A Nadir

Saturday, November 16, 2019

It's been brutal.  For every day that's decent there are ten that are horrible.  No consistency.

It's a fact, though, that I have felt more mortal the last couple months than I ever have.  Even when my weight has peaked previously I didn't experience major physical issues.  Now, I do.  The wrecked knee is one thing, but it's really scary to feel your heart and lungs heavily loaded from even the smallest activity.  To be unable to sleep because you can't find a position that your body can take.  It's awful.

As a long-time food addict, though, change is hard.  I'm planning on staying home today, working on some things around the house, and hopefully feeling like I can get things back on track.  Too many carbs are lined up, but a lot of the wheat ones at least are buttermilk soaked.

Breakfast:  Overnight soaked buttermilk waffles with maple syrup, thick cut pepper bacon, a few rosemary and olive oil Triscuits, coffee

Severely overcooked the bacon.  Surprising, since my oven has been seeming weak lately.  It was a different kind of bacon, otherwise same method as usual.  Oh well, it was still edible.  Waffles were fantastic, I don't understand people that dislike buttermilk flavor.  Triscuits have been cleaned up.

Lunch:  Tacos with shredded cheddar and TB fire sauce

Good.  Carby, but good.  Better if I didn't eat so many shells.  Leftovers tomorrow.

Dinner:  Failed homemade cheese pizza with buttermilk crust, CFA spicy chicken, fries, mac and cheese, coke, Culvers concrete mixer

All sorts of fail.  The crust on the pizza didn't work, since it didn't develop the gluten needed for the way I prepared it.  It would have been fine otherwise.  Then I was hungry later and boom went the dynamite.

Exercise:  Nope.
