I'll live with it.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. Feet didn't hurt too much afterward, though they're not thrilled.

Things Which Are Glorious
Saturday, September 8, 2018
The list starts with cooler, less humid weather, continues with football season and ends with pizza. Yeah, I know. Pizza.
Breakfast: ~ 2 oz CF cajun beef jerky, coffee
Lunch: 3 slices of assorted pizza, 12 oz Miller Lite
Golf-related function. A stronger man could have said no. When it comes to pizza I have no chance. I did manage to discreetly dump a cookie I was given at the turn.
Dinner: Taco bowl - CF ground beef w taco seasoning, spicy beans, mexican cheese blend, salsa, sour cream and a small avocado. 12 oz Founders Solid Gold
I think I'm down to about six beers left at home.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. Feet are hurting pretty bad tonight.

Glad to limp through another week. It helped that it was 4 days and not too packed but still, I'm fairly fried. Looking forward to a relaxing evening.
I probably shouldn't eat so much Qdoba. At least not the way I do it.
Breakfast: Coffee
Took my car in, waited so long that I never got around to breakfast.
Lunch: 3 egg omelet w bacon, cream cheese and avocado, sausage patties
Standard.
Dinner: Rye/parmesan pizza with pepperoni and green olives
Exercise: Nope

Tired this morning. Feet were a little cranky too, which is always a bummer. At least it wasn't a terrible day at work. Tired tonight. Going to bed early, I hope.
Breakfast: Container of Fage 5% greek yogurt, coffee
Hardly seems like it needs a picture, but here's one anyway.
Lunch: Wendy's Double, no bun
Late lunch after a meeting. I was thinking baconator but the dave's double is a lot cheaper. No picture.
Dinner: Qdoba brisket bowl
Plan was to have a homemade bowl but I was too tired and it was too late. Couldn't muster any enthusiasm for cooking.
Exercise: Nope. I did move around more than typical for an office day but still ... nope.

Couldn't avoid the hit for eating that junk yesterday. At least it was homemade. Still, not good. I'm sure I'll um dispose of it in the next day or two but still. Scheduled pizza tonight, glad we're getting to the end of the golf season during the week so I can cut that out.
Breakfast: Container of Fage 5% plain greek yogurt, coffee
Lunch: Omelet with cheese, onion, extra sausage
Dinner: Thin crust pizza w pepperoni, sausage and onion, 40 oz Miller Lite
Exercise: 9 holes with cart. Humid af again.

Down Down Down
Monday, September 3, 2018
What a wet weekend. Heavy rain each day, rained out completely this morning and I"m sure the golf course is under water. Not sure what I'm going to do today instead -- I should absolutely go work but that's probably not going to happen.
In a good mood. It helps that the rain isn't the only thing coming down. Long ways to go but a little weight is coming off. I'm somewhat optimistic that I"ve come up with a sustainable rotation of breakfast and lunch options and if I can keep the pizza cravings in check things will be OK. First target weight should be attainable in six to eight weeks.
Breakfast: 2 eggs over easy in butter, 6 strips bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee
Standard weekend breakfast, light on the potatoes since I was finishing off a bag. Probably smart since I"ll be having potato salad for dinner. Delicious as always.
Lunch: Bowl of homemade veg beef soup, ~ 1 1/2 oz Meijer double cheddar, medium avocado
This was excessive. I forgot how satisfying a pint of the soup is.
Dinner: Hamburger patty with mustard, homemade potato salad and mac n cheese, 12 oz Miller Lite
Wildly excessive. I need to do better. I did turn down pie and ice cream, so there's that.
Exercise: Nope. Rained out.

Unshutoffable
Sunday, September 2, 2018
Okay, that was weird. I couldn't get to sleep. I kinda watched a football game while cleaning, finished about 11:00. I was not the least bit sleepy. Went to bed a bit later, still not sleepy. I don't think any sleepiness kicked in until after 1 and didn't really sleep until after 3:00. It's going to be a rocky day though I don't feel too bad as of breakfast.
Yesterday was the most productive day around the house I've had in months. Did all the laundry, sheets, dishes, picked the whole place up, cleaned the bathroom, reorganized the spare room, etc etc etc. It was amazing. Nothing was at a super fast pace, but I never ran out of pep. Happy.
Breakfast: 2 eggs over easy in butter, 6 strips Wright thick applewood bacon, Alexia hashbrowns in Kerrygold butter, coffee
I know I brag on this breakfast but it's so good. And today was absolutely perfect, 11/10. Glorious.
Lunch: ~ 2 oz Meijer double cheddar
Searched for some nuts at the bar at the turn, none available
Dinner: 8 oz CF spicy beef bacon, 12 oz Founders Solid Gold
I also had a spoonful of homemade potato salad prepped for tomorrow. Gotta taste test you know.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. Humid, kinda wilted on the back nine.

Cheesy Grazing
Saturday, September 1, 2018
Football Saturday! I've had too much cheese already, should probably not have any more today.
I've actually accomplished a decent amount today which is nice. The weakness hasn't been a notable factor other than briefly first thing this morning which is great. Things are fitting a bit better. It's good.
Breakfast: 2 oz Meijer double cheddar cheese, coffee
Grab and go since I wanted to get out the door and to the golf course.
Snack: Bloody mary with Tito's vodka, cheese and olive garnish, pickle
I guess you can call it a snack. Waiting out a rain delay.
Lunch: Parmesan/rye cheese pizza
We'll see if this makes the day too carby. Grazing. Additional benefit of cleaning up the sauce and mozzarella. I was already out of pepperoni.
Dinner: ~ 1/2 lb of CF garlic black pepper beef bacon
A nice and easy way to have some tasty beef.
Exercise: 9 holes with cart. Rained out after that.

Friday, August 31, 2018
Whew. Limped home to the conclusion of the week. Not that I got all much accomplished or that it was that hard, I just didn't have much juice.
My stomach was less than enthused by last night's dinner experiment. I don't think I'll be buying that again.
Breakfast: Container of Fage 5% plain yogurt, coffee
Lunch: Omelet with cheese, onion and extra sausage
Dinner: Rye-parmesan crust pizza with pepperoni
A little more generous than last week, and it turns out not quite as good. Still tasty though.

The Season
Thursday, August 30, 2018
Wow, August is almost over. Football season is here.
Breakfast: Container of Fage 5% plain yogurt, coffee
Lunch: Wendy's baconator, no bun
Hard to turn down a half price baconator. Good sandwich, could have specified no mayo/ketchup.
Dinner: CF corned beef hash, 1 egg fried in butter
Bought a package of this a while back and finally cooked it up. It was ... different. Wildly overseasoned (my fault, I didn't taste test adequately) and much meatier than most CBH. Dunno if I'd get it again.
Exercise: Nope. Did sleep a little better last night, still dragging though.

Unexpected Satiety
Wednesday, August 29, 2018
Continuing onward. Had an unusual moment at lunch today. I had finished most of my omelet and patties and I was ... full? This is not normal for me, obviously a reason why I'm fat. It was a nice feeling. Of course I'm a dumbass and ate the last few bites, I still have to work on letting go of the old children-are-starving-in-Africa-so-clean-your-plate mentality. But fullness is a happy thing.
In hindsight I was feeling some of that last night too. This is such a good thing. And if I can keep the planned bumps to mostly Tuesday night (at least for a couple more weeks), Friday night and Sunday night that would be swell.
Breakfast: Coffee
Lab work this morning so no breakfast.
Lunch: 3 egg omelet with bacon, cream cheese and avocado, 2 sausage patties
Standard stuff. It's on the expensive side -- five bucks more than the other place -- but will still be a regular feature in the rotation I think.
Dinner: Spicy beans, Meijer taco cheese, salsa, sour cream
That's a lot of beans. Cleaned out the fridge a bit with the other stuff. Did decide to chuck the rest of the leftover rice, so that's a small step away from kidsinAfricaitis.
Exercise: Nope. Weakness is a little more sporadic, which is a positive, but I don't like the feeling when it's there. Did not get enough sleep last night which does not help.

Steam Bath, Extra Steam
Monday, August 27, 2018
After a hot, humid day and some overnight thunder it's going to be another steam bath this afternoon. I'm almost -- almost -- pleased that it's a work day where I can spend most of it inside in the air conditioning.
Tolerated last nights overindulgence pretty well. Slept decently, got rid of the waste, felt okay when I got up this morning. Feet weren't bad either after weekend golf. But now at mid-morning the weakness is present. May need to try laying off the coffee, see if that helps. Edit: I'm pretty sure it's not the coffee, but I'm concerned about what it could be.
Breakfast: 2 oz CF cajun beef jerky, coffee
I could take pictures, sure, but it hardly seems worthwhile. Oh, and I spilled coffee on myself. It's definitely Monday.
Lunch: Omelet with onion, cheese and extra sausage
Delivered again. Going to be a thing.
Dinner: Bigass leftover burrito bowl -- same as Saturday plus a scoop of spicy beans
I dunno why this seemed so much bigger tonight. Just added a few beans, maybe a tiny amount more rice. Didn't get carried away with either. Anyway, I'm stuffed.
Exercise: Nope. Slept okay, needed every bit of it. Feet felt decent this morning. I need to take some baby steps here in hopes that it will help the weakness.

Season
Sunday, August 26, 2018
Glad to have one more weekend day and looking forward to a holiday weekend.
Breakfast: 2 eggs over medium in butter, Alexia hash browns in butter, many strips of bacon, coffee
Hash browns were much more done than usual but were fine. Used a bigger skillet, made quite the difference.
Lunch: Single serve package of Planters salted cashews
Snack in between nines. Didn't need a regular lunch due to lateness of breakfast.
Dinner: Logan's Roadhouse. 12 oz sirloin, mashed potatoes with gravy, mushroom skewer, a yeast roll with butter, peanuts, 22 oz Miller Lite
Excessive. Definitely excessive. And I'm so not good at declining stuff when I'm with company. I'm stuffed, my gut is rumbling a bit and I'm looking forward to crashing hard.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart. Brutally humid.

Temped
Saturday, August 25, 2018
Weekends are full of temptation. Sometimes I pass the test, sometimes I fail.
Breakfast: 2 eggs over medium+, 3 strips bacon, hash browns, 2 slices raisin toast, coffee
Had breakfast out with golf crowd, short on time and the place was short staffed. I went with the quick order, i.e. same as the rest. Considered eating only one slice of toast (or neither) but failed.
Lunch: 12 oz Miller Lite, container of Fage 5% plain greek yogurt
Post golf beer and yogurt when I got home. I thought about having something more substantial but I'm going to have a big mexi-bowl for dinner so I think I'll skip it.
Dinner: Homemade burrito bowl. Vigo cilantro-lime rice, ~ 8 oz CF ground sirloin w Ortega hot and spicy taco seasoning, cheese, sour cream, Herdez salsa, 1 large avocado
This was huge, very heavy and tasty. Will eat again (duh, I have leftovers). It's not ideal - for one I need to make my own taco seasoning, for another it has rice - but delicious.
Will be having a drink too, shot of Templeton Rye with ice and water.
Exercise: 18 holes with cart
Felt about as good as I have lately for the first nine, got in a bunch of extra walking. The last few holes my heels started hurting and the weakness set in, but all in all a pretty good day. I'm hoping that I'll continue to feel incrementally better.

Yeah I Am Weird
Friday, August 24, 2018
A long week drags to a close.
I couldn't decide what to have for dinner tonight. Gave much consideration to going Qdoba yet again. Ultimately decided I could tide myself over long enough to make a homemade pizza. Decided to make it with rye flour for no obvious reason. Like I said, I'm weird.
Breakfast: Coffee
Late again. I could have had something later but no big deal.
Lunch: Omelet with cheese, onion and extra sausage
Delivered. This might become a regular thing.
Dinner: 1 large avocado; Rye/parmesan homemade pizza with pepperoni
Lots of calories, lots of fat. A long ways from just meat, but hey it's Friday night. Crust was about 1/3C parmesan, about 1/3C rye flour, a couple tablespoons of butter, baking powder, salt, water and italian seasoning. Slightly reminiscent of a ry krisp just not quite as crispy and no sesame seeds. Which would actually be a nice addition. Hmm, I wonder if I have any.
Exercise: Nope. Not too peppy.

Very First World Problems
Thursday, August 23, 2018
No wifi at home this week as a result of the disaster. I could post these by phone but have been too lazy.
Breakfast: Coffee
Another day of being too late to really eat. It's been an insanely busy week and I have gotten out and out the door just barely in time. No morning breaks. Fortunately I haven't been too hungry.
Lunch: 3 egg omelet w bacon cream cheese and avocado, 2 sausage patties
Dependably good.
Dinner: Qdoba brisket bowl, same as previous
Not quite as good as the last one, but still good.
Exercise: Nope.

Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: Wendy's double with cheese, no bun
Happy hour: ~22 oz Budweiser
I asked for miller lite, pretty sure I got budweiser.
Dinner: Qdoba brisket bowl - small scoop of rice and beans, fajita veggies, queso diablo, pico, roja, cheese, sour cream, guac.
They actually listened and kept the beans and rice to a minimum. Very tasty. Not ideal, but tasty.
Exercise: Nope.

Monday, August 20, 2018
Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: 3 egg omelet with bacon, avocado, cream cheese, sausage patties
Dinner: Homemade soup
This was most of a quart jar instead of the usual pint. Turned out decent and it's always better reheated.
