The sleep schedule very much needs adjustment. Up too late, making for a serious urge to sleep in and repeated whacking of the snooze button. It's not good.
Breakfast: ~ 2 oz Armour hard salami, coffee (later)
I don't think either of my servings has been 2 oz since I bought 0.38lb and I'm not yet halfway through but whatever.
Lunch: Smoked brisket, spicy texas chili, a bite of a corn cake.
Decided to hit up a not-too-local BBQ place for lunch. Plate comes with one side and I was pleased that the chili was an option - sure it had corn and a few beans but plenty of meat and nice heat. Most places just offer starches. I took a bite of the corn cake for posterity, too sweet for my taste. I didn't use any of the BBQ sauce, figured it would be loaded with sugar and the meat didn't need it. It was not dry at all (like brisket can be), flavorful and nice and fatty. Value wasn't stellar but the more I think about it I'm ok -- $10 for a decent quantity of meat and a cup of chili isn't outrageous.
Dinner: Taco Salad
My take on the infamous (and much missed) taco salad. I haven't conjured up a recipe for spicy pork yet so it's just CF ground beef with homemade taco seasoning. Lettuce, cilantro, onion, a couple T of spicy pinto beans, cheddar jack cheese (since I didn't have any mexican cheese), avocado, salsa and hot sauce.
Verdict: Very tasty. The beans and cilantro and onion (which in the past I wouldn't have bothered with) definitely make a difference. I'll be having this again tomorrow night and I think this weekend I'm going to try making red sauce.
Exercise: Nope. To get going I may have to do evenings. Yikes.
