Hit By Shrinkflation

Nobody except corporate finance people like shrinkflation.  I much prefer if they just raise the darned price.  I looked at the cheese package this morning, sure enough, it was down to 6.67 oz from 7 oz (and probably at some point in the not-too-distant past, 8 oz).  I don't want to have to do math to figure out how much I had.

Scale up fractionally, which considering what I ate is a win.

Limping along.

Breakfast:  3 slices Sargento smokehouse cheddar, coffee, pretzel bagel w veggie cream cheese

3 times (6.67/11) ounces.  I thought I grabbed 2 slices but it was 3.  Had the bagel later.

Lunch:  Pep/meat lovers slices, coke

Audible, was going to get a burger but tooooo busy.  Eat at home dummy.

Dinner:  Qdoba brisket bowl, chips and queso, coke

Really fat bowl, skimpy bag of chips.  Will have a glass of chocolate milk too.

I have to say, I felt lean this morning.  Not skinny, just lean.  Or leaner might be a better description.  I am after all still rotund.  Anyway, the scale confirmed.  

Not much else to report.  Worked late, will do so again tonight.

Birthday at work meant donuts, this one was actually quite good. 

Lunch:  Culvers bacon deluxe, fries w ketchup, coke

Not ideal.

Dinner:  Pizza Hut thin pep ham beef, breadsticks, pepsi

Even less ideal.  Probably will have a chocolate milk too.

Exercise:  Nope.  Thought I did walk a few blocks for work.

And a glass of chocolate milk later.  Sigh.

Exercise:  Nope.  Limping pretty badly after this weekend.  Not a surprise, but annoying none the less.

Almost to the end of the month.  It's gone by fast.  And given how much I have to do, that sped-up timeline is going to continue.  I am hopeful that someday when I have fixed things and have a solid record of being on track that I will be less sluggish in the mornings.  I've been starting so slowly, it's pathetic.

Scale was down this morning, which was nice.  In this case it was about the exercise.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w chive and onion cream cheese, coffee

 


Again.  As usual very tasty but zero satiety.

Lunch:  None

Ran out of time before golf, had planned to grab a cheeseburger.

Dinner:  Grilled sirloin, mashed potatoes, salad no dressing, 12 oz Miller Lite

 


Good stuff.

Also TB surpreme box with pepsi, a few marshmallow pinwheels, caramel peanut clusters. 

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  I am suitably tired.

Slept in this morning, that was nice.  Very late start to the golf due to frost, it has apparently decided to be real fall now.  I have mixed feelings about that.

Fractionally down on the scale, that was nice.  Still need to get on track. 

Anyway, I have a lot to do and zero interest in doing any of it.  

Breakfast:  Wendy's bacon burrito, sausage and cheese english muffin

Audible after seeing a mega-line at McDonalds.  It was ... meh.

Lunch:  12 oz Miller Lite

Post golf. 

Dinner:  Mushroom swiss burger, fries w ketchup and special sauce

Excessive.  Also a few marshmallow pinwheel cookies.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  Actually felt reasonably decent.

TGIF.

Scale was unexpectedly kind, up only fractionally.  Given how I felt this morning - and all night, really - I expected to be up five pounds.  Ugh.  It is way past time to grow up and stop the wild overeating.

Breakfast:  Pretzel bagel with veggie cream cheese, coffee

Tasty.

Lunch:  Double cheeseburgers, fries

Local place.  Also tasty.

Dinner:  Chili cheese dogs, fries, coke

Yeah.

Fourthmeal, CFA strips, brownie, Jacksons salt and vinegar avo oil chips

Exercise:  Nope.  While rest has definitely improved the legs, they're not going to hold up.  This weekend may be rough.

The bagel things were a riff on lazy bagels but with cheese and not much lift.  Tasty.

Exercise:  Nope.   Not going to lie, the layoff has been good for my legs.  But I'll get back to it some this weekend.

I need to get serious about getting back on track.

Made mashed potatoes last night.  Hoping to make soup this evening.  Beans this weekend.  If I do that I should have a freezer full of most of my non-breakfast rotation meals.  Then I just need to get back in the habit of eating from the freezer.

Which shouldn't be that hard, but right now we're in a phase where everything sounds good.

Had to fight off temptation to get something more.

Lunch:  CFA spicy plus pepper jack, fries, coke, strips

Plenty.  Snacked a few chips too.

Recovery Mode

In full recovery mode, have done nothing so far today as of mid-morning.  Crashed immediately last night, slept six hours, woke up a bit chilled, couldn't get back to sleep but spent hours trying.  Do feel reasonably rested and once I got moving the body parts are functional but the legs, knees and feet are very beat up.  I probably won't attempt anything too ambitious today though I sure have a lot to do.

Was not at all surprised that the scale was down this morning.   There will be eating today.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w cream cheese, coffee

 


Used up the cream cheese, so these can rotate back off the menu for the long term.  As usual tasty but zero satiety.  I always want to keep eating when finished.

Lunch:  Chili cheese dogs, fries, coke

 


Also some Triscuits and bar cheez as a snack. Too many.

Dinner:   American goulash, salad, garlic bread, 12 oz Miller Lite

 


Didn't eat that much and it was still way too much.  Might have a brownie and a bit of vanilla ice cream later.

Exercise:  Nope.  Much needed rest day.

Whew, long day.  But a fun one.  Went to a football game, which involved six hours in the car, lots of walking and four plus hours in the sun.

Got home and crashed immediately.

Breakfast:  McD egg mcmuffin, burrito, hash browns, coffee

Went with a McMeal since it was an early departure.

Lunch:  None

Had a bottle of water at the game.

Dinner:  Bistro burger, fries w ketchup, salad w balsamic, 16 oz Two Hearted

 



Decent.

Exercise:  A great deal of walking, mostly.  I am amazed that the phone shows under 10k steps, it sure seemed like more than that.

I never seem to learn my lesson.  Chain pizza is the worst.  Flour, tons of seed oil, salt.  It may taste good for a moment but the feeling is always one of regret.  Bloated, uncomfortable, blah.  Always too much so the body has to work overtime overnight to process it.  So much regret.

It was a complete shock when the scale was down this morning.   So inflamed.  

Breakfast:  1 oz sharp cheddar, coffee

 


Again.

Lunch:  Breakfast burrito - 3 eggs, 3 strips bacon, cheddar cheese, bolana sauce

 


My wrapping was on point today.  Went with 1 less egg and no avo.  

Dinner:  Double cheeseburger, fries w ketchup and sauce

 Very excessive dinner from local 5 Guys type place.  Pretty tasty.

Exercise:  Nope, though I did walk a few blocks for work which was fine.  I did skip the stairs.  ETA:  Did the stairs at home better than I have in weeks.  A bit of optimism there!

Despite The Triad

Well, despite dubious eating, it was a good scale morning.  I think getting 8+ hours of sleep helped with that, as well as things not being completely out of control.  I did, however, have the full triad of starch - potatoes (chips), flour (tortilla) and corn (tortillas) so it's not as if I was good.

But whatever, we're results based around here and I'm happy about it.

Breakfast:  1 oz sharp cheddar, coffee

 


Again.  And again does the job.

Lunch:  Breakfast burrito -- 4 eggs scrambled, 3 slices thick cut bacon, cheddar cheese, avocado, bolana sauce

 


My wrapping skills are not elite.  Tasty tho.

Dinner:  Dominos ht pep ham beef bacon onion, parm bites

Ugh. 

Exercise:  Nope.  I do feel like my leg and knee are improving slightly.  It may be some time off after golf season will allow for healing.

Good to be flat on the scale, I expected to be up a fair amount.  Now I just need to get back on track.  Today should be a step in the right direction.

Back to the fancy cheese.

Lunch:  Breakfast burrito - tallow tortilla, 4 eggs scrambled, 4 sausage links, cheddar cheese, Siete botana sauce.  A few remaining chips

 

 

Tasty.  Excellent satiety too.

Dinner:  3 mexican style tacos w avocado, 12 oz Yuengling

 


I have lots of beer in the fridge, I should drink it.

Well it wasn't the prettiest night of sleep, but it got the job done.  Had to get up a couple times to get rid of water for whatever reason, it wasn't like I ate clean yesterday.  I definitely feel better today.

Now if I could just fix the leg issues that would be swell.  I'm not moving too badly this morning but I always have to be conscious.  And it's weird seeing the right foot and lower ankle swollen while above it is not at all.  Hopefully getting back on track will do what needs to be done.  Off to the store shortly to get some soup ingredients.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w chive and onion cream cheese, coffee

 


Very tasty but zero satiety.

Lunch:  Chili cheese dogs, fries, coke, caramel peanut clusters

Not exactly health food.  Back on track tomorrow.

Yeah, I was way, way off today.  Ate too much last night, stayed up late due to that and kinda paying attention to the baseball game and oof.  Dozed for maybe two hours, was up for a couple, then maybe got a couple more before I had to get up.

Also made for a waste of an evening, I napped when I got home, didn't do much and went to bed early.  Good to get the rest but yikes.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns, raisin toast w jam, coffee

Ate lunch about 3:00.  A couple golf bevs.  No beer today.

The human body continues to baffle.  Woke up today with a very swollen right foot.  I have lots of leg issues, but they're with the left leg.  Not the right.  What fresh hell is this.  I do not know.

At least it hasn't been a significant issue.  I'll have to check tonight.

Back To Beginning

I could not be bothered to confirm but I noted this morning that my weight, I think, matched what it was at the beginning of a recent month.  I'm not sure if it was September or August and I'm too lazy to look, but the point was, back to square one.  Which is sad.  But at least I have a fair amount of confidence that the pounds I've piled on this week are mostly water and they'll vanish just as soon as I have a couple good days.   Which start right now.  Not ideal timing, since I have a metric ton of work to do and very little spare pep, but it must happen.

Breakfast:  1.5 oz sharp cheddar, coffee

 


Standard.

Lunch:  3 eggs over medium, Alexia hash browns in butter, 4 Smithfield sausage links

An annoying downside to all this eating:  I get hungry.  When on track and adapted, I don't.  Today was a hunger day.  Also:  Sad that I ate the last of my Alexia hash browns.

Dinner:  Pizza Hut thin pep ham beef, breadsticks w sauce

Sigh.  I was just not ready for this week and the work is kicking my ass.  Hoping for a weekend reboot.

I was quite surprised by how accurately I guessed my weight this morning.  Was only off by 0.2 pound.

Which of course was not a good thing, since I guessed a decent increase.  Not at all unexpected, I ate way too much and especially had too much sugar on vacation.  My choice, I'll deal with the consequences.  Back on plan tomorrow.
