Welp.
Made it through Thanksgiving. Had a big feast early afternoon and then never considered eating anything the rest of the day. Wiped out, I went to bed at 9:30.
Sleep poorly yet again. Up at 5 for a bit, then snoozed fitfully in a chair for serveral hours. Felt lousy. Lots of unhappy body parts. Eventually perked up some after a shower, but it was a slow go.
I don't really do Black Friday but I did go out this evening and bought myself a new Chromebook. I'm hoping that will be helpful in getting this blog to a more consistent place. Now I just need to sell a few things on eBay to recover the cost!
Breakfast: Hostess giant donettes, milk
Lunch: Jack's frozen bacon cheeseburger pizza, Coke, chips and salsa
Dinner: Five Guys little cheeseburger all the way, little fries with ketchup
Exercise: Not a chance. Really, really struggling physically. Need to fix the diet first and foremost.

With Apologies to Tom Petty
Sunday, November 17, 2019
It's the starting that's the hardest part.
Sigh. Let's get through today and try again.
Breakfast: Leftover waffles with maple syrup, many strips of pepper bacon
Forgot the rest, never came back to finish.

A Nadir
Saturday, November 16, 2019
It's been brutal. For every day that's decent there are ten that are horrible. No consistency.
It's a fact, though, that I have felt more mortal the last couple months than I ever have. Even when my weight has peaked previously I didn't experience major physical issues. Now, I do. The wrecked knee is one thing, but it's really scary to feel your heart and lungs heavily loaded from even the smallest activity. To be unable to sleep because you can't find a position that your body can take. It's awful.
As a long-time food addict, though, change is hard. I'm planning on staying home today, working on some things around the house, and hopefully feeling like I can get things back on track. Too many carbs are lined up, but a lot of the wheat ones at least are buttermilk soaked.
Breakfast: Overnight soaked buttermilk waffles with maple syrup, thick cut pepper bacon, a few rosemary and olive oil Triscuits, coffee
Severely overcooked the bacon. Surprising, since my oven has been seeming weak lately. It was a different kind of bacon, otherwise same method as usual. Oh well, it was still edible. Waffles were fantastic, I don't understand people that dislike buttermilk flavor. Triscuits have been cleaned up.
Lunch: Tacos with shredded cheddar and TB fire sauce
Good. Carby, but good. Better if I didn't eat so many shells. Leftovers tomorrow.
Dinner: Failed homemade cheese pizza with buttermilk crust, CFA spicy chicken, fries, mac and cheese, coke, Culvers concrete mixer
All sorts of fail. The crust on the pizza didn't work, since it didn't develop the gluten needed for the way I prepared it. It would have been fine otherwise. Then I was hungry later and boom went the dynamite.
Exercise: Nope.

So All Needed Was One More Hour?
Sunday, November 3, 2019
As annoying as daylight savings time is, I sure do love that extra hour we get in the fall. I even managed to fake myself out this morning -- I changed my alarm from 6:30 to 5:30 on my phone, woke up shortly before what the clock said was 5:30 ... and only after I got up did I realize that I hadn't set the clocks back and it was only 4:30. Oops. Dozed in a chair for a few minutes but couldn't get back to sleep. And so ... I managed to motivate enough to go for a short walk. All I needed was one more hour?
Otherwise in a fantastic mood this morning. Not too fazed by the scale going the wrong way -- I mean, it's obvious why given my horrendous overeating of late -- since for once I'm optimistic about making some positive changes. I do wonder if there are some things I can eat if prepared correctly (without sugar and seed oils, soaked/fermented etc) but we will see. Once I eat through some junk that is.
Breakfast: Homemade soaked buttermilk waffles with maple syrup, 5 strips applewood bacon, coffee
Changed up the waffle recipe and went with one that soaked the flour in buttermilk overnight Weston A Price style. Kinda winged it beyond that tbqh. Didn't notice any difference in taste, but I like the tang anyway. Also went straight maple syrup since I think I pretty much finished my bottle of Tree Hive syrup with honey yesterday.
Also, oddly enough the recipe made nearly six waffles, up from 4 and 5. Same cup of flour.
Lunch: Oh yes, lots of it.
Dinner: Tons.
Exercise: Short walk, phone said 0.6 mile, was just about 20 minutes.
Went just fine. Geared up appropriately for 37 degrees F, though I do need to find my beanie (or get a new one). I don't have an ideal route for my walk any more, but if I can deal with a few blocks I can catch the route I used to take and do some of that.

Satured Day
Saturday, November 2, 2019
Have I mentioned how much I love weekends? They're great. Now if only they were 3 days long. I guess I'll settle for the extra hour of sleep tonight. As an added bonus I woke up early this morning, so if I don't stay up too late tonight maybe I can use the time shift to fix my schedule. Maybe. History of doing so has been pretty poor.
Breakfast: 3x homemade buttermilk waffles with Tree Hive syrup, 5 srips thick cut cherrywood bacon, coffee
Made the same waffle recipe as last week, this time it made 5 waffles instead of 4 for some unknown reason. Whatever. Two more to the freezer.
Lunch: Tacos - leftover taco meat, shells, avocado, sharp cheddar, Fire sauce. Chips and salsa, a little lemonade
This was very tasty. So much so that I bought another package of shells despite the fact that I shouldn't be eating them because of corn and seed oil.
Dinner: Homemade cheese sticks (pizza crust, olive oil, seasoning, mozz cheese). Taco Bell chicken chalupa supreme, beefy fritos burrito. Mini donuts, rice krispie treat
Okay, that was a lot of junk. Made the cheese sticks out of some dough I had in the fridge, trying a different version of the 72 hour dough recipe.
Exercise: Nope.
