Got home about 12:30 this morning.  Hoooo boy was I tired today.  Kinda nice though to not gain weight despite holiday eating.

Respecting Power

Giving thanks today for the power ... of nasal spray.  I don't like to use it and do so only a couple times a year, but when called upon it's a miracle worker.  Sprayed last night and it defeated whatever combination of fat, dust, dairy, mattress chemicals and other environmental hazards that prevent me from getting enough oxygen.  Slept straight through, quality appears to be have been decent with mild snoring.  Being able to breath normally through the nose is an underappreciated blessing!  Kind of like my experience living in a place without a functional hot shower a ways back.

Looking forward to eating at home again when I'm back from vacation, this eating out all the time is just dumb.

Weird.  I felt good when I woke up this morning.  I first woke at 10 minutes to 4:00, but was able to doze back off until the alarm went off at 5:00.  Actually got up and felt fine.  Dawdled a bit but never felt the need to go back to sleep.  I figure I got six hours and the snoring was pretty bad, so I have no idea why I felt decent.

I'll take it thought.

No cocoa butter today.

Lunch:  Home tacos with jack cheese sour cream and homemade hot sauce, plain greek yogurt


Good stuff.  Made 2 lb of taco meat so I'm stocked.

Paid the price this morning for the weekend's gluttony.  And I didn't do anything today to reverse it, obviously.  Going in the wrong direction here before vacation, which is only ten days away but who's counting.  (Hint:  IT ME)

Only had one cup this morning for some reason.

Lunch:  CFA 2x spicy, frosted lemonade

No photo.  Wanted chicken, got chicken.

Dinner:  3 tacos mexican style plus avo and hot sauce, chips and salsa


Been wanting some crunch, pretty sure this was a suboptimal way to get it.  Good though.

It's true what they say, you can't outrun (or in my case outwalk) a bad diet.  Sigh.  

Plan for today is TBD, rain forecast is somewhat improved so maybe golf will happen after all.  If the course isn't too soggy after yesterday's deluge that is.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns in butter, 4 strips Meijer regular bacon, grapefruit, coffee

As is often the case, breakfast of champions today.  Glorious.  Bacon a shade overdone, may want to drop the temp when making regular thickness I dunno.  But still 9.5/10.  Really enjoying the homemade hot sauce too.  Will have to make another batch when I get back from vacation.

Lunch:  Wendys Daves Double (before golf), Popeyes spicy chicken (after golf)


Junk food but both sandwiches were good.

Dinner:  Meatloaf, four cheese mashed potatoes, cheesy green beans, rolls with butter, peaches

Sunday dinners man.

Also a Culver's concrete mixer.  And I need to add 12 oz Miller Lite to yesterday.

FAT.

Exercise:  9 holes walking.  Pedometer said almost exactly 10,000 steps.

Thank goodness for the weekend.  Up too late last night, so I was sleepy this morning.  Barely made it to golf in a timely fashion.  That's life I guess.  After vacation I really need to make a push to fix the sleep schedule.

Anyway, feeling pretty lucky tonight, we dodged nearly all the forecast rain this morning.  Rained hard all afternoon after we finished and still going this evening.  I don't enjoy being out in the rain.

Breakfast:  2 eggs scrambled, tortillas, jack cheese, homemade hot sauce, 4 strips Kiolbasa pepper bacon, coffee


So late I didn't take the time to eat my grapefruit.  Just stuck it back in the fridge.

Lunch:  CFA spicy chicken, frosted lemonade (no photo, eaten in car)

More like dinner part 1, since it was after 4:00.

Dinner:  2x Taco Bell beef burritos  (no photo, eaten in car)

Lots of calories today.  They were meh.  Home tacos would have been a better option if I had thawed any beef or made the batch that I'm planning on doing tomorrow.

Exercise.  18 holes with cart, good extra walking.  With the trip to the grocery store the pedometer reported 15,750 steps, of which over 11k were from golf.  Not bad.  Even better, I felt pretty good.

Sticky Weight

I remember fondly when big weight drops happened last month.  Getting rid of that easy surplus water is such a good feeling.  The little drops that come later in the process, especially after a big jump, are much less enjoyable.  Better than gains but way less fun.  Some of the weight this time seems to be sticky, it's going to hang around until and unless I get serious.

Breakfast:  Coffee w cocoa butter

Pretty amusing, I was thinking about cutting back to 2MAD after vacation and the next thing I knew I was out the door without having grabbed my cheese.  Oops.  No harm done.

Lunch:  Home tacos w refried beans, jack cheese, fire sauce and lettuce.  Plain greek yogurt.


Dependably good.

Dinner:  3 eggs sunnyside, hash browns in butter, 4 strips Kiolbasa pepper bacon, hot sauces.  24 oz Miller Lite


I was hungry, then I ate this enormous plate of perfection and now I'm not hungry.  It may have been a bit much but ... no regrets.

Exercise:  Nope.  Very sluggish (and late) this morning, pouring rain this evening.  Not much pep and no projects that involve weightlifting tonight.

I am suprisingly OK with last night's meltdown.  Reasons.  Was pleased that I didn't feel bad this morning, I thought there might be a lingering effect other than the anticipated bump on the scale.  As a bonus I have not been hungry so far.

Breakfast:  2 slices sharp cheddar, coffee with min cocoa butter

Standard.

Lunch:  Keto sausage balls, plain greek yogurt, hot dill pickle chips


Just reaching for convenience here.  All good.

Dinner:  Home tacos with refried beans, jack cheese, lettuce, sour cream, fire sauce, leftover restaurant hot sauce from Monday.  24 oz All Day IPA


It was a very cheesy day.  It has occurred to me that I should eat less of it.  Anyway, I put beans between the tortillas instead of cheese this time and it worked out great, these were delicious.  Tacos FTW.

ExerciseNope.  Super sluggish this morning due to staying up far too late.  Lots of home projects this evening.  Excuses, excuses.  Edit:  Yes.  I took my TV off the wall and had to lift the darned thing a bunch of times to get it back up there.  It's like I lifted and you're darned right I'm counting it, that was a fun hour.

I seem to be having a hard time really getting in the groove.  I did get a lot accomplished (relatively speaking) at home last evening, while the day was not productive at work.  Can't seem to put it all together.

Salad Failure

In a normal world this week would be spring break.  Since I really can't go anywhere ... or at least shouldn't go anywhere ... instead it's work as usual.

Not a good night of sleep.  Tired this morning and have some aches and pains that were not there last evening, a leg is cranky, I can feel the corn on the bottom of my foot and pretty stiff in general.  Oh well, I suppose it comes with being old and fat.

Breakfast:  2 slices sharp cheddar, coffee with min cocoa butter

Standard.

Lunch:  Taco salad with rubbed pork, 2 Lewis butter rolls with butter and Meijer honey ham leftovers



Salad was a fail.  Ate about a quarter of it, then a few bites picking out the pork, then I just gave up.  I thought the pork would be fine when I ate a small piece yesterday but I just didn't care for it.  Back to the adovada plan for when I want pork.  Going to try just using taco meat tomorrow.  Fortunately I had leftovers from last night on hand to fill in.

Dinner:  4 tacos, mexican style with avocado and hot sauce.  24 oz Miller Lite


Dependably good and I remembered to keep it to 4.  Soon I should downsize to three.

Exercise:  Nope.  Rest day, as mentioned my body is cranky today.  Which is disappointing.

Uppepped

Happy Easter.  Off to a good if a bit slow start this morning.  Woke up at 5:00 and have lazed about for quite some time.  Not sleepy but still kinda tired.  It's probably going to take a bit to get used to being more active but that's okay.  I'm looking forward to the time outside.  It was cold yesterday morning but eventually the wind died off and it got well up into the 50s.  Today is forecast for mid-60s which will be glorious.  I was pleased that I wasn't too wiped out yesterday after golf, hoping that's a sign of real if small progress.

Oh and I managed a great accomplishment before 6:00 a.m., I managed to reset my pedometer.  I can actually read really small type when I don't have the contacts in.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, hash browns, sour cream and hot sauce, 4 strips leftover bacon, grapefruit, coffee


Another deluxe weekend breakfast.  I prefer the hash browns less crispy (use the smaller pan my guy) but still tasty.  The Kiolbasa bacon didn't reheat notably well, I'll have to remember that.

Lunch:  Keto sausage balls, medium avocado


Made the sausage balls, maybe not my finest batch but they're fine.  And lots for the freezer.

Dinner:  Ham, box scalloped potatoes, corn, rolls with butter, pineapple, carrot cake and vanilla ice cream



Pretty traditional Easter dinner.  Very starchy but it all was good.  Next year we'll hopefully have the whole family together again.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart, good extra walking.  Pedometer said just over 12,000 steps.  I should check my stride length, because it calculated that as almost 7 miles when for a normal person it would be more like 6.  But whatever, I'll probably just go with it.

It's never a surprise when there are consequences for eating commercial pizza.   I mean, I'm always thirsty after I eat it and then I notably retain that liquid.  /Shrug.  It'll be gone soon enough.  I shouldn't eat it and maybe someday I won't.

Breakfast:  2 eggs over medium, 4 strips Kiolbasa pepper bacon, hash browns, sour cream and hot sauce, grapefruit, coffee


Fueling up for a day outside.  Looking forward to it.

Lunch:  Bacon wrapped hot dog w/ KMRO, tater tots with ketchup, dill spear, 12 oz Miller Lite


I won't eat a lot of the time after golf, but I was ready for something.

Dinner:  Culvers mushroom and swiss burger


Always delivers, even if they're crazy slow getting the orders out.  Almost 8:00 by the time I ate it.

Exercise:  18 holes with cart.  Not a ton of walking, just about 10k steps.  If I can find a magnifying glass maybe I can fix the settings on my pedometer.  Add in a trip to the store and I hit 12,500.

A Pretty Good Friday

Not as rested this morning for whatever reason.  No idea why.  I will say that it does not help when I wake up and am immediately stuck thinking about work stuff.  That needs to stop.

Breakfast:  2 slices sharp cheddar, coffee w min cocoa butter

Standard

Lunch:  Home tacos w ground beef, mexicheese/cheddar jack, sour cream and homemade hot sauce.  Plain greek yogurt


Made hot sauce for the first time last night and broke it out for the tacos, turned out quite good.  Just a little heat (jalapenos, not anything hotter), good flavor, spooned on nicely.   Once I have a bottle freed up I'll probably use one of those, this was just an overflow container since I made more than fit into a pint jar.  Should last a few weeks I would think.

And yes, I only sauced one taco until I tested it out lol.

Dinner:  Pizza Hut thin crust pep ham green olive pizza


Was so good last week I had it again.  I love my homemade pizzas and the local joints but sometimes a ten buck chain pizza is exactly what you want.  Three thousand calories of yup.

Exercise:  Nope.  At least golf is in the plans for the weekend.

Simply A Fool

March is over, never a bad thing.  Bring on spring and some warmer weather.

Actually woke up early this morning, before 5:00 and didn't feel bad.  I didn't get anything accomplished other than getting some blood drawn before work but still it was nice to not be dozy.  Trending in the right direction there.

Breakfast:  2 slices sharp cheddar, coffee w min cocoa butter

Standard.

Lunch:  Home tacos with ground beef, mexicheese, sour cream and fire sauce.  Fage 5% plain yogurt.


Messy but it tasted good.  Lousy photo too, weird lighting.  

It appears the TruBlend yogurts might be dead in favor of a variety that has sugar on the ingredients list.  Oh well, I can always buy plain and doctor it up if I feel the need.

Dinner:  2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, medium avocado, cream cheese, banana bread w butter, 24 oz All Day IPA



Decided not to cook up more bacon.  It's better with bacon.  Still delicious though.  Huge hunk of banana bread, felt the need to be done with it.

Exercise:  Nope.
