Fat Day

Last day of the month, couldn't hold strong for one more day Wilson Phillips style.

Had to get blood drawn at lunch and didn't feel like going home too, then I had to stay super late at work (got home at 7:30) and cooking wasn't going to happen.  Result was predictable.

Breakfast:  Coffee with cocoa butter

Need to remember to bring the mugs home this weekend and run 'em thru the dishwasher.

Lunch:  Culvers bacon deluxe (minus mayo plus mustard), onion rings, Dr Pepper

No photo taken.  Idiot.

Dinner:  2x Hot n Spicy McChicken, 2x cheeseburger, 24 oz All Day IPA, will probably have a gin and tonic too


It sure takes longer than I would like for satiety to kick in with McFood.  I should be stuffed and yet all I want to do is keep eating.  Good thing I'm out of McFood.  All gone.

Looser Without Losser

A pleasant feeling this morning.  Clothes felt looser, limbs freer.  No aches or pains.  Not the product of any dip on the scale -- no surprise there, I had way too many calories last night -- but it was nice.  And it wasn't the product of extra sleep, since I stayed up way too late doing nothing.

Breakfast:  Coffee with cocoa butter

Was tempted by a bagel, resisted for now.

Lunch:  Ham and cheddar on sourdough, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt


Pretty standard lunch.

Dinner:  Meijer hot & spicy peanuts (pre), 12 oz All Day IPA, Homemade leftover barbacoa tacos with cheddar and guac, 16 oz Miller Lite, will have a gin and tonic most likely



Pretty solid.  Holy cow they packed a lot of barbacoa into that 16 oz tub, I still have a ton left.  Hopefully it's still good tomorrow night.

Exercise:  Nope.  Between yesterday and today we got 3.5" of rain.  I think it has stopped, but I'm not going outside to find out.  Planning to golf this weekend, walking.

A tiring day.  For no good reason whatsoever.

Breakfast:  Coffee with cocoa butter

Still like it this way.

Lunch:  Ham and cheddar sandwich on sourdough, Fage vanilla TruBlend yogurt


A solid lunch.  And very standard.

Dinner:  TB shredded chicken burrito, 2x beefy fritos burrito, doritos taco.  2x homemade barbacoa tacos with extra sharp cheddar, 24 oz All Day IPA, will probably have a gin and tonic also


Got a tub of barbacoa from the BBQ place this weekend, last item to sample.  Pretty good.  I have some tortillas now to reheat tomorrow as well.  No bag shot of the TB.

Exericse:  Nope.  Up late again for no good reason last night, pouring rain again tonight.

Three More Weeks

Expecting three more weeks of this, at least that's what has been announced.  Could go longer, who knows.  Interesting times.

Pleased not to be too bloated this morning according to the scale, but I sure felt extra uh jiggly around the middle.  Ugly.  Really, really ugly.

Breakfast:  Coffee with cocoa butter

Back to it.  I don't need the calories but I'll see if I can get back to leaning out the midsection by upping stearic acid consumption.

Lunch:  Leftover pizza with pepperoni, bacon and mushrooms


Dependably good.  I chose to just eat it cold.

Pre-dinner:  Meijer hot and spicy peanuts, 12 oz Founders All Day IPA


Not super hungry, just wanted a little something.  Managed to drive home instead of going to a drive thru so at least there is that.  It helped knowing I had this stuff on hand and that I have a tasty dinner planned.

Dinner:  Leftover smoked ribeye, TCD style mashed potatoes, will probably have  gin and tonic later


Excellent.  That was the last of the ribeye - I only bought a pound.  Probably could have stretched it a bit further but I have other things to eat.

Exercise:  Nope.  Would have been a good morning, but I got to sleep way too late.  Raining this evening, so it's a no go.

Not much going on so far today.  Just hanging out.  Breakfast in the books, lunch in the plans.  I did wake up briefly at exactly 5:00, which was nice.  Not nice enough to get me out of bed, since I went to bed way too late and slept so-so, but it was nice to wake up when I would like to wake and without an alarm.  I suck.

On the plus side, at least my fears did not come true, I didn't balloon massively to 500 pounds (lol) after eating all that food yesterday.  Still up, still bloated.  Next time I make a run like that though I'll bring a fork so I can eat my lunch in the car instead of toting it all the way home.  

Also, I'm glad I didn't buy more junk food at the store, because I would have grazed my way through an entire bag of chips and who knows what else so far today and I haven't even had lunch yet.

Breakfast:  3 strips bacon, slice of cinnamon raisin bread with lots of butter


Cut the bread down to one slice, seems sufficient.  It should keep just fine in the freezer so I may as well stretch it a bit.  I did get a bag of AP flour at the store but they didn't have any bread flour (or vital wheat gluten, not that I would have purchased any).  

Lunch:  Bloody mary (prelunch), 2 eggs over easy, smoked ribeye, hash browns, avocado




I was a little short finishing off my bottle of bloody mary mix so my drink was STRONG.  Lunch was delicious, picked up the ribeye yesterday - I got a lot of stuff for my $40.  Two slices left so I'll be having steak again tomorrow!

First Dinner:  2x TB beefy fritos burritos

Pizza turned out fantastic, was well after 8:00 when I ate tho.  Pictured is the half I didn't eat ... apparently I was hungry enough to forget to take a photo of my plate.

Exercise:  9 holes, walking.  My phone said about 6800 steps, roughly 2.5 miles

You have to love an unintentional early morning.  Woke up at five no alarm.  Eventually got up and barely managed to push myself out the door.  Didn't go far -- I'm tired and a little achy (thanks sugar!) and fighting another round of callus on the bottom of foot.  Which is surprisingly annoying for something that isn't super painful.  I don't like being gimpy.  Back to wearing compression socks which seems to help.

Breakfast:  3 strips Wright applewood bacon, homemade cinnamon raisin bread with butter, coffee


I may have to try thawing the bread overnight first, it was fine (tasty even) but a little on the crunchy side.  A fine breakfast.

Lunch:  Beef and cheddar sausage, pepperoni pizza sausage, cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, cornbread


Hit up the not-that-local BBQ/grilling outfit and got a boatload of stuff.  Ate way too much and I've got more for dinner and for lunch tomorrow and beyond.  I might weigh 400 pounds tomorrow.  Maybe 500.  Yeesh.

Dinner:  Smoked ribs with Stubbs spicy BBQ sauce, slice of sourdough w/ butter, 2x gin and tonics


I hadn't had ribs in forever.  These were quite good, albeit epically messy.  They probably won't be a regular part of my rotation but I'm glad I tried them.  The photo is of half the rack.

Exercise:  Just a few blocks, down and back.  Maybe 15 minutes or so.  Counts, because I did it.

Made it to the end of another week.   Really lost focus this afternoon, didn't get much accomplished.  Sorted through some things at the office but I can't say that it was too productive.

Made it through the grocery store as well, that took forever.  Might be the most I've spent outside Christmas season, but it wasn't all for me.  The good news is that I'm set for a good two weeks, though I am planning a trip for some BBQ tomorrow.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Next week, probably going cocoa butter.

Lunch:  Culver's bacon deluxe (minus mayo plus mustard), onion rings


Good.

First dinner:  2x TB beefy fritos burritos


Glad I ate something before nearly two hours at the grocery store.

Late Month Movement

Scale making a late month move back down toward where it was at the start of the month.  Still up a few pounds.  Will probably overeat again this weekend.  Not going to be too concerned.  But it's still nice to see it tick back down after some really bad binging.

Week has gone by pretty quickly.  Glad tomorrow will be Friday, even though once again I have nothing planned for the weekend.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Had a third one after lunch since I didn't bring in any water.

Lunch:  Ham and cheese sandwich, spicy guac, Fage cherry TruBlend yogurt


Added the guac because.  Was going to add it to the sandwich but didn't.

Didn't get extra avo tonight.  Huge, huge salad.  Demolished it.  Figured I'd post a pretty picture, one that's before it gets dumped into a bowl, mixed and devoured.

Another day.  They kinda blend together at this point.  

I was interested to see that my snore score (on SnoreLab) was the lowest I can ever remember (3).  No idea why, though I have had a couple low numbers lately.  I've felt okay when waking up for the most part, so maybe I really am getting better sleep.  Not sure.  It could just be variance, I could be sleeping further away from the microphone for all I know.  I do keep it in the same place, so it should at least be consistent compared with the past three months.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Lunch:  Ham, bacon and cheese sandwich, Fage vanilla TruBlend yogurt


Same sammy as yesterday.  Pretty good iyam.

Dinner:  Leftover (freezer) pepperoni pizza, 24 oz All Day IPA, leftover swiss steak.  Will probably have a gin and tonic too.




Last of the steak.  Also, it's kinda fun not knowing what kind of pizza you pulled from the freezer -- I haven't been labeling them because they're obviously pizza and I never care what kind, it's not like I'm making combinations I'll hate.  Drew simple pepperoni this time.

Bah.  Even though the scale is hanging around the same number, I'm not liking the visuals right now.  More midsection bloat than I've seen in a while.  It may be that I need to do a reset, giving the seed oils, sugar and most grain the boot.  Might also have the additional benefit of getting the hunger under control a bit.

And then there is exercise.  There is no damned excuse for being this lazy.  I have time.  Lots of time.  I just don't do it.  Time to stop blaming the weather (though it is true it hasn't been the slightest bit springlike) and just suffer through the cold and wind and rain.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Felt large this morning.  Scale was not nearly as bad as feared, which was nice.

Otherwise, it's another week.  I somehow have lots to do, which is vaguely annoying, and it won't get done, which is extremely annoying.  Work is just trickling out.  It's pathetic.

I mean seriously, who could have seen that coming?  Big fast food lunch.  A couple liters of beer.  And way too much pizza for dinner.  Of course I'm bloated.  Really outstanding choices there.

At the same time I'm only so concerned.  Strange days and I have been quite unmotivated. 

Breakfast:  Oatcakes from the freezer with butter, 4 strips bacon, coffee


Even though I'd rather eat it at lunch I sure love breakfast food.

First Lunch:  Cinnamon raisin bread with butter, bloody mary


Bread turned out quite good.  Not sweet, not super cinnamon-y.  Put the rest of the loaf in the freezer.  No photo of the bloody, just a standard homemade one.  Oh, and I ate the other end of the bread too.

Second Lunch:  Leftover sausage, bacon and mushroom pizza


Delicious.  Not the greatest photo but oh well.

Dinner:  Swiss steak, buttered egg noodles, gin & tonic


Turned out great.

Exercise:  Nope.

I don't really have a covid ad, I'm just tired of seeing them.  Darned Youtube.  They've also seemingly made it impossible to compile a playlist, so I can't even properly queue up videos I'll want to see over and over.  Why does tech change always make things worse?

Anyway, another exciting weekend of staying home.  I will probably work for a while tomorrow as I feel like I'm falling further and further behind despite the inflow slowing way down.

Breakfast:  Coffee, 4 strips Kiolbasa hickory bacon


I usually prefer applewood but this was good stuff.  Also apparently was expired, not that I'm worried about that, it was vac sealed.

Lunch:  CFA 2x spicy chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese, medium sprite


BAG SHOT!

I didn't order the sprite.  I ordered a water.   I got a sprite.  Wasn't going to go back through the line to get a water, wasn't going to eat spicies without liquid.  My apologies to whomever got my water instead of their sprite.

Also:  32 oz Miller Lite

Dinner:  Sausage and mushroom pizza, 32 oz Miller Lite


Ate too much.  This pizza was kinda ugly, misshapen and smaller than its prettier brothers.  Tasted great though.

I expected worse, frankly.  Ate out twice yesterday and didn't really hold back.  Predicted a small gain.  Instead I let go of lots of liquid and was down.   Go figure.  Can't say how I feel or look matches up with the scale, but whatever.  I'm not terribly obsessed at the moment.  Stupid pandemic.

Decided today that I like the sandwiches better without cheese, which is weird because I love cheese.  LOVE cheese.  Missed the frosted lemonade but it was the right call.

I was happy that the local mexican place was busy.

My goodness.  I was having a pretty good day.  Light lunch, coffee in the morning, no problem.  And then about 4:30 the HUNGER hit.  Like it hasn't hit in a long time.  I picked up Taco Bell right away after leaving work and that barely dented it.  Yikes.

Lunch:  Leftover pepperoni pizza


Dinner:  2x TB beefy fritos burritos, shredded chicken burrito, doritos taco.  24 oz All Day IPA.  Cheese popcorn, oatmeal raisin cookies with a glass of whole milk




Popcorn was excellent.  Neighbor dropped off the cookies, which were also excellent.

It Wasn't That Fun

Coronabinge 2020 has been completed and hoo boy.  If gaining weight in a short period of time could be monetized I'd be a rich man.  Between excessive calories and retained liquid I'm a champ.  And yet, like the title says, it wasn't that fun.  I'm ready to go back to being more responsible -- eating way too much pizza last night kinda pushed me over the edge -- and other than an ongoing desire for hot and spicy mcchickens and chickfila I'm pretty much over the "need" for anything.  My digestive system will also be thankful for a return to eating better.

Otherwise it was a highly successful weekend.  I did virtually nothing as planned.  I contacted zero people from the time I got home from the grocery store on Friday night until 10:00 this morning.  I slept as much as I wanted, though that wasn't really a lot more than usual.  I was a little poky getting up this morning but not too bad -- sleep quality was predictably mediocre as I was working through the binge overnight.

I'm also quite tired of offering excuses for the lack of exercise.  Today is supposed to be a thoroughly miserable day with wind up to 50 mph (and cold) but really, I could do *something*.

Breakfast:  Coffee

May decide to get back to cocoa buttering this week but probably not today.

Lunch:  "leftover" pepperoni pizza


Leftover in a sense that I made an extra pizza yesterday so I'd have some for lunch today and tomorrow.  And in a sense that I managed not to eat it despite inhaling near-record quantities otherwise.  Yeesh.  This is the right quantity.

Dinner:  4 tacos, mexican style plus avocado and hot sauce, 24 oz Founders Civilized Brut IPA


Happy taco Monday.  Glad to support my local taqueria, they were busier tonight than the last couple times I've gone.  Speaking of gone, getting close to the end of this six pack and that's a good thing, I don't think my stomach is crazy about it even though I like the taste.  Next up is a bunch of All Days.

Exercise:  Nope.  Unless I get fired up yet this evening.
