Just Desserts For A Month

End of the month.  It's been a mild failure as far as eating and exercise go, but nothing incredibly egregious.  Basically I get what I deserve.  And I think my lowest number for this whole journey was on the first of the month, so I didn't have anything easy to let go of in order to get a good number.  

So it goes.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Leftover egg bake, toast

Yup.

Dinner:  Dominos thin pep onio jala, 12 oz Coors Light, Nicks chocolate PB

Yeesh.

Exercise:  Nope.

Butter Respect

Just ate a lot of butter at lunch.  And I'm impressed.  Butter promotes satiety.

Used a different egg casserole recipe this week, this one calls for adding melted butter to the eggs etc before it gets baked.  I can definitely tell that it's richer than my usual recipe.  I was beginning to get full even before eating my poorly-toasted toast.  Which is unusual.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Egg casserole, toast


This egg casserole had more eggs, a little milk, crumbled bacon, onion, jalapenos and a swiss/cheddar blend.  Not exactly as written but close enough.

Dinner:  Chef salad with ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, SF butterscotch pudding w unsweet coconut



Yup.  Didn't even need a snack before golf, excellent satiety from lunch.  The salad was not one of their finer efforts but I still ate the whole thing.

Exercise:  9 holes with cart, minimal walking.

Sigh, another unsuccessful weekend at eating and accomplishing.  Other than getting in quite a bit of golf, that is.  Doesn't really count as an accomplishment tho.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  3 eggs over easy, 3 strips bacon, TCD style mashed potatoes, some mixed nuts


I like breakfast but man it's slow to kick in the satiety signal.  Thus the nuts.

Dinner:  2x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz Coors Light, mixed nuts, SF banana cream pudding w unsweet coconut


Nuts are all gone now.


Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day.

... or something like that.  I ate a bunch of crap last night and predictably was up a bunch this morning.

So it goes.  Summer weekends.  Man.  Lack of will.  Pathetic.

Breakfast:  Lazy 'bagels' with plain whipped cream cheese, 2 strips bacon, coffee

I mixed the "dough" (it's self rising flour plus greek yogurt) in the stand mixer this time and just dumped in chunks on the baking mat.  Worked out fine.  And a heckuva lot less messy.

Lunch:  2x McDouble

Got up a little late and have an early tee time (relatively) so I didn't have time to make my egg casserole.

Dinner:  Steak, sun chips, salad no dressing, garlic toast, 16 oz Mich Ultra, strawberries w vanilla ice cream, Nice cheddar popcorn, Nice vanilla wafer cookies

Yeesh.

Dinner:  CFA spicy, mac and cheese, frosted lemonade.  Later, TB 2x chipotle chix burrito, chips and cheese, cantina chicken taco

Painfully aware at how lax I have become.  Too many snacks.  Too much fake sugar.  There isn't any need for it.

Dinner:  Brat with mustard, a few chips, pickle spear, asparagus w cherry tomatoes and a little cheese, 16 oz Mich Ultra, Cheez It white cheddar popcorn



I ate half the asparagus.  It was goood.  Oh and I had a few mixed nuts before golf.

Nicked Again

This month is flying by.   Almost over already.  I'm somewhat annoyed with myself that I haven't lost any weight this month -- I'm up a couple pounds -- but given that I've applied about zero discipline I guess it's not the end of the world.  Summer just isn't a great time for weight loss, too many delicious things to eat.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Soup and toast


Been a while it seems.  This wasn't my favorite batch of soup  But I did the toast differently (forgot to take out butter so I just melted a whack in the pan and added the bread) and that was delightful.

Dinner:  Lentils, 12 oz Coors Light, Better Made jala cheddar popcorn, Nicks PB chocolate


It was almost 8:00 before I ate something.  I was hungry.  Which kinda explains the impulse buy of the popcorn.

Not Triscuited Too Badly

Well, at least I didn't pay a big price for eating a bunch of effing Triscuits last night.  The rest of the day being relatively OK and the modest exercise of golf was enough.  Thank goodness.  Need to knock that off.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Smoked sausage, a little hot bbq sauce, smoked mushrooms, bread and butter pickles


I had a work obligation where I could take a small detour and hit the BBQ place I first tried last month and once again I'm glad I stopped.  They were sold out of brisket, alas, but I got a lot of sausage instead.  I was expecting one fat link and instead I got three good sized ones!  Plus the obligatory smoked mushrooms.  Yum.  Pretty reasonably priced, too - a lot of food for less than $15.

Dinner:   Leftover egg casserole, 12 oz All Day IPA, mixed nuts, later - Nick's triple chocolate


Shifted the last of the eggs to dinner to accomodate the lunch stop.  No problem at all.

I was rather amused this morning when I confidently predicted what the scale would say and was exactly right.  Including the fraction of a pound.  

Slept much better last night, eating less, earlier and a little better meant less snoring.  I would have liked to have gone to sleep earlier than I did but overall it was OK.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Leftover breakfast casserole, some mixed nuts


I need to give this a fair trial as a lunch/dinner option, I do like how easy it is and how well it reheats.  Minus the nuts, that is.

Dinner:  Chef salad with ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, avo cilantro lime Triscuits, Nick's mint chip


Sigh.  Really wasn't too enamored of the Triscuits.  Enjoyed the Nicks though.

Could have been much worse.  Somehow my scale was understanding this morning and didn't stick me with the expected big gain.  After a delightful night, too -- I ate bad, too much and too late so the snoring was bad, plus I had a cramp attack around 2:00.  Yeesh.  Let's do better this week.

Lunch:  Leftover breakfast casserole


Not much to add.

Dinner:  3x tacos American style, 12 oz All Day IPA, mixed nuts, SF butterscotch pudding w unsweet coconut



Fat tacos tonight, glad I only ordered three.  Good stuff.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day, and probably needed, was feeling a little beat up yesterday after playing three days in a row.

Father's Day

TGI that other S.  Another beautiful weekend day on tap.   It's supposed to heat up starting tomorrow so I intend to enjoy today fully.  And call tomorrow again to see if I can get on the schedule for air conditioner service.

Puffy this morning, weight up a bit.  I really need to buckle down, I've gone from slacking to outright FAIL with the eating lately.  For no good reason.  Today will feature bad eating due to a family party, but tomorrow I have no such excuse.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Lunch:    Sausage egg casserole, "bagel bits" with butter



The bagel bits were a hilarious fail.  I found a recipe for air fryer dunkin' bagel bites.  Supposed to be filled with cream cheese.  Except I never came close to getting the dough to stop being sticky.  So I gave up, put them in pans and baked them more like biscuits.  Turned out just fine but they were not what I had planned on.  Oh, and no cream cheese.

Dinner:   Brat w mustard, hot dog no bun, chips, strawberries, pasta salad, cake and vanilla ice cream, 2 BK double cheese, chx nuggets


Sigh.  Refocusing tomorrow.

Winged a kinda pickle dip, it was fine.

Dinner:  Qdoba chicken bowl, CFA spicy, frosted lemonade


I'm going to have to put the local Qdoba on timeout.  The cleanliness (lack thereof) was unsettling.  Front of the house, back of the house, it was all a disaster.  They did have at least six people working and while it was steady they were not overrun with customers.  I ate my bowl anyway but not without some trepidation.

Thank goodness it's Friday.   And a beautiful day.

Chain pizza in general but Hut in particular wrecks me.  So dehydrated.  Literally drank a half gallon of water and had a bottle of Gatorade Zero in the hours after dinner.  Tons of liquid.  A lot of which was retained.  Between that and about five hours of recliner sleep and this morning was predictably not so good.   Oh well.  It'll take time but I'll drop that liquid.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  Lentils, bread with butter


Should have toasted the bread, it was rather stale.

Dinner:  Onion burger, chips, 16 oz Mich Ultra, 3x TB chipotle chicken burritos, choc SF pudding w unsweet coconut

I was expecting bad things on the scale this morning after eating too many chips last night.  Darned salt craving.  But ... it wasn't bad.  At all.  It's possible that it's just delayed, but for today anyway a price was not paid.  

In general summer is just a pain for staying on track.  Way too much eating out, eating too late, too many social occasions and so much junk food.  There is stuff I can resist but definitely not all of it.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Lunch:  Leftover eggchilada filling, bread w butter


Same as yesterday, now out of the eggs.

Dinner:  Pep ham pizza, Nick's mint chip


Long story to this and it took an extra hour to get it, but it's not worth the effort to tell it.

First real hot day of the summer.  It was toasty out there.  At least the humidity wasn't up quite as high as I would have expected, so it was tolerable.

Didn't bother toasting the bread since I just made it on Sunday.

Dinner:  Chef salad w ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, chips w pickle dip


Craved salt so I bought a bag of chips on the way home and cleaned up the pickle dip.  Hoping I'm sufficiently hydrated and electrolyted and I'll sleep well.  Ate too many chips.

I guess I would say that yesterday was pretty successful.  I ran a lot of errands with good success.  Found a big supply of my favorite hot sauce at a mexican grocery, unsweetened coconut at Blain's, used up a bunch of Walgreens reward dollars and spent nine bucks on a 3 lb box of my preferred salt for cooking.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Brunch:  Mexican egg scramble (eggs, sausage, jack cheese, peppers, onion, enchilada sauce)


Also:  Pretzel chips and pickle dip


Dinner:  Steak, Sun Chips, garlic toast, asparagus, 16 oz Mich Ultra, strawberries and ice cream
