Ingredient Spread

Sunday, May 5, 2019

Ahhh.  Good weekend so far.  Accomplished nil last night.  Have a bunch of weekly tasks queued up and hopefully some golf this afternoon.  In the meantime, I spread out all kinds of ingredients for a couple of morning cooking projects while waiting for my bacon to cook.  Happy times.

Breakfast:  4 strips Oscar Meyer "thick cut" bacon, coffee

I guess it's thick cut in a sense that it didn't disintegrate when I cooked it, but it's not thick like the Wright stuff.  Still, is bacon.  And I have five slices left for breakfasts!

Lunch:  2 smoked beef and cheddar sausage links, a cup of homemade brisket chili

The chili was this morning's cooking project.  I saved a chunk from the smoked brisket I bought yesterday for one more meal and diced up the rest to put into the chili.  In hindsight I should have just used it all since I dunno when I'm going to eat that chunk - forgot about some things on the calendar this week.

Bonus photos:

No beans or corn in that chili thanks.

Dinner:  Chuck roast with a bit of mashed potato, a couple of carrots, gravy

Pretty good roast.  Trying to be polite by taking a little of other stuff, I could just skip it I guess.

Also:  Chips and onion dip.

Almost made it.  Doh.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, LOTS of extra walking.  Had some cart issues which meant I walked a lot.  Wish I'd had my pedometer.
