Endless Beaning

Friday, January 11, 2019

Lots and lots of beans this week.  Alas, I'm out of the elite super bacon beans, I think.

Breakfast:  Coffee

May have to start eating a little something just to cut the acid.

Lunch:  Super bacon beans with beef lil' smokies and cheddar cheese, a few potato chips, the rest of the sesame bread stix with cheddar cheese spread

Cleaning things up....

Dinner:  Homemade pepperoni pizza, chips and onion dip, Dr. Pepper, < 12 oz Founders Rubeus

I wasn't super fond of the beer.

Exercise:  Nope.

Fun With Liquids

Thursday, January 10, 2019

The human body is weird.  Even though I haven't done a very good job of cutting the excessive carbs this week my body still decided that I was carrying around too much water and that it needed to let go of some.

Breakfast:  Coffee

My schedule is still off, I'm getting up late, going in to work late.  That won't continue.  Felt a bit better this morning.  Still coughing though I don't feel sick.

Lunch:  Spicy bacony beans with beef lil' smokies and cheddar cheese, some sesame breadsticks with cheddar cheese spread

It's been a beany week.

Dinner:  Jack's frozen bacon cheeseburger pizza, chips with onion dip, Dr Pepper, a hershey cookie bar and cup of tapioca pudding

Very late arrival home and a whole lotta junk.

Exercise:  Nope.

Thoughts Back And Forth

Wednesday, January 9, 2018

Kind of going back and forth a little in my thinking today.  Part of me says you should eat at home all the time.  You'll save money, you control what you eat ... and did I mention you'll save money?

Then another part of me says yeah, right.  Sure you'll save money.  You just went to the store again and spent more money.  That pot of soup you made was $30 because you bought good meat.  You'd be better off just eating a cheeseburger sans bun or an omelet at the restaurant.  And RIP taco salad you were the greatest.

I think the end result will be somewhere in between.

Regardless, I told myself I was going to eat at home for five days straight and dammit I'm doing it.

Breakfast:  Coffee

I could just stop mentioning breakfast when I don't eat anything, I suppose.

Lunch:   Spicy bacon beans plus cubed ham and shredded cheddar

ROTATION:  FAIL

Very good.  If I ever go keto or carnivore giving up my spicy beans will be a sad thing.

Dinner:   Sesame breadsticks with cheddar cheese spread, 20 oz Dr Pepper, homemade vegetable beef soup, a slice + crust of sourdough with lots of butter

This batch of soup was a little bland.  I need to kick up the seasoning next time.  Oh and again I'll probably have a couple scoops of Breyers vanilla with milk.  Getting close to the bottom of the carton.

Exercise:  Nope.  Snowy, cold and windy day.  Still coughing.  Sigh.

Stocks (Of Junk) Dwindling

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

Well, I can say one positive thing -- I have successfully eaten only at home for two days.

That's a good thing.

The quality of what was eaten?  Well .... not so good.  A lot of junk.  But I'm eating my way through it.  I know I should just toss everything bad and be a food nazi.  I just don't have it in me this time.  It's enough of a struggle doing what little right that I am.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Not eating felt more normal today than it did yesterday.  I may decide to go back to eating a couple bites of something that's fat and protein, but for now I'm OK with just skipping it.

Lunch:  Leftover vigo yellow rice and homemade chicken soup, salt and pepper pretzel crisps

Finished off each of these items.  I do have more chicken soup in the freezer, this batch was a solid meh.

Dinner:  6 slices of toasted cheese bread with butter and garlic salt.  A glass or so of Dr Pepper.

Nice quality bread, a half loaf of sourdough from a semi-local bakery.  Too bad I can't show restraint.  Oh, and I had a couple scoops of Breyers vanilla ice cream with milk in a glass too.  I still have some of that left, at least another day or two.

Exercise:  lol no

Another crummy day outside, tomorrow likely to be worse.  I still feel like crap, though I'm coughing less tonight finally.  Sleep schedule remains not conducive to walking, I may have to start with evenings when I feel up to it.

Okay Like I've Never Done This Before

Monday, January 7, 2018

Here we go.  Not expecting perfection, but at least we're going to put a stop to some things.  The endless fast food.  Sugary crap.  Pizzas by the dozens.

Major challenge this week -- eat at home.  I have lots of stuff stocked in the freezer.  Vegetable beef soup, stew, spicy beans.  I can thaw, heat and eat.  I have breakfast foods.  I've got chicken soup I made yesterday.  If I really need breakfast I have cheese and eggs.  Maybe I'll hard boil a couple.

Go.

Breakfast:  Coffee

Ugh.  I hate first days.  And it sure didn't help that I felt like complete garbage this morning.  The illness I thought was largely defeated yesterday is back.  Sigh.

Lunch:  Spicy bacon beans plus a couple ounces of Mejier cubed ham

Freezer meal, plus I picked up a convenient package of cubed/diced ham (for whatever reason they offer multiple cut sizes).  Always tasty, though I'm probably going to be hungry this afternoon.

Dinner:  Salt and pepper pretzel crisps with bar cheez, raspberry lemonade, 5 slices sourdough with butter, garlic salt and italian cheese.

Epic fail, of course.  You don't let yourself get that hungry.  May clean up a little ice cream later too.

Exercise:  Nope.  Between feeling awful and miserable rainy weather no chance.

A New Nadir Nearly

Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Ugh.

The rampage has continued largely unabated.  Mentally I'm ready to get back on track, but I came down with something yesterday afternoon and I'm just not able to make a serious change when I feel like garbage.

It needs to happen though.  Soon.
