Bring It Home To A Close

Sunday, December 31, 2023

TGIS.  No not that one, the other one.  And I'm super glad that tomorrow is a holiday.  It's almost noon and I'm finally about to kick myself out the door.  I have a bunch of work stuff I'd like finish at a reasonable hour, since I want no part whatsoever of being out and about tonight.  It's amateur night.

A stray thought I had this morning - I am optimistic about beaujolais being a wine I can drink without the nasty side effects (aka leg cramps) I have had in the past.  Had some at Thanksgiving and two consecutive nights at Christmas without issue, though of course there was also a metric ton of food involved which could have possibly covered up any issues.  I guess we will see in the new year, I bought another bottle and will crack it once I am out of Lite beers.

Otherwise, it was a fairly unpleasant start to the day.  Woke up at 2:45 to get rid of some water, did go back to sleep quickly (moved to recliner) and did not fully wake again until 8:00.  Despite the eight hours plus I felt like ass.  When I finally got around to checking it's another morning of high BP, lowish pulse, though that only explains some things.  I'm also apparently deathly allergic to something environmental.  Maybe all the dust I stirred up yesterday.

Breakfast:  Buttermilk pancakes with butter and maple syrup, bacon, spicy low sodium V-8, coffee

A monster stack of cakes and I have one just like it for tomorrow.  And I want to figure out if there is anything I should do with the last 2C of buttermilk I have left.  The cakes were above average, nice and fluffy.

Lunch:    Jersey Mike's #56, later chips and onion dip, mexican coke

Very tasty.

Dinner:  Pepperoni bacon pizza, mexican coke, York peppermint patty

Elite pizza.

Going to open a bottle of cava that's been in the fridge for a looong time.  TBD if it's drinkable.

Edit:  It was.  Nice.  Also had some Cheezits.

Exercise:  Nope.   It would have been a huge struggle this morning even if I had been awake given how lousy I felt.
