At Some Point There Will Be Photos

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

Holy cow, January is almost over already.  Yikes!

It wasn't the best day, it wasn't the worst.  It was the kind of day that you look back on and say "Oh.  So that's why I'm fat."

Lunch:  Qdoba chicken bowl with chips

Dinner:  Leftover chili mac, a few Lay's potato chips, a few Alexia sweet potato puffs, limeade.  Ice cream for dessert.

Still January Hey

Monday, January 25, 2016

Total Calories:  Hmm.  Guessing about 4,500.

Sluggo

Sunday, January 24, 2016

Slept in very late today.  I have been having bad sinus issues, it was nice to wake up being able to breathe.  Just lazed about until 10:00 or so, then did very little.  Disappointing, as I have a tremendous amount to do but I have just not felt like doing a thing.

Breakfast:  Entemanns frosted donuts and a glass of whole milk.

Lunch:  2 bowls of homemade chili mac.

Snack:  A few chips and onion dip, Meijer guacamole flavored tortilla chips, limeade

Dinner:  Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans with cheddar, roll with butter.  Also ice cream with donuts.

Exercise:  Um no

Total Calories:  Not even going to guess, definitely over 5,000.

Phew.  Survived the week.  Deep breath.

Still thinking about getting some new placements.
The usual and delicious as usual.

Lunch:  Lee's Famous Recipe 2 pc spicy strip meal with ranch, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, biscuit w margarine.

Dinner:  Jack's frozen bacon cheeseburger pizza

$1.99 at Meijer today.  I was lucky to find a couple.

Also:   2 McDoubles, chips and onion dip, glass of whole milk, 4 Entemann's frosted donuts.

Garbageous extremis.

Total Calories:  A lot. Call it 7,000.

Lunch:  Qdboa chicken burrito bowl, chips

No idea why I like this so much.  Oh, maybe because of FREE QUAC
Dinner:  Little Caesars pepperoni pizza and crazy sauce

Just Not Understanding

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

Sigh.  I don't know why my brain doesn't get the message.  The one that says "I've had enough food, thanks, you don't need more".

Not a good day today.  Not energetic at all, not enjoying work, etc etc.

Breakfast:  Taco Bell sausage crunchwrap, coffee.  630 calories.

Lunch:  Qdoba chicken burrito bowl with chips, 1,500 calories.

Dinner:  Domino's Pizza.  ~ 2,500 calories (est)

No Holiday From Bad Eating

Monday, January 18, 2016

Time for another week.  While the federal and state workers are on vacation today, us self-employed grunts soldier on since if we don't work we don't get paid.  And sometimes when we do work we don't get paid.  But I digress.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  0 calories.

Lunch:  Can of Bush's Cocina Latina beans, 2 oz deli turkey, 2 slices of Healthy Life whole wheat bread, 2 slices Land O Lakes American Cheese.  780 calories.

Turkey is mostly hidden, bread and cheese not pictures
Dinner:  4 soft corn tacos mexican style.  1,200 calories (est).

Oh goodness.
These are almost always so good.  And $1.25 each.

Also:  Homemade pepperoni pizza.   Probably at least 1,000 calories.

Plating FAIL
It's been a while since I made one, and this is the first one in a very long time using 100% flour (instead of part parmesan cheese) for the crust.  Honestly I like the cheese blend better.

Exercise:  lol no.

Total Calories:  at least 2,980.  Sigh.

Sunday, January 17, 2016

Flurryin'

Sunday, January 17, 2016

A little light snow going on outside, a whole lot of nothing going on inside.  I should go do some work but to be real honest doing nothing is so enjoyable I probably won't.

This will at least nominally be a 3 meal day.  Breakfast was a little late but not shaded close to lunch like yesterday was.  I'll probably have chips and salsa for lunch, then have a birthday party come dinner time.

Breakfast:  2 CF eggs fried in butter, 4 strips CF garlic pepper bacon, hash browns in butter.  Coffee.    685 calories.

Pure breakfast perfection.  100/100.
Added a few extra calories for going a bit heavier on the butter.  One thing I don't like about Kerrygold is the packaging, it's a challenge to measure out a tablespoon.  Hash browns were a mix, mostly the end of the Meijer plain with a little Alexia to top them off.  Oh, and I picked up a bottle of Valentina Extra Hot, early returns on that are very favorable.

Lunch:  Meijer yellow corn chips, 1 can Herdez salsa kicked up with some hot sauce.  635 calories.

Not pictured.  Tasty, the addition of hot sauce was a plus.

Dinner:  Sous vide chicken, spanish rice, black beans, a little cheese, chips, cake and ice cream.  1,600 calories (est.)

Birthday party meal.  I think I kept it reasonable, ate extra chicken, didn't go too crazy with the carby stuff.  Did have cake and ice cream.

Exercise:  Nope.  Bitterly cold and windy.

Total Calories:  2,920 (est).  A bit much, yeah.

Taking Aaron Rodgers' Advice

Saturday, January 16, 2016

Yup.  Relaxing.  To the max, so far anyway.  Slept in until the body decided it was time to get up.  Bummed around for a while, finally fixed a very late breakfast just before lunchtime.  Makes it very easy to have today be a two meal day!  I was going to go to the grocery store today, but I see that there is a pretty good sale next week, lots of $1 items and I can restock my pantry with a few things so I'm going to wait.

I can predict that it will be a very meat and potatoes kind of day, I want to use up the leftover chuck roast as much as possible...

Brunch:  2 eggs fried in a bit of butter, hash browns in butter, 2.5 oz of leftover chuck roast, a couple of packets of Taco Bell hot sauce.  Also, coffee.  630 calories.

Before it was all stirred up.  Yum.
Pot roast skillet!  Kind of, anyway.  Could have added a little onion maybe and it would have been great with a sour cream jalapeno sauce but it was delicious as is.  The hot sauce really added a nice little flavor boost.

Dinner:  Meijer yellow corn tortilla chips, 8 oz container Meijer guacamole.  1,240 calories.

Good tortilla chips have a lot of calories!

Also:  1 medium navel orange.  80 calories.

Impulse buy since they were 3 for $1, turns out to be a good calorie bargain too!

Exercise:  Nope.  Really need to do better.

Total Calories:  1,950.  Okay then.  Maybe I had more chips than I thought, if so more like 2,300 but I thought I ate half of the 12 oz bag.

Garbage In, Garbage OUT

Friday, January 15, 2016

Awful day for eating.  Have to admit I didn't care very much.

Breakfast:  Taco Bell sausage crunchwrap, coffee, 2 frosted coconut donuts.  1,130 calories (est).

Lunch:  Taco bell crunchwrap slider, chicken burrito, medium lemonade.  1,110 calories, lol.

Dinner:  Little Caesars pepperoni pizza with crazy sauce.  2,005 calories.

Exercise:  Nope.

Total Calories:  4,245 (est).  Yup, it was a bad day.

Thursday, January 14, 2016

One Test Passed, The Rest FAILED

Thursday, January 14, 2015

Yup.  I resisted a donut at work this morning, but I cratered this evening.  Sigh.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  0 calories

Lunch:  Qdoba chicken bowl with chips, 1,500 calories

Added a little jalapeno on top.  Love jalapenos.
Why is it that lunch tastes better after a good workout?

Dinner:  McDonalds 2 cheeseburger meals with Hi C orange drink, 2 apple pies, LOTS of calories.  Like 2,580 calories

Also:  No bake cookies and a glass of whole milk.  At least 1,000 calories.

Exercise:  40 minutes arms and chest.  Went pretty hard, good workout.  Earned that lunch!

Total Calories:  I dunno, 5,000?   WAY over.

Don't Compare Menus On Punishment Of Pain

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Well, that wasn't quite what I expected to eat today.  I was planning on something bean-centric for lunch at home and I threw a chuck roast in the crock pot for dinner.  Whoops.  I guess we'll try again tomorrow.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  0 calories.

Lunch:  2 eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns, raisin toast, coffee.  1,000 calories (est)

I had been a bit disenchanted lately with the diner, this
however was up to snuff.  Yum.
That's the problem with going out, you never know how many calories.  It was obviously more, since there were extra hash browns plus toast and they probably used a lot more butter/oil than I do.  So I think this is a reasonable guess but it is just that, a guess.

Dinner:  Fried lake perch with tartar sauce, french fries with ketchup, texas toast, salad with ranch, 16 oz Miller Lite.  1,500 calories.

Surreptitious salad picture.  Not smooth enough darn it.

Hey look it's a plate full of carbs!
Probably not the most diet-friendly choice, but quite tasty.  Calories are a reasonable estimate, I think.  I did plug everything into MFP and used restaurant numbers whenever possible.

Also:  Pot roast taco.  315 calories.

Gotta have GRAVY on there amirite?

Bonus shot.  Man I need to buy a taco holder!
I had to do something to test out the chuck roast, right?  Okay, not really.  But I did want to try this so I did.  It wasn't bad, will eat again.

Exercise:  Nope.  It's cold out there.

Total Calories:  2,815. Not good but not an epic fail.

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Okay Then

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Feeling quite blah today.  Slow getting in to work, not getting anything accomplished.  Not good.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  0 Calories.

Late start and lunch would be a little early.  Thought about a piece of cheese or something, just skipped it.

Lunch:  Qdoba bowl with tequila lime chicken, chips, water.  1,480 caloires.

Okay that was a LOT of guac.  Maybe I needed to add more calories
to my estimate.  I think I'll see if I can cross reference with the Qdoba site.
Yum.  Yeah, that's a lot of calories.  But I'm okay with it.  Now if I can just skip the chips and dial back the carbs a bit that would be nice.

Dinner:  2 eggs scrambled with a splash of whole milk, frozen green peppers and onions, 5 strips Meijer bacon, Meijer True Goodness hash browns fried in butter.  740 calories.

Breakfast, it's what's for dinner.  Comfort food on a cold night.
They were out of the Alexia hash browns when I went to the store the other day, so I bought the Meijer brand of organic hash browns.  They're just fine, they're just different.  In an effort to get a few more veggies in I added some frozen diced peppers and onions -- looking at the onions, they're a product of China.  Seriously?  A bag of frozen diced onion that maybe cost a buck is cheaper to source from CHINA?  Ugh.

Anyway.  This was fine.  Not as good as my usual preparation though.  Maybe I should have added hot sauce.

Oh And:  1 oz Made Rite potato chips.  160 calories.   Finished off the last few in the bag.

Exercise:  40 minutes legs and core.  Solid workout.

Total calories:  2,380.  Hey, not bad.  I can deal with that.

Monday, January 11, 2016

Maybe ... Butnah ... But Maybe

Monday, January 11, 2016

Starting to feel more positive about actually doing this.  Pretty disgusted by how I eat when I binge.  I may actually try the 2 meal system.  Or possibly just eating something minor at breakfast.  It'll just be a matter of deciding what to eat.

Breakfast:  Coffee.  0 calories.

Oh, I know, there are a couple of calories in coffee.  I'm okay with rounding it down.

Lunch:  Can of Bush's Cocina Latina frijoles charros machacados beans, ~ 4 oz deli turkey, chips and onion dip.  1,020 calories (est.)

Trust me, it tasted a lot better than you would think from the picture!
I'm just guessing on the chips and dip calories.  The beans and turkey were well within the acceptable range.

Dinner:  4 takeout mexican style tacos with hot sauce, lemonade.  Grilled cheese.  2,000 calories (est.)

Not pictured: Grilled cheese and lemonade.
Monday night taco night is so good.

Exercise:  Nope.

Total Calories:  3,020 (est.).  Still quite a bit over.

Assorted Garbage

Sunday, January 10, 2016

Another lazy morning of sleeping in.  Fixed a nice breakfast.  Doing some laundry.  Drinking coffee.  It's all good.  Sure, it would be nice to be less fat, you know, but that isn't taking anything away from a very pleasant day thus far.

Regrettably I stocked up on a few garbage food items so I'll probably be eating those today.  I haven't figure out dinner plans yet, should probably give that a little thought soon.

Breakfast:  2 eggs, 4 strips meijer bacon, Alexia hashbrowns, coffee.  625 calories.

Yeah, I know, this picture looks familiar.  Same menu different day.
I really do need to get some different placemats though.
The standard.  Too bad I broke the SUPERYOLK.  That sucker was impressive.  I'm sure it was a double yolk, it just wasn't identifiable as such.   It came out of the shell as a SUPERYOLK.

Lunch/Also:  Little Debbie mini crunch donuts.  1,000 calories.  Pizza rolls.  Chips and onion dip.  Lemonade.

The donuts might be the single worst calorie bargain I have ever seen.  Not even that many mini donuts in that thousand calories.  Yow.

Dinner:  Culvers Double Bacon Deluxe, onion rings.  A lot of calories.

Exercise:  Nope.  Bitterly cold out there.

Total Calories:  Probably 7,000.  Maybe more.  Awful.

In The General Direction Of On Track

Saturday, January 9, 2016

Slept in big time after a long week and a late night.  Needed it.  Had a headache when I woke up, I certainly suspect that I'm not breathing well when asleep for multiple reasons.  If I get on track and start losing the weight it will get better.  Today, however, will probably only represent modest progress toward getting on track -- I have a birthday party to go to tonight.

Breakfast:  2 eggs in a bit of butter, 4 slices Meijer bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee.  625 calories.

Hide those hash browns!
The standard.  I have this absolutely nailed, so I don't feel much urgency to change it up.  Sure it might be nice to get some veggies in here (and subtract hash browns) but it is so good.  Plus the calorie count is reasonable and I actually feel somewhat sated after eating it.  Maybe I should start doing this for weekday lunches idk.

Lunch:  Qdoba burrito bowl with chicken, chips.  1,200 calories (est)

Not pictured, have posted it before.  Didn't get a ton of guac this time.

It has certainly occurred to me that I really should just eat two meals a day.  It would be a lot easier to stay in the calorie range.  If I had a more flexible schedule I really think I'd be fine eating an early lunch and an early dinner.  Oh, maybe I'd eat a bite or two of something for breakfast with my coffee, but it wouldn't need to be more than a couple hundred calories at most.

Dinner:  Beef tips in mushroom gravy, cashew chicken with mustard sauce, roasted potatoes, green beans, salad with ranch, a dinner roll with butter, small slice of birthday cake with a scoop of ice cream.  Dunno, 1,500 calories?

Birthday party buffet.  I didn't eat out of control but I did try everything.  So good.

Also:  Meijer jalapeno chips.  500 calories (est).

Exercise:  Nope.

Total Calories: 3,825 (est).  Not good.

I Knew It Were Trouble

Friday, January 8, 2016

Starting to feel better at least.

Breakfast:  Taco Bell sausage crunchwrap, coffee.  Glad I stopped, because no lunch.

Late PM:  Slice of pepperoni pizza, peanut M&Ms, lemonade, McDouble, small fries

a/k/a garbage on the run food.

Dinner:  Chicken breast with some kind of sauce, mashed potatoes, salad with ranch, roll with butter, 12 oz Two Hearted Ale, ~8 oz Miller Lite, a sip of champagne

Wedding reception.

Late Night:  McDonalds 2 cheeseburgers, medium fries, 20 oz HiC orange drink

Exercise:  Nope.

Total Calories:  A metric ton.

More More More Fail

Thursday, January 7, 2016

Just fail.  So it goes.

Breakfast:  Leftover egg dish.  500 calories.

Thatsalotta eggdish
I only ate about 2/3 of it.  Just too much.

Lunch:  Lee's Famous Recipe.  2 spicy strips with Ranch, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, biscuit.

carb count ~ 8,000
Haven't been there in a while.   It was too convenient and I had so little time.  Lame excuses, tasty lunch.

Dinner:  Qdoba bowl with chips.

Light on the cheese but a ton of guac, so many calories were consumed.
Dependably delicious.  Not good for me though.

Also:  Saltines (which are now gone) and lemonade (ditto).

Exercise:  45 minutes core and arms

Total Calories:  A lot.

Minor Upside

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Feeling slightly better today.  Not close to 100% but not horrendous.  Also not energetic or enthusiastic.

Breakfast:  Leftover egg dish.  Not pictures, mid-morning McDonald's coffee.  610 calories.

Didn't set up coffee, barely had the initiative to reheat egg dish.

Better the second time.  Not a bad breakfast at all.

Lunch:  Leftover chicken noodle vegetable soup, turkey and cheese sandwich, saltines, 12 oz Simply Lemonade.  1,120 calories.  Stupid saltines.

Saltines not pictures.  Stupid saltines.
Almost out of saltines, will not rebuy.  Stupid empty carbs.

Dinner:  Little Caesars pepperoni pizza, crazy sauce, lemonade.  2,645 calories

Another epic fail.

Exercise:  Nope.

Total Calories: 4,375.  Only about twice what I'm supposed to eat.  Yeesh.

Hating Sickness

Tuesday, January 5, 2016

Sinus problems today, big time.  Destroying my productivity and my will to do the right thing.  Feeling awful.  Actually the morning wasn't bad, but by the end of the day blechhh.

Breakfast:  Taco Bell california cruchwrap, coffee.  630 calories.

Lunch:  Qdoboa bowl (both kinds of rice, pinto beans, tequila lime chicken, pico, hot salsa, queso, sour cream, guac).  700 calories.

Love some Qdoba
Calorie total is for standard servings per Qdoba website, seems likely to me.  I didn't get huge quantities of any item like you sometimes do.

Dinner:  Dominoes pizza, thin crust with pepperoni, ham, onions.  Saltines.  Almond cookies.  3,700 calories (est)

No photo, though I could take one of the aftermath... A massive blowout.  I eat badly when I feel badly.

Exercise:  45 minutes arm and shoulder.  Went hard.

Total calories:  5,030.  Epic fail.

Reality Returns, May Bite

Monday, January 4, 2016

Back to work.  Here we go.

Breakfast:  Sausage strata casserole (egg, whole milk, cheddar cheese, sausage, onion roll, dry mustard), coffee.  610 calories.

We call this EGG DISH
Always delicious.  In this case also a bit undercooked.  I was happy to have it waiting in the fridge to pull out, rest and pop into the oven this morning.

Lunch:  Cheese sandwich (2 slices sharp cheddar on onion roll with mustard), leftover chicken noodle vegetable soup with extra chicken.  750 calories.

We have achieved BOWL MAXIMUM
Threw another chunk of cooked chicken breast in there for extra protein (and to use it up!).  Not bad.  Hot soup on a cold day is always a good idea.  Oh, and I had a Benadryl.  Stupid sinuses.

Dinner:  4 takeout mexican style tacos plus cheese (cilantro, onion, beef), hot sauce.  est 1200 calories.

So delicious, so needed, so not the plan.
My head feels like it weights 100 pounds.  Some serious hot sauce briefly cleared it.  Alas, it didn't last.   But man were these good.  3 probably would have been sufficient even.

Also:  Some triscuits and bar cheeze (gone now), a sleeve of saltines, caramel corn.  est 1500 calories, but that's just a guess.  Feeling like crap, eating the crap.  Definitely going to be less of it on hand now!

Exercise:  Nope.  Had plans, got sick.

Total Calories:  4,160 est.  If I had stopped at tacos it would have been okay.

I Pay $5 Per Dozen For Eggs

Sunday, January 3, 2016

That's right.  Okay, it's actually $4.89 or even as low as $3.75 if I actually go to the farm, but I do it.  And I don't mind.  I can use high quality local ingredients and it's still less expensive than eating out like I do.  Now if I can just bring myself to pay the premium for chicken.

Anyway, it's looking like a lazy Sunday before things slam back into high gear tomorrow.  Life is good.

Breakfast:  2 eggs fried in a bit of butter, 4 slices Hormel jalapeno bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee.  640 calories.

Going for a different presentation.  Back to the big bowl next time I think.
Calorie count is a shade different because I overpoured the hash browns.  Should have measured them.  Oops.  I did measure the butter.  I need to get some new batteries for my kitchen scale so I can start being more precise, too.

Lunch:  Turkey and Cheese sandwich (Onion roll, butter, mustard, deli turkey, 1 slice sharp cheddar), a bowl of chicken noodle soup with vegetables.  675 calories.

Continuing with the theme of same or similar food,
different visualization
Yum.  The addition of chicken, even if it was just leftover chicken breast, certainly didn't hurt.  I also simmered it a bit longer, I could probably go longer yet.  I have at least 2 hearty bowls left too.

Dinner:  Beef roast, gravy, Betty Crocker 4 cheese mashed potatoes, carrots, 2 snowflake rolls with a little butter, 12 oz Miller Lite.  1,200 calories

Thatsa lotta calories
The calorie count should be in the ball park anyway.  I obviously didn't weigh or measure anything.  Oh, and I'll probably have leftovers tomorrow.

Exercise:  Nope.  Some might call it a day of rest, I call it being a lazy bum.  Need to start a streak.

Total Calories:  2,515.  Over but not by much.  If I had exercised, it would have been an okay day.

Full Of Weekend

Saturday, January 2, 2016

It's going to take a few days to get used to writing 2016.  I'm sure that happens every year to everyone, but that's definitely the case for me this morning.  Anyway, I am super glad to still have a full weekend ahead after the holiday.  Lots to do but also time to relax and recharge.

Breakfast:  2 eggs fried in a bit of butter, 5 strips Hormel jalapeno bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee.  630 calories.

Variety is not exactly my middle name.  Then again, when it's good why change?
A repeat of yesterday, just with an odd slice of bacon.  I was trying to eyeball how much I had left, we'll find out tomorrow if I succeeded.  Plus, it's bacon.  Still quite good though with lots of seasoning it's an odd match with coffee.  I'll be having some water to clear the palate before having a fresh cup.

Lunch:  Turkey sandwich (Onion roll, butter, mustard, golden legacy turkey, slice cracker barrel sharp white cheddar), leftover vegetable noodle soup.  610 calories.

Yeah, I really need to work on my plating.  What can I say, I was hungry.
Soup was just as good the second day.  I added chicken to my grocery list so that I can make it again but with meat.  We'll see how well it sticks, I'm planning on a snack later.

Snack:  6 original Triscuits.  120 calories.

Not photographed.   Holiday leftovers.  For the calorie hit I could have had a sleeve of kettle corn.  Or maybe a couple pepperonis or something.  Went Triscuits.

Dinner:  Chicken soft tacos (4 Mission white corn tortillas, sous vide chicken seasoned with creole seasoning, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, hot sauce and salsa verde).  750 calories

It's a big bowl of stuff.
This was okay, not great.  I might need to try searing the chicken to get the temperature up - I just like it to be hot.  The texture is great though, nice and juicy.  The other stuff was fine, just basics.  Anyway, it was plenty of food and I went from hungry to quite satiated.  I had planned to have avocado as well, but my avocado was too ripe.  Bummer.

Exercise:  And now for something different ... an evening walk!  1.9 miles, 44 minutes.  Stupid icy sidewalks.  I had a reason to go out and decided to walk it, pretty happy with that decision it was nice enough if a bit windy.  I talked myself out of going this morning and I only managed a third of a mile when I went and did a lap around the grocery store.  Too busy.

Total Calories:  2,110.  Right in the sweet spot between 2,000 and 2,400 (what can I say, I'm fat).  I wasn't too hungry, though it did seem like a long time between meals.  I assume that was more a factor of not having much to do, er, not doing much of anything than it was of being hungry.

Happy Neu Year!

Day Zero

I haven't gone outside yet but I can already tell that it's a beautiful day.  At least it has been kicked off in fabulous fashion.  I went to bed at 9:00 last night.  Yep.   Super, super lame.  But I ended up having the best night of sleep in recent memory and I felt *good* when I woke up this morning!  That's rare.  And exciting.  I haven't had to rush into anything.  Fixed a delicious breakfast.  Now about to kick back with one more cup of coffee before deciding what I want to do.  Holidays, you gotta love 'em.

Breakfast:  2 CF eggs fried in butter, 4 strips Hormel thick cut jalapeno bacon, Alexia hash browns in butter, coffee.  587 calories according to MyFitnessPal.

Kicked up a notch!
I actually paid attention to how much butter I used and kept it to 1T total for the hash browns and eggs.  Somehow I managed to buy out of date bacon -- hard to believe -- but it was still fine.  I'll probably eat it up over the next two days and it was vacuum sealed so I'm not exactly concerned.  Just annoying.  First time for that flavor, it was quite good.  Flavored bacon in general is kind of a waste, since so much of the flavoring cooks off in the pan, but this kept a little kick.

Lunch:  2 grilled cheese sandwiches (white bread, american cheese, butter), homemade vegetable noodle soup (chicken stock, carrot, celery, onion, egg noodles, spices).  950 calories.

Probably the first time I have ever added egg noodles to a soup.
Goodbye grilled cheese, you were delicious.  That was the last of the holiday white bread and american cheese.  I did measure the butter to keep it in check, the sandwich didn't suffer.  The soup was good and very easy, would make again and probably throw in some chicken or something.

Snack:  2 oz cheddar cheese popcorn.  280 calories.

Popcorn, with powdered cheese
Who says the holiday season is over?  I received a gift of six of these 1 oz variety popcorns.  2 of them were (and I mean were) cheddar cheese.

Dinner:  Omaha Steaks filet, twice baked potato, salad with ranch, 2 Pillsbury crescent rolls, 12 oz Miller Lite.  1,080 calories.

A casual snap on the fly
Pretty tasty.  First time I recall eating an Omaha Steak.  I don't think I'd pay the premium on a regular basis - the local grass fed stuff is delicious - but it was quite good.

Exercise:  1 mile walk, 23 minutes.  Took a nice leisurely walk after breakfast.  Slow pace due to icy sidewalks, I got a little bit of a bonus workout finding safe spots to walk.  Downloaded a new GPS activity tracker app for my phone, seems to work.   It was kind of neat to hear it announce "1 mile" just as I was returning home.  Also walked around Walmart for a while but not counting that.

Day Total:  2,897 calories.  That's 700 or so too many.  Easy to see where they could have been shaved.  I'll try to do better tomorrow.
