Lunch:  12 oz Miller Lite after golf

Dinner:  Jet's pizza, detroit style w ham gr beef mush, jet's bread with sauce, 12 oz Miller Lite, great lakes chips, lime Halo Top bar

My system wasn't too crazy about the pizza.  But it's handled.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, about 11k steps

Sleeping Through For Once

Friday, July 30, 2021

TGIF as ususal.  Last night was notable as I think I slept through the whole six and half hours between going to sleep and my alarm going off.  At least I do not recall waking and I certainly did not get up for any reason.  No cramps, no fluid release, nothing.  It was glorious.

Yesterday's eating wasn't great (add the rest of my S&P pork skins and add a Halo Top lime bar to Wednesday) but not horrible.  Still, the scale is not my friend this week.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.  Wondered if there would be donuts.  There were not.  Which is good, I guess.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Also very standard.  And tasty as usual.

Dinner:  1/2 smash burger, a few fries, 16 oz Mich Ultra, 2 McD double cheesburgers, Great Lakes chips

Ate way too late, it was almost 9:30 and the half burger and a few fries didn't do the job.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart

Start To Be Impossible

Thursday, July 29, 2021

Nothing interesting.  Just another day.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Jimmy Johns east coast italian, minus mayo add mustard and pickles.  Dill pickle.

So short on time.

Dinner:  Brisket w/ spicy bbq sauce, texas chili, corn cake, lime Halo top bar

Tasty.

Exercise:  Nope.

1x Cramp, Not Of Style

Wednesday, July 28, 2021

Okay, that's weird.  Three times now I've woken up at 2:30 with a cramp.  Doesn't matter when I went to sleep.  At least two of the three have been quite mild.  Just annoying.

Otherwise nothing much today.  It's hot and humid and I'm a little beat up so I'll be taking it easy tonight.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Home tacos, salt and pepper pork skins

Ate at 2:30, had some skins to bulk it up, was a little hungry.

Dinner:  2 eggs, hash browns, 2 sausage patties, 3 slices Arnies cinnamon raisin toast w butter, Meijer spicy vegetable juice, 12 oz All Day IPA

Definitely excessive, I ate the raisin toast last and didn't really need it.  Good though.  I have a few slices left for tomorrow, need to finish it off as the loaf is past date.

Exercise:  Nope.  Off day.  Needed one and it doesn't hurt that it's oppressive out there.  Big storms coming tonight.

Less Lettuce FTW

Tuesday, July 27, 2021

Wow, the month is almost over.  Summer is going by FAST.

So far so good with the mattress topper back on, has felt like I have slept through a little better the last two nights.  Got up once Sunday night in some pain, no issues last night which was a bit of a surprise since lots of late day exercise might correlate some with overnight leg issues.  We'll see.

Scale was kind, it liked the activity last evening and wasn't too upset about the late dinner.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Standard.  Plus a little tub of guac today.

Snack:  Mac's salt and pepper pork skins

Dinner:  Chef salad with ranch, 12 oz Coors Light, Great Lakes chips, lime Halo Top bar

Asked for less lettuce, got less lettuce.  Excellent.

Exercise:  9 holes with cart, some walking.  About 6k steps.

Earning It

Monday, July 26, 2021

Busy day.  Early start, actually got in before business hours.  Didn't stay quite as late as usual in order to get in some golf.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Brisket, Texas chili, corn cake

Crummy photo, had three fat slices of brisket.  Had maybe a tsp of bbq sauce, was too worried about getting it on my white shirt to eat much of it.  All good.  Didn't eat until 2:00, which was good, because....

Dinner:  2 ham and cheese LC wraps, small bag of Great Lakes chips, 12 oz Miller Lite

Dinner was after 10:00.  Yikes.  Wasn't super hungry but I earned those calories.

Exercise:  9 holes, walking.  Three solid hours.  Really.  Over 11k steps.

Random Internet Stuff

Sunday, July 25, 2021

Relaxing Sunday morning so far.  Off to a slow start, laundry is tied up so I haven't been able to get that started.  Oh well, golf isn't until late afternoon so I'll have time.

Put the topper back on the bed, we'll see how it goes tonight.  Feeling a little beat up lately and like I'm not sleeping soundly enough so it's worth a try.

Breakfast:  6 strips Meijer bacon, 3 slices Arnies cinnamon raisin bread toasted with butter, coffee

Bigger breakfast than usual, will probably keep lunch relatively light.  I still have a few slices of the raisin bread left, with the expiration date coming up I might have to have breakfast for dinner tomorrow or something.  Went quite light on the butter, everything was delicious.

Lunch:  BBQ smoked meatloaf, mashed potatoes w mushroom gravy, dinner roll w butter

Tried a new BBQ place, it was quite tasty.  It was 3:00 by the time I ate.

Dinner:  BBQ sandwich, fries w ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, a blueberry Body Armor Lyte

And 9:00 for dinner.  Not ideal.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart

The Most Enormousest

Saturday, July 24, 2021

TGIS.  Needed a weekend bad.  Got one.  It's been a good day - long one with travel for golf but good none the less.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, 3 strips bacon, raisin toast w homemade strawberry jam, coffee

Standard pre-golf breakfast out.  Notably good today.

Lunch:  A few mixed nuts, 12 oz Miller Lite.  Also had two Gatorade Zeros which have a few calories.

Dinner:  Taco salad w al pastor and extra avocado.  Will have a grape Odd Side hard seltzer later and a Halo Top lime bar

Yuge!  I managed about 3/4 of the salad, it's the biggest one I've ever gotten I think from the taquiera down the street.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  Looks like 12k steps.

Saunalike Conditions

Friday, July 23, 2021

TGIF and I am especially thankful for air conditioning today.  I have no idea what the dew point is but it has to be close to 80, it's suffocatingly humid out there.  And of course I'm knocking off early to play golf in it.  Smart.  Real smart.  At least I'll have plenty of water and I'll bring every ice cube I can cram into my travel mug.  I may sweat off ten pounds or I may retain ten pounds of water - the scale tomorrow morning will be interesting.  It was not impressed this morning, that's for certain.

Cleared a major work thing off my to do list this morning, so it was a very successful day even if it wasn't.  If you know what I mean.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Just one cup, too busy to have a second.

Lunch:  Home tacos.

The usual, though I used some Valentina instead of homemade hot sauce.  Have decided that I like double shelled better, when singled up there is a risk of soak-thru.

Dinner:  BBQ sandwich, fries w ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, Body Armor Lyte, lime Halo Top bar

And about four bottles of water.  Maybe more.  It's humid.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, walked as much as I dared which wasn't that much.  Forgot the pedometer but pretty sure I was close to the usual 10k steps.

Delayed Inflation

Thursday, July 22, 2021

I know that weighing daily is dumb but I do it anyway.  Can't say that I enjoy days like today where I was up a full pound for no obvious reason.  But whatever.  It's a long time horizon for me to lose enough, a little short term variance isn't a major concern.  Just an annoyance.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Haven't been hungry at all lately on weekday mornings, I seem to be just fine with coffee only and it produces the nice effect of an effective 16 hour ish fast - keeping that eating between noon and 8pm.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Pretty standard stuff, much like yesterday just with less quac.

Dinner:  2 eggs, 4 strips Meijer bacon, 3 slices Arnie's cinnamon raisin bread toasted w butter, 24 oz All Day IPA, Great Lakes salt, pepper and onion chips

Waited too long to eat, ended up eating too much stuff as satiety never really kicked in.  Stress a major factor too I would imagine.

Exercise:  Nope.  Despite two trips to the cleanout house I wasn't super active.

So Much Work So Little Everything Else

 Wednesday, July 21, 2021

Man I have a lot to do.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Busy enough that I only had one cup instead of two.

Lunch:  Home tacos, a few BC chips left over from yesterday

Added some past expiration (but unopened so fine) guac and skipped the homemade hot sauce.  Also decided to experiment with 4 single tortillas instead of 3 doubles, seemed to work fine.  A bit less beef to since I divided this batch into 8 portions instead of 7.

Dinner:  Qdoba brisket bowl, 24 oz Miller Lite, Halo Top lime bar

My burrito artist was very very tightfisted.  Hardly any beans, brisket, queso or peppers.  So I added cheese and sour cream to try and bulk it up a bit.  Sheesh.

Exercise:  A little house emptying meant some movement though far less than I expected.  Too much standing around, but enough activity to count.

Schedule Reevaluation

Tuesday, July 20, 2021

In process of re-evaluating my schedule.  I've been hoping that I could return to what I was doing in late 2012 and early 2013 -- getting up at 5:00, walking for an hour and then having time to get to the office early.  Ideally I would push that hard and get to work by 6:30.

It's just not happening.

Instead, mornings are a perpetual struggle.   I don't get to sleep early enough.  I'm dozy.  I just don't feel good enough to force myself out the door, assuming I make it as far as waking up.  It has just been a mess.  While my snore score has been really good of late I'm waking up too often -- I think I'm struggling with the firmness of the mattress given my various muscle, joint and bone issues.  Going to throw the topper back on it and see if I can live with the heat.

Instead I think I'm going to need to push harder in the evenings.  Work for a while after dinner.  Not plan on going to bed early ... unless I have finished what I need to do.  We'll see how fitting exercise into that plan works, but I need to do something to clear the work backlog.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Standard.

Lunch:  Roast beef and extra cheddar on Ole Foods Xtreme Wellness tomato basil tortillas

Not bad.  The torts are only 4g net carb each, they're mostly fiber.  Threw extra cheese on there to try and bump up the protein and fat a bit, there was only so much roast beef.

Dinner:  Chef salad with ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, way too many Boulder Canyon cheddar sour cream avo oil chips

Way too much lettuce, didn't eat anywhere close to all of it.

Exercise:  9 holes with card, somehow cleared 5k steps.

Only Taco Once

Monday, July 19, 2021

Welp, didn't pay a huge price for last night's blowup.  And what an annoying one it was.  It was late so it should not have been hard to just go home.  And the burgers were awful, two of the worst McD has ever served me.  Still ate them.  What a scrub.

Not going to repeat last week's two taco trial, I bought some roast beef so I had sandwiches for lunch.  Going to enjoy Taco Monday this evening, I hope they are as good as the ones I got last time.

Didn't feel as lean or energetic yesterday afternoon for whatever reason.  Like I said, maybe it wasn't enough protein at lunch.  Drank a ton of water too not all of which was disposed of.  Dunno.  Certainly no reason to worry about any of it.  Tired today, needed more sleep than I got.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Usual.

Lunch:  Roast beef, sharp cheddar and yellow mustard on two La Tortilla Factory low carb flour tortillas

Just fine.  Pretty terrible photo though.

Dinner:  4 tacos, mexican style with hot sauce.  24 oz Miller Lite.  Will have a lime Halo Top bar later

A hair below last weeks but still very satisfactory.  It's just too convenient living near a good tacquiera.  Debated on the 2nd beer but thirst won out.

Exercise:  Nope.  Fatigued today, a day off was definitely in order.  Legs not super happy with me today, they'd like me to lose a bunch more weight.

Accelaration of Time

 Sunday, July 18, 2021

This month is really zipping by.  Which is both good and not good, mostly the latter since I have boatloads of work to do and you always hate to see the clock wind down on summer.  At least we should have 2 1/2 months of good weather before we get into the dodgy season.

I sat across from a reflective window for quite a while on Friday and decided that progress is noticeable.  I definitely look better.  Still very, very, very fat but not as puffy.  I pulled out and stacked up all my largest size pants yesterday and am busy getting the next couple sizes organized.  Turns out that I had a lot of pants that are now too big!

Breakfast:  8 strips Meijer regular bacon, coffee

Man that was great bacon, cooked perfectly.  I might have to stop buying the thick cut.

Lunch:  2 eggs scrambled w diced ham, jalapenos and a sprinkle of cojack cheese.  2 slices Arnie cinnamon raisin bread toasted w butter

Decided to spend my lunch carbs on raisin bread.  I had planned to get a different kind, that artisan maker supposedly had half loaves, but it looks like they were sold out.   So I have a whole loaf.  Guess I'll be eating a lot of breakfast for supper this week.  Oh, and ... I don't own a toaster.

Dinner:  BBQ sandwich, fries w ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, 2x McD double cheeseburgers

FAIL.  I think I needed more protein at lunch and to not have eaten the fries.  Maybe that would have let me hold it together.  As usual did not eat the chips and saved them for a future day.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, not that much walking.  9k steps plus the first two holes where I forgot to get out the pedometer.

Low Score Wins

 Saturday, July 17, 2021

No love from the scale this morning but I was pleased to see pretty much the lowest snore score I've ever managed.  No loud snoring at all and almost none whatsoever.  It was great to see it.

Should be a typical busy weekend, though I did get back earlier than usual from golf today.  That was nice.  We're off to a good start.

Breakfast:  Meat lover's omelet, 2 slices raisin toast, coffee

Different pre-golf breakfast place today.  The omelet was huge, I could not finish it.  Well, I could have, but that would have been unpleasant so I only ate 3/4.

Lunch:  12 oz Miller Lite after golf

Dinner:  Qdoba brisket bowl, 2x Odd Side moscow mule flavor hard seltzer

Standard bowl.  More than 10 hours between meals and I wasn't crazy hungry.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  Also did a lap around Walmart.  Managed over 13k steps

Respect The End of Week

Friday, July 16, 2021

Whew.  Made it to the finish line for the week.  Just need to prepare dinner and I'm going to take it easy tonight.  Just out of gas.

Another night of not being sleepy and crashing way too late.  Hard to fix the sleep schedule.  I did feel OK this morning and got up without too much difficulty, but still didn't get enough sleep and it was later than I want to get up.

Breakfast:   Coffee

Not notably hungry.  Getting used to no breakfast.

Lunch:  Corned beef hash*, 2 eggs over medium, raisin toast

Went out for lunch for reasons that don't merit mentioning.  Ordered this and alas, the potatoes were way undercooked.  So I couldn't eat them.  I picked out the corned beef and most of the egg and ate those, along with the toast -- everything else was perfect.  At least I got comped for the kitchen fail.

Dinner:  Home tacos, 24 oz Miller Lite, will have a lime Halo Top bar later

Made them with the La Tortilla Factory low carb flour tortillas instead of the usual corn.  Just to mix it up.

Exercise:  Nope.  Need to ponder how I am going to fix this.

Sized Down Good

Thursday, July 15, 2021

The week rolls on.  More of the same.   So busy.  I'd really like to beat this stress.

Pulled on pants this morning the next size down and they fit perfectly.  I had worn them once by accident a couple weeks ago and they were a bit too tight but now they're good.  The size I have been wearing was getting a little loose so it's not a surprise.  I'm about to a point, though, where I may have a pants shortage - after this size I don't think I have any the next size down.  I have to go down two sizes to what I was wearing when I was doing my best.  It's a good problem to have.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Not hungry.  In fact, didn't eat lunch until 2:30.

Lunch:  Qdoba brisket bowl

Similar to the usual.  Went easy on the salsa and skipped the sour cream in hopes of making it less soupy since I ate there and was wearing a white shirt.  My burrito artists were not super generous with anything.

Dinner:   Breakfast tacos, 4 strips thick cut bacon, 24 oz Miller Lite, will probably have a Halo Top lime bar later.  Small bag of Great Lakes salt pepper and onion chips

Same as yesterday except no hash browns.  Went with the quick prep since the bacon was already cooked.

Exercise:  Nope.  Need to fix that too.

Confirmation Biased

Wednesday, July 14, 2021

Another day.  Another data point that one meal of tacos, one meal of salad of some sort and a countable bit of exercise is a reliable way for someone really fat to drop a few pounds.  Like I've said before, I wished I liked salad more than I do.  I do wonder what they'd say if I asked them to hold half of the lettuce.

Not a great night for sleep, was awake way too late and the combination of not being super sleepy, phone and being amped up from watching the TdF made it difficult to nod off.  I've been better lately about not doing tech in bed but last night was a step back.  Didn't get enough sleep, snore score was up and I just didn't sleep great.  May need to go back to using the mattress topper.  I'm frustrated that I have not had much luck shifting my schedule the way that I want it, which would be sleeping 10-5 or 10-6.

Still pleased enough with how things are going.  Under 50 to go to my low weight since starting this, well under 100 to my goal.  Even the stretch goal, where I think I can be long term, is there in sight.  Way off in the distance, but in sight.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Not hungry.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Slightly different than usual, just went with cojack cheese, sour cream and fire sauce.   I said slightly and I meant slightly.  All good.  Was in a hurry so I didn't get out the jalas or the homemade hot sauce.

Dinner:  Breakfast tacos, 4 strips thick cut Meijer bacon, 12 oz Miller Lite, 12 oz All Day IPA

Remembered that I bought a package of La Tortilla Factory low carb flour tortillas, so I used a couple of those.  Bigger than expected size-wise!  2 eggs, scrambled with a splash of milk, diced ham, jalapenos, a single serving of hash browns, a sprinkle of cojack cheese, minced onion and hot sauce.  Absolutely delicious.  More food than I was planning on but that's OK.   I thought the torts were going to be big enough to make a burrito, but I didn't buy that size.  It's just a big ol' bag.

Exercise:  Nope.  Very very late this morning.  Annoying.

More Food For The Formula

Tuesday, July 13, 2021

As feared all those tortillas yesterday were too many tortillas.  Guess I can't have too many all-taco days.

At least without exercise.  Really starting to think that for now a proper formula is one meal (i.e. lunch tacos) with carbs and one with as few as possible is right for workdays without notable exercise.  On weekends when I'm active I seem more able to get away with two such meals.  Of course that means I'll have to give up hash browns with my breakfast for dinner (which, let's face it may or may not happen) during the week but yeah.

Threw yesterday's pants into the laundry, they'll get a wash and then stacked in an obsolete clothing pile.  Not worth donating them, they've taken a lot of abuse.  Once I've maintained less fat for a while I'll dispose of them.  Which will be a good day.  Put on a pair the next size down this morning, they're already getting pretty loose.  I know I have at least one pair a further size down, but not sure what I have in the size after that.  One more gets me to what I was wearing at my low weight eight years ago.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Not hungry.  Could have had lunch about 11:30 though.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Standard.  Later than usual, didn't get home until 1:00.

Dinner:  Chef salad with ranch, 12 oz Miller Lite, small bag of Great Lakes salt, pepper and onion chips, strawberry Halo Top bar

I wonder what they'd say if I asked for a salad with half as much lettuce.

Exercise:  9 holes with cart, a little more walking than usual.

Retirement Party Upcoming

Monday, July 12, 2021

No, not that kind of retirement party.  Alas.  I pulled on my pants this morning and it's completely obvious that they need to be retired, they are now way too big.  Not the slightest hint of contact that would let them stay in place without the suspenders.  Not exactly unhappy about this development.   I have a couple pairs of jeans that should get the same treatment.

A little surprised not to take a hit for last night's unhealthy dinner and way too many chips.  Happy though.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Not hungry.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Very standard.  And it was a good time to eat.

Dinner:  4 tacos mexican style, plus avocado and hot sauce.  12 oz All Day IPA.  Will have a strawberry Halo Top bar later

The return of takeout taco Monday!  They were extra good tonight.  We'll see tomorrow if I pay a price for eating so many tortillas in one day (seriously, that's 700 calories worth of corn).  If not and the power of TACOS prevails I could see doing this again.  Not many tastier sub-$7 meals around.

Exercise:  Nope.  Sleep schedule is a bit off.

Nice Reward Day

Sunday, July 11, 2021

Nice reward for a solid day yesterday, lots of activity and a super low starch dinner.  It would be nice if I liked salad more, it's a handy way to avoid the wheat, corn and potatoes.

Not as intense today, though I do have a million things to accomplish.

Breakfast:  6 strips thick cut Meijer bacon, coffee

Good stuff.  Bacon is better as a complementary piece, but I didn't feel like eating anything else.

Lunch:  2 eggs, hash browns, cheddar jack cheese, a bite of avocado

The avocado somehow managed to be underripe (after a week!) so I didn't eat much of it.

Dinner:  BBQ sandwich, fries w a little ketchup, 16 oz Mich Ultra, a Body Armor Lyte, Boulder Canyon avo oil salt & pepper chips

Tasty.  Not healthy, but tasty none the less.

Exercise:  18 holes w cart, good walking, plus a trip to the store, a bit over 12k steps

Activity Day

Saturday, July 10, 2021

Busy day.  Got up early, as golf was a distance away.  Finished up and then went directly to an hour of moving stuff, house cleanout style.  Grabbed dinner and headed home.  Whew.

Another super low snore score last night, though it wasn't a great night of sleep.  Definitely woke up several times.  Wasn't as rested this morning.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, 3 strips bacon, raisin toast w homemade strawberry jam, coffee

Standard pre-golf breakfast out.  Remembered to take a photo today.  Excellent.

Lunch:  12 oz Miller Lite after golf

Dinner:  Steak fajita salad - romaine, tomato, peppers and onions, guac and cheese.  Strawberry Halo Top bar.

Different location of the place I ate yesterday.  It was OK.  I couldn't finish it, it was enormous.  Did eat more of the non-lettuce stuff than I anticipated.

What was left.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, forgot the pedometer.  An hour of moving stuff.

Bowled Up

Friday, July 9, 2021

A busy, busy day.  But pretty good, especially now that the work part is finished.  Got off to a solid start, with the lowest snore score I've seen in a long time.  Felt pretty good, too.  Wasn't hungry this morning, in fact didn't eat lunch until 2:00 or so.

And what a lunch it was.  Went to a local burrito place while out and about and settled on a Keto Bowl.  I'm not sure just how keto it is given the cheese sauce, but it was quite good.  And it was E freaking Normous.  I guess I could have ordered the smaller size and saved a buck or two, but not having been there before I didn't know.

Breakfast:  Coffee

I managed to resist the donuts one of the staff brought in.  A small win.

Lunch:  Keto Bowl with steak, cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, guac, shredded cheese and sour cream

It was good.  Destroyed the first half, then slowed down.  Could have stopped 3/4 of the way through, but didn't.  Could have gotten a box after 1/2.  Didn't.  Not many regrets.

Dinner:  Breakfast tacos - 1 egg scrambled with a splash of milk, 2 tortillas, 2 sausage patties, hot sauce.  12 oz All Day IPA, 12 oz Miller Lite, will have a strawberry Halo Top bar later

Unsurprisingly I wasn't too hungry.  Went with something easy, did it all on the griddle.  One sausage patty would have worked better quantity-wise, but sausage sounded tasty so I made two.

Exercise:  Nope.  Had hopes of getting in nine holes tonight but it didn't work out.

Falling Off

Thursday, July 8, 2021

Maybe I won't take a hit for Monday night's mess after all.  I figure one would be coming and last night was a little shaky too - I was pretty liberal with dinner and then had a small bag of Great Lakes salt, pepper and onion chips at about 9:30 (add to yesterday plzkthx).  Instead I got another drop.  I could get used to that, though I know better.

It felt today like my clothes were falling off me.  That's a nice feeling, though a little odd.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Actually got a little hungry about 11:30.  Could have eaten something earlier too but it wasn't any big deal.  Easy to just ignore.

Lunch:  Home tacos

Good (and messy) as always.  No changes.

Dinner:  Qdoba brisket bowl, 12 oz All Day IPA, will have a strawberry Halo Top bar later

Standard.   I decided to just dump it into my own bowl when I got home.

Exercise:  Nope.  Hoping to motivate to do some cleaning tonight.
