End Flush

Saturday, March 6, 2021

Ahh, the weekend.  Even though it wasn't a brutal week -- in part because I slacked way too much -- it's still nice to get a day to work on things you want to do.

Got the topper off the bed last night, so back to sleeping on a firmer surface.  Went okay, I feel decent despite getting six hours of what didn't feel like particularly deep sleep.  On the plus side I didn't have to get up at 2 or 3, maybe the massive water flush will slow down some now that a bunch of it is gone.

Reading through the archives some, I definitely think I'm eating more than I did when I was having success.  So reducing portions may need to be part of the plan.  See, e.g., breakfast.

Breakfast:  3 eggs over hard, hash browns, 4 strips bacon, avocado, grapefruit, coffee

Not my finest effort, eggs and potatoes were both overdone.  Still fine though.  I should have looked to see if I had some sour cream handy, that would have spruced them up.  Anyway, way too much food.

Lunch:  Vigo yellow rice with ham, diet Dr Pepper

Cleaned up some diced ham and the last package of yellow rice I had on hand.  Saved a bit for breakfast tomorrow too.  This definitely falls into the category of things that are delicions but which I should not eat.

Dinner:  Sausage and mushroom pizza, 24 oz Miller Lite

Tavern style at home tonight.  Turned out good.  Ate WAY too much.  And I have more for tomorrow!

Exercise:  I walked a few blocks to the health food store and back this afternoon.  Not far, it was about a 20 minute trip, but it was intentional and I'm counting it.  A bit discouraging  that even that short jaunt was something of a strain on the legs (knee in particular) but no major pain.  I think I'm definitely going to need to ease into any walking plan, going a lot shorter than I really want to start.  Once I've lost some weight and maybe improved my diet some more I can stretch it out.
