Ugh.  Back to reality.  Got home late last night, slept ok but just cratered late afternoon.  Hoping to go to bed very early.  At least I didn't gain any weight on the trip.

One of those days.

Dinner:  2x mexican tacos, 2x american.  12 oz Miller Lite.  A few oreos.


Standard Monday fare.  Cleaned up some trip food with the Oreos.

Exercise:  Nope.  Really flagging.   Some of it is a medical reason.  Plus I have a horrible callus on the bottom of my foot right now.

It wasn't horrible but neither was it good.

Also:  Cheez it snapped, 4x12 oz Yuengling, a couple mini candy bars

Exercise:  27 holes with cart, tons of walking (cart path only, mountain course)

At least 15k steps, lol.  Felt pretty good though!

Oy.  Really dragging after Wednesday's events.  And I didn't have good luck with my sock and shoe and padding choices, the callus was a real problem.

Too Normal For Much Annoyance

Pretty routine Monday.  Didn't have a great morning but the afternoon and evening were productive.  I have SO much to do.

Have felt a little off since a medication addition and adjustment, have felt notably better today so hopefully I'm adjusting to it.  I have a strong preference to not be on meds so I need to get serious when I'm back from vacation ... assuming I get to go.  I will say I was pleased to not have gained yesterday.  I was reasonably active which helped.

Breakfast:  Home bread w butter and strawberry preserves

Bought a jar for the trip but it turns out I don't need to bring it.  A nice addition.

Lunch:  Deluxe sub

It's a good thing that the place that makes these isn't closer, it's dangerously good.  Also tried the new Pepsi Zero Sugar.  It's okay and definitely better than the prior version.

Dinner:  2x mexican, 2x american tacos.  A few triscuits and bar cheez later

Clean up after standard fare.  All good.

Exercise:  Nope.

Slightly Less Annoyed

Still annoyed but a hair less so.  Vacation still in jeopardy but there are now reasons that are not related to me and my adventures in medicine.  Interesting that I frankly feel worse now, was feeling fine before these appointments.

We'll see what happens.

Yup.  Picked up a couple donuts yesterday evening.  Dumbass.

Lunch:  3 eggs over medium, hash browns in olive oil, 4 strips bacon


Different hash browns, these are refrigerated not frozen.  They were fine.  Nailed the eggs too.

Snack:  Triscuits and bar cheez

Dinner:  Low carb chicken pot pie, SF applesauce, 12 oz Mich Ultra, Great Value mint choc cookies

Experiment with a recipe, Sunday dinners may be going low carb.  Cookies were later ldo.

Exercise:  Nope,  Reasonably active, but not a lot of pep.

Well I Got Half

It was a good plan.  I decided to stay awake and power through yesterday, then go to bed early in hopes of then getting up early for a full reset of my internal clock.  I got half of it right.  In bed just after 8:00, asleep by 9:00 -- I could have done a little better there.  Woke up early ... and was still tired.  Ended up sleeping as late as I could.  So I got probably nine hours with only a couple interruptions.  

Anyway, I needed to spend yesterday at the office and I didn't so I'm going to be grinding trying to get stuff done.

Breakfast:   Coffee

Yup.  Starting to cut back on caffeine, only two cups of high test this week.

Lunch:  3 eggs over hardish, hash browns in olive oil, 3 strips bacon, 2 slices home bread w butter


Overcooked the eggs a shade.  Still working on getting them right.  I think in this case the pan size was a factor.  Still delicious.

Dinner:  2x mexican, 2x american tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite, a small bag of cheezit snapped, Reese PB cups


Bought a couple items of junk food.  Dumb.

One of the more unpleasant days of the year, the one where we spring forward.  Ugh.  I was watching the clock last night, knowing that this morning was going to suck since I was not sleepy.  I woke up courtesy of the bladder at a fairly early hour and decided that I need to tough it out today to get more on schedule.  So far it's going okay I guess.  Trying to limit myself to one cup of caffeinated coffee too.

Otherwise, yesterday's bad eating, delayed effects from Friday possibly, lack of sleep and lack of waste disposal made for an ugly number on the scale.  Oh well.  Need to do better this week, only 10 days until vacation.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels w veggie cream cheese, coffee


Yup.

Lunch:   2x Culvers double deluxe, olive oil chips and onion dip

Dinner:  Grilled cheese sandwich, 12 oz Miller Lite, bacon


Didn't feel like fixing anything elaborate and since I had to slice today's loaf of bread anyway...  Also cooked up a pack of bacon so I can have that with lunches this week.

Whew, TGIS.  It's early afternoon and it's already been a good day even if I'm not setting any productivity records.  I got my office picked up and that's a meaningful win.  A few other little things.  More to do, but it's a start.

Kinda interested by a drop on the scale this morning.  Yesterday was not a good eating day and I wasn't notably active.  It wasn't seed oil free (fries), I had tons of carbs.  I didn't dispose of any waste or notable amounts of water.  /shrug.  I'll take it.

Breakfast:  McD BEC biscuit, egg mcmuffin, apple fritter.  Coffee

Limited it to two cups of coffee, was feeling edgy.  Water helped.

Lunch:  Corned beef reuben, yucca fries


Local fusion place that I almost never go to advertised corned beef specials this weekend and I love corned beef so yeah, let's do it.  Expensive but very tasty.  I could take or leave the yuca fries, they were different but not outstanding in any way.

Snack:  Olive oil chips.  Managed to keep it reasonable.

Dinner:  Qdoba brisket bowl, no bake cookies


Okay.  Not an ideal time to hit the Q, though I did get there before a large group which was nice.

Exercise:  Not really, though I have been quite active.  Looking to move a bunch of boxes which will take a while and if I do I am counting it.  Edit:  Yep, moved a bunch of boxes, got in a good workout.  It counts.

Explosion Exhaustion

All the E words today.  Mostly just exhausted, though.  Intellectually I know that when I go to bed super late and won't have enough time to get a good night of sleep the next day is going to suck and yet somehow it happens and I'm miserable.  It doesn't especially help that I worked a full day on Saturday and didn't get enough downtime yesterday.  And I'm still behind the eight ball at work.

Scale results were predictably explosive, ate way too much and just horribly.  Need to fix that, pronto.  And it would be nice to get to some exercise too so I'm not in such bad shape when vacation arrives.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.  Three cups did nothing.  Going to have to hope some food perks me up at lunch.

Lunch:  Leftover american goulash, grilled cheese

Currently sitting like a rock.  Kinda failed, too, didn't reheat long enough.

Dinner:  2x mexican 2x american tacos, 12 oz Miller Lite

Standard.  Decent.  Also:  Popcorn

As usual when I make it it's done on the stovetop in a little coconut oil, then a little melted butter on top.  Finished eating at 7:00, hoping that helps with efforts to get to bed early.

TGITOS.  That other S.  Eight million things I want and need to do today, but I can do them at my own pace.  Looking to have a good day.

Expected to be up today and I was, but it didn't feel as bad as some of the lighter days I've had recently.  Somehow the fat was denser, firmer, that sort of thing.  Less puffy.  Felt leaner even though I wasn't.  Which is kind of nice.  I would think that if I actually follow through on reducing carbs and greatly reducing the seed oils that I will feel like that more often, but with added bonus less actual fatness.

That's the idea anyway.  Welp.  Let's get busy.

Breakfast:  Lazy bagels with cream cheese, coffee

Yup.  Later, cleaned up four strips of bacon:

Lunch:  Lentils, chips and onion dip, Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich

Dunno.  Yeesh.

Dinner:  American goulash, salad no dressing, garlic toast, 12 oz Miller Lite

For a super basic, not even seasoned sando that sure was good.  Of course it took a little bit for satiety to kick in, but not having anything snackable around it wasn't a problem to fight off the urge to eat more.

Lunch:  Soup and grilled cheese


Excellent as always.  Last of this week's loaf.

Dinner:  Qdoba brisket bowl, 12 oz Miller Lite, chips and onion dip


Different chips and dip, stopped at Aldi.

Dessert:  Brownie and vanilla Haagen Dazs ice cream

Broken Yolks

Whew.  Glad it is Friday, though I still have to get through the rest of it.

Was pleasantly surprised to find sausage patties in stock when I hit Meijer last night, they've been out for months.  Earlier this week I had actually resorted to checking out what Walmart had to offer but wasn't planning to go there until this weekend at the earliest.  Now I can cross that off.  They didn't have any hash browns of the Meijer brand, which is too bad because Ore Ida for some unknown reason is more than double the price.  Ridiculous.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.

Lunch:  2 eggs over, hash browns in olive oil, 2 sausage patties, bread w butter


Typing this up I have to say a V-8 or tomato juice sounds good.  Don't have any little cans though so it's not happening.  Otherwise all good.  Now if I could just crack a few eggs without breaking half the yolks.

Dinner:   3x TB chix chipotle ranch burrito, olive oil chips and onion dip, WM coconut fudge cookies, 12 oz Miller Lite

More epic FAIL.

Yeah.  I emptied the dishwasher at lunch and set the table and sure enough, I put out a spoon as if I were having soup instead of a fork for breakfast.  

Genius.  Idiot.  

Change is hard.

Working on getting through the rest of the week, kind of disappointed that I was unable or unwilling to go to bed early last night.  That was what I really needed to do since I didn't go back to work.  It did not happen.  Not good.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Only had the opportunity for two cups, probably going to have a post lunch decaf.

Lunch:  3 eggs scrambled w guac and sour cream, hash browns in olive oil, 3 strips bacon, home bread w butter


Ahh, much better effort.  Got the pans right, a bit lower heat, all good.  A little heavy on the potatoes, I may need to start measuring them.  Or, you know, stop eating them.

Dinner:  2x Popeyes spicy chicken, Olive oil chips

FAIL.  Epic fail.

Exercise:  Nope.  Still way off on schedule and very tired in the morning.

Rather Out Of Practice

The week rolls on.  February ends with a nominal gain for the month, entirely due to last evening.  I can deal with it, the month was a total trainwreck as far as eating and exercise go.  That said, kicking off a change here today.  

Breakfast:  Coffee

Yup.  Three cups and done early, could have easily had more but I limited myself.  Tired this morning.

Lunch:  3 eggs kinda sunny side, hash browns in olive oil, 3 strips bacon, home bread w butter



Part one is to switch to breakfast for lunch more often.  I used to do that all the time with the fave omelet and sausage patties.  Didn't quite have that today but it was breakfast.  I am rather out of practice, which resulted in overcooked hash browns, overcooked eggs, mediocre bacon.  Visually I was giving it a failing grade before I dug in but it tasted just fine.  So it's an unexpected win.  Had a couple slices of home bread with butter since I have a full loaf of that to eat the rest of the week.  Going forward I'll need to cut the carb count but for a first day it was fine.

Dinner:  Soup and grilled cheese, 12 oz Miller Lite, Nicks mint chip


Part two is to move soup and grilled cheese to dinner.  I like fast and easy and knowing that I have that waiting for me - plus it's a meal I really like - will hopefully reduce the number of pizzas I consume.  Eventually will need to axe the grilled cheese, but for now it's fine.

Very tasty.  Now I just wonder if ditching the grilled cheese would help with the post-dinner desire to eat -- I'm pleasantly full but once again would destroy any snackable food I had handy right now.

Exercise:  Nope.  That part of the equation was not happening, stayed up too late and slept poorly.  Really need to work on my bedtime discipline.
