I mean, I know I say it every week, but say it with me. With authority. TGIS. Seriously. I just seem to run out of gas by Friday afternoon - not physically so much, but more mentally. It gets hard to fight through the dontwanna. But now, even though I have a million things to do, I'm not locked into being at the office, chained to the phone. Feels good man.
Not as much cooking planned for the weekend. Going to make a pot of soup but that may be about it. Have a new item on the menu but otherwise a lot of same old dependably good stuff.
Breakfast: 1 egg over medium hard, 2 slices toast with butter, guacamole, a sprinkle of mexicheese, grapefruit, coffee
A little sandwich action this morning, nice and easy and delicious. Wasn't super hungry so it was easy to keep things in check. And I cleaned up bread I didn't eat when I missed lunch on Thursday. All good.
Lunch: Chili Cheese Dogs
Something new! Homemade buns -- yes, I made them giant on purpose, next time I'll make them smaller -- Kogel's beef franks, homemade chili dog sauce, mustard and oops I remembered onion halfway through eating. Quite good and better, honestly, without the onion. Next time I'll use a milder onion. Might also toss them in a heated oven to melt the cheese (since I didn't have any finely shredded cheddar open). But all in all very good.
Snack: Chips and onion dip.
Didn't have lunch until 2:00 so I had a snack. Doh. Weekends.
Dinner: Home thin crust pizza with sausage and onion, 24 oz All Day IPA
I do love the Saturday night pizza and it's so very easy (at least when you have dough and sausage thawed from the freezer ready to go). Just delightful.
Might have a gin and tonic later just for something different, I think I have a little bottle of tonic that's been hanging out in the fridge for a long time. Edit: Nope, never got around to it.
Exercise: Sigh. I think it was 5 degrees when I woke up. Which was not at 5:00. Not close. Going to try to make up for the absence of regulation exercise by being nice and active today.
